UNITED IN ANNIHILATION (3WAY SPLIT)

Acral Necrosis from England, however, impress the hell out of me again. The band..s shredding, vicious blackened thrash spreads around as easily as the bubonic plague did during the 1300s in Europe. The type of pure wickedness the band has is deeply rooted in their sound, and can be sensed amazingly well out from their songs - and with the 4 songs that they have recorded for this split-CD, their carbon-black souls are meant to bleed more black blood in front of the altar of the crucified whore Jesus Christ. Think of sort of a hybrid of such satanic commandos as Fallen Christ and Blasphemy, that both have taken more of a thrashy roller coaster ride musically, and you pretty much have Acral Necrosis in your slit hands. Now welcome true holders of satanic blitzkrieg underground metal to your home. (3.5 out of 5)
ETERNAL NUKLEAR VIOLATION [mcd]
BLOODY ZINE
REVIEW From BLOODY Zine 17 (SPAIN)
The debut of this English blackened thrash metal band whose musical proposal has the energy and aggressiveness of a nuclear power plant at the peak of explosion. Extremely fast, nonstop sharp riffs and a rough and ready to tear voice (well, the voice is not the only rough element in this band, the guitars are also very very rough and perhaps if they were a little higher it would suit them better). In order for you to get a better understanding of how this band sounds, the most 'thrash-like' sounds remind me a lot of the American Devastator from which you can imagine the aggressiveness and speed (which are definitely present). For those who may be curious, [this release] is presented in a cardboard sleeve and includes a pick and a sticker.

Despite a raw production, Acral Necrosis manages to make quite the impact. With a frenzied approach, the band plays a style that land somewhere in between black metal and thrash metal. Thinks early Sodom mixed with Sadistik Exekution but filtered through early black metal and you'd have Acral Necrosis.
The song writing is quite interesting and utilizes a combination of melody and all out insanity. The thrash styled riffs are more straight ahead and leave a bit of the melody behind, while the blasting sections usually embrace a more melodic sound that draws from the black metal genre more firmly,.
To be perfectly honest the production is somewhat lacking. To its credit it has a sound that recalls the demos of the past which is always a good thing. The guitar tone could have been a bit beefier I think and the overall mix would have been a bit clearer. The disc has an underground feel to it which isn't as common these days with home recording becoming much more common. So the sound is raw yet it fits the sound of the band.
If you enjoy thrash infused black metal or war metal, Acral Necrosis is a band to look into. Fans of early Sodom and Aussie war metal should definitely find this to their liking.

Acral Necrosis if you were wondering (and even if you weren't) is a particularly nasty symptom associated with the blackening of the skin caused by bubonic plague. Feel free to go make a sandwich and type the words into Google image search and see what you come up with! Whilst there you will also no doubt find Acral Necrosis the band who hail from Wigan and Leeds and are a pretty violent sounding bunch.
They seem to have a thing about radiation symbols, adorning the CD itself with one as well as one cunningly taking up the face of the Baphomet on the cover here. The title track starts with some rather generic sounding thrash workings but this is no jump on the bandwagon exercise in the slightest as it suddenly spews into some savage sounding gangrenous blackened thrash, which is all about enforcing a severe degree of extremity. Production does suffer with the drums being particularly muddy in the mix here, which is a shame especially as this lot have bothered to sort out a professional cover and not sent a shitty CDR as so many demo bands do. The vocals here are nasty and go for some grindcore stop-start bursts, making this an interesting assault.
'Unsanctified By Blastthrashing Maelstrom' does just that basically, could not describe this whirring guitar onslaught much better if I tried. 'The Beast' illustrates a sense of humour with some daft vocals and even a power metal scream at the end of this morass of squealing riffs. This makes me think that this is a band who are not looking for worldwide fame at all but just enjoying making a racket, getting pissed and hailing Satan, truth be told they do a pretty good job of it.

All the hordes of Hell rejoin to enslave this weak world made by the weak Christians... Acral Necrosis (formerly Gammorah), this 4-piece incarnation of blasphemy and all evil, comes from Wigan/Leeds, UK. The band was formed in 2004, and the band..s name is "a symptom common in bubonic plague. The striking black discoloration of skin and tissue, primarily on the extremities, is commonly thought to have given rise to the name "Black Death," associated both with the disease and the pandemic which occurred in the 14th century."
So, there you have quite an explanation about the meaning of the band name. Sounds like fun, doesn..t it - ha! Musically, Acral Necrosis.. blackened thrash metal spreads around as easily like a plague indeed. Think something along the lines of early Order From Chaos and Fallen Christ, and I think we are quite close to Acral Necrosis as to how they actually sound like. The band..s music could be described best by such adjectives as ..violent.., ..hot as hell.., ..raw.. and ..ripping, crucifix-breaking.. blackened thrash that determinedly moves on like an all-annihilating division of tanks, saving no one from their unspeakable, murderous wrath. I suppose you got a picture anyway, didn..t you? This is all-round good stuff if you just happen to like more of an extreme side of underground black/thrash metal. All the primitive rage and energy that come through their music, makes one to give some credit what Acral Necrosis are all about. No wimpy stuff for wimpy ears or weak minds here, so now go..n hide your goddamned crucifixes.
There..s only 4 songs (catapulted over in less than 17 minutes) on this release - and that..s the only thing that bugs me a little bit because all the fun is over way too early before it even gets started. However, there..s also this so-called ..Die Hard.. box set available (limited to 24 copies only - probably all gone already?) which contains an autographed copy of the MCD, an Acral Necrosis embroidered logo patch, an Acral Necrosis backstage ..aftershow.. laminate pass, an Acral Necrosis logo t-shirt (exclusively available in this box set), an Acral Necrosis logo guitar pick and an Acral Necrosis logo sticker, all packed inside a mini road case. So if you manage to get one for yourself, or are a happy owner of it already, you must be very pleased by now, I think.
The next release from Acral Necrosis is going to be a 3-way split release with the Colombians Witchtrap and the Polish Warfist (on Ground Zero Entertainment, too), so hopefully that release will increase our appetite toward their stuff even more. Ave Satanas - ave Lucifer - ave Acral Necrosis!

Acral Necrosis "Eternal Nuklear Violation" Ep / Ground Zero Entertainment

Acral Necrosis got the night under way. Thanks to Al for the EP, a review of which will appear on a new section of this site soon. These guys are fast and very brutal residing somewhere in the twilight zone between between thrash, death and black metal. Vicious set, couldn't really hear the bass player which was a pity as he was flying up and down the fretboard of his five string. Other than that enjoyed them a lot and will hopefully catch them again soon on their next trip south from Wigan. Intriguingly I thought thay sounded better when they slowed it down a fraction on their last couple of songs however I am being picky. Great start to the night.
