Yes you heard it right... It's only been alitttle over a year since i moved to Austin from LA, and now I'm moving again! Austin, TX has been so so good to me, and I love everyone in this great city... but business calls... and it's so exciting!

So here it goes...

I got a HUGE opportunity in music, and they're moving me back to LA!!!

After all the hard work it's starting to pay off!!!

For all of you in Austin I'm playing my farewell show this Sunday(12/21) @ Antone's... They gave me the whole night! So I got together my closest friends, and favorite musicians to play this evening with me! (Noa Lynn, Jack Valen, Kalu James...) And the last set of the night will be a HUGE jam session with the whole "family"!!! It's going to be a great night so PLEASE come out, and see me before I go!

So this past month was really crazy! New York was AMAZING!!! Great turnouts, amazing food, and crazy party! Then I got back to Austin, and a day later went to Vegas to sing the national anthem at the Indian National Finals Rodeo. Ya it was pretty wild, and I didn't even know all the words! I had to learn them the day before. haha! but it went well... Now I'm finally back in Austin tryin to regroup! But am still crazy busy... I'm playing at Antones this Thursday(16th) at 9pm with the band! Antones is a really respected place in Austin, and I'm sooo excited for this opportunity!!! So if you're in town, or wanna fly in (better get your tickets!) come by Antones (www.antones.net) and hang out with me!

Hey!
So there has been alot going on. I just got back from L.A. and am finally getting rested up. haha! It was a very good trip. Got to play some really great shows, and got the band together for a show at The Viper Room. It went sooo well, and if you missed it, don't worry because they'll be plenty more to come...

I'm now getting ready to head to New York next week! I'm really excited to get back out there! I'm playing a music festival in upstate in a town called Utica, NY. www.uticamusicfest.com I'm
going out there with several fantastic musicians from Austin, and we're going to be on the same stages sharing the same nights. I'm playing the 19th & 20th. On the 19th I'm playing at Hotel Utica @ 8:30pm, and on the 20th I'm playing at the Stiefvator Room @ 10pm. I don't really know anyone in upstate New York, so if you have family or friends that live near there please spread the word. Also if you're gonna be visiting near there it'd be great to see you. I'll be in NYC the 16th & 17th, then get into Utica on the 18th, and don't really have any plans so if you know of any parties or fun things to do let me know!

I then go back to NYC and play a show on the 22nd at The Annex in the lower east side at 8pm. So come on out to all of these, and give this Texas boy some NY love!

How have you been? Sorry it's been so long since I've last sent out an update. I've been alittle busy, and to be honest kinda forgot. :( ….BUT, I do have some news. So, lets catch up alittle… The tour was a great success! Me and Kalu (myspace.com/kalujames) had a fantastic time. Met some really great people, and saw some old friends as well. The road was so good to us, and so was all the support! I want to thank all of you that came out to the shows, and let us crash at thier places. Couldn't have done it without y'all! Half way through the tour I stayed in L.A. and did some recording, and I've also recently recorded some live shows. Not sure if I'm gonna release hard copies of it yet, but will put some of it on the internet very soon. Also, stay tuned in, because I'm defiantly gonna release some kinda album soon… I'm also gonna start posting more videos on youtube in the near future and have already posted a few new ones. So if you haven't checked them out, you can view them at: youtube.com/joshhalversonmusic. ….OH!!! I ALMOST FORGOT! I'M GONNA BE PLAYING IN L.A. NEXT MONTH!!! FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!! The coolest thing I could possibly be doing on my birthday! Well… my birthday is 2 days before (08/07/08), but my b-day party is that Saturday (08/09/08)! It's gonna be at The Mint. It starts at 7:00pm with a special guest opening up, then I go on at 7:45! So, come hang out with me on my birthday! It's gonna be great!

Hey Everyone,
I hope you're having an amazing New Year thus far. I wanna thank all of you new, and old for signing up for my mailing list, it's greatly appreciated. I've finally gotten it all organized. I'm still planning on touring a ton this year, and could really use all the help I can get. We're in it together! … Anyways, so I'm finally starting to settle in here in Austin, and am slowly falling in love with the city! It's great here, alittle cold these days, but good in it's own sense. I start pre-production for the new record in a couple weeks. Oh! I'm planning on releasing two records this year! The first one will be in March or April, and will be a stripped down acoustic album of some of the songs from the last CD. The second one will be released in the fall, of all new material. I'm so excited, and I hope y'all are equally excited. Well that's about it for now. I hope all is well!

Hey Everyone!
Fall and Winter are nearing, and the carols are dusting themselves off! I couldn't be more thrilled!!! Coats, fires, and songwriting… So, the last time I talked to y'all I was living in Hollywood. Not anymore! I made it safely to the city limits of Austin, TX. The towns great, and full of personality, my house is great, and my dog (yes, I have a dog, and her name is Princess!) is amazing! I've been here a week, and am just kinda starting to get settled. This week and next, me and my manager (Chez who moved here with me) are starting to book all my gigs and tours for the end of this year and next. So stay in touch with me for the dates. Would love to see you at some shows… I would like to also ask a favor? Since we don't really have the resources, and flat out don't know how to do it, I'd like to ask for y'alls creativity? I need banners for my myspace, to promote my music so people can post it on there profiles and spread the word about my tunes! Design them, and send them to me , and I'll put them on my profile. Sorry I havn't wrote in a while. Been pretty busy... Yes, the subject is sadly correct. My last show with the full band before I move half way accross the country, is tomorrow!!! The show will be at The Derby tomorrow (09/21/07) @ 8pm. Robert Jon will be playing as well, so it will definately be a night to remember. It is an 18+ show, and for those that are 21+ there is an OPEN BAR from 8-9!!! I really hope you can make it, because I'm really gonna miss you, and don't know when I will get to see y'all again. :( Sorry for the short notice, but it's been alittle hectic on my end. Hey Everyone,
I hope y'all are having the most amazing summer ever! I'm wondering if it's gonna catch up with me before the fall. :) There's just a lot that's been happening the last couple weeks, and even more in the weeks to come… So, I'll start off with, I decided that I'm going to move to Austin. Sorry to start off so bluntly, but it's a major decision that I've made for several reasons. But the main ones are: closer to my family, the music is amazing, and… I PLAN TO TOUR ALL NEXT YEAR!!! So, I figure Texas is a good home base, and I'll tell you what, the rent's a hell of alot cheaper… I'm REALLY gonna miss you guys though! :( This is why I want to bring up this next bit of news. As some of y'all know, my birthday is this month. Actually it was Tuesday, August, 7th, but I'm celebrating it at a show I have Friday, Aug. 24th at The Derby. It's gonna be one of my last shows in California for awhile. It'd be so wonderful if you all came, and spent this time with me. I'm seriously gonna miss y'all sooo much! My time in California has been nothing short of AMAZING! Especially with all you wonderful people. The show on the 24th is gonna be a great night. I'm playing with the full band, my family's coming from Texas, and I get to hang out with all of you. The celebration start's at 8pm, and I really hope you can make it!

Now for the next bit of news that has happened! I recently went into Track Records and did a live recording of "Just One More." A new song that will possibly be on the next record! I recorded it so y'all could have an insight on what's been happening. You can check it out on my myspace. I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July! Let me hear all about. Mine was good. Me and some friends went to malibu. Had some drinks at Duke's, and watched the fireworks! Pretty spectacular! haha! Not too crazy, but good. :)

So let me inform you of this amazing gig I have tomorrow (07/07/07)! I got an open list at this SUPER exclusive place called the Cabana Club! The place is simply amazing! I go on at 8pm so you have to so up then to get the free admission! YOU HAVE TO COME! IT'S FREEEEE! and afterwards is a super amazing club that you can dance the night away with ME! :) Hope to see you there! I'll be sad if I don't, because I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on this opportunity! GOOD MUSIC, alot of dancing, and alittle booze. :)
