After months of worry over the future of my health care I now have a bit of reassurance. My heath insurance expires on my 25^th birthday, Sept 18^th. I applied to get an individual plan and was turned down. I went to have my pacemaker checked on Tuesday and the tech said I should be good till about January. We started talking and because of the insurance issues she asked the Cardiologist to request they do it with in the nest 2 weeks. I am 89% dependent on my pacemaker that means my heart only beats on its own 11% of the time. Needless to say, life without a PM wouldn't last very long. September 3^rd I will be going in for surgery to have it replaced. From what I have read this should be a bit easier that the first surgery, but it still major surgery. I am going through major mixed feeling. I am trying my best to not get scared or worry. This is something I'm going to have to do every 4 years or so, I should get used to it. There are things in life you can control and there are things in life you can't. I can't control this, there isn't anything I can do other than go in with a positive attitude. I was sick for almost a year and I would never want to go through that again. I am not a sick person anymore, I am just a person with an organ that isn't functioning correctly. I am thankful everyday that things have worked out like they have. Things have fallen in to place and now we just have to see what the next step is.
