so....I just released a new album "sparkle like glitter on the sun"
this was not the album I was planning to release this year.....these tracks were meant to be the basic beginning tracks for the album........but after listening to them for over a month...I started to find beauty in  the rawness...even the ugliness ...and just felt that I really wanted people to be able to hear me....no bullshit...no studio tricks..just me and the songs....good or bad...it's all on the table...if you were in my house listening to me play and sing..this is pretty much what you would hear.....this is a stark contrast from my previous album "taking tea with elephants"..........and....I still amy go back and do a more polished version of these songs later....and release it.

but for now...this is who I am....right now......it may not be pretty or slick...but this is who i am...just a guy that writes songs...and hopes that through these songs we can find a connection to each other.
for the moment the album is available exclusively through my online store...I may do a wider launch(iTunes..etc..) we'll see.


I'm also currently working with David Spencer (high strung, deepest symphony) on a new project that I'm very excited about...stay tuned!

ok...yes..I admit it..I'm a coffee snob...also a gin snob and sushi snob....wow..I have issues..LOL..anyway..this is just my tangent about all of the tv commercials that constantly put down...in many ..less than creative ..veiled ways....starbucks....for example...it drives me insane when a gas station chain runs commercials saying.."why spend 4 bucks for a cup of coffee house coffee..when you can get the same quality for only 99 cents"...yeah...a GAS STATION always has the same quality as Starbucks...or when a certain swillhouse.....I mean fast food restaurant advertises that "four bucks is dumb"....we have coffee shop quality coffee...blah blah....well..here's the truth...A CUP OF COFFEE...does not cost 4 bucks...or even 2 bucks...at Starbucks....the more expensive drinks are the latte's and cappucino's and other specialty drinks...and yes..they cost more than gas station latte's...but starbucks latte's aren't made from a powdered mix!......have you noticed you never see commercials for starbucks?  that's because they don't need tv commercials! they have great coffee....not just the drinks you buy in store...but the starbucks bags of whole bean coffee that you make at home(with a french press of course).....I've tried many many types of coffee....starbucks is superior every time!....and they sell organic and fair trade...are involved in(RED)..etc...etc....
so...wouldn't it seem rude if starbucks started selling burgers as a sideline to their coffee...and suddenly said theirs were the best?......why do other companies feel the need to put down starbucks???...well it's always my theory that if you make a quality product...you don't need to put down other products......you only have to resort to that when you have an inferior product.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...STARBUCKS!!!!!!!!
 
......yes I know.....but I warned you it was a tangent!  ;-)

OK..so..I never really knew what my song "the violet door" was exactly about...well...I did..but..the song didn't communicate it very well ;-)..so I re-wrote the lyrics......I'm sure some of you will know exactly what it means now!  ...:-).....wow...songwriting can be very theraputic!!
"the violet door"
I opened the violet door..and walked into that empty room, with memories scattered on the floor. I opened the violet door, as light filtered above my head. nothing lived there anymore. through the violet door, could I see what I want to see..or is it what's supposed to be?
does anything still show..besides what we think we know...and can we be who we should be ..behind.....behind the violet door.
c'mon and go with me, we'll look for eternity..or maybe our reality. there's nothing we know for sure, except the dead are always dead...but you can live here in my head.  and now through the door there is something from before...that makes it all mean even more.
and everything will grow....and I hope you somehow know.. that things will be what they should be behind...behind the violet door.
