Some reviews of Floating World's expanded CATERER comic -

Village Voice

Willamette Week

literarystrange

Village Voice: "Readers can now revel in the nearly indescribable literary and visual conundrums of Marsden, Lint's smug blond jock of an alter ego and the most rigorous pataphysician to star in a comic since Bill Griffith's Zippy the Pinhead. Marsden's endless monologue of pseudoprofound non sequiturs is dark, goofy, and intoxicating ... The Caterer envelops Marsden and his arch-nemesis, Sheriff Leonard Bayard, in a dingy graphics hodgepodge reminiscent of Jack Kirby, Jim Steranko, and Richard Corben jamming on datura. Fake ads ("25 DEAD SEAHORSES $2.98") and a letters section ("Your Yell!") pay strychnine homage to comics at their cheesiest yet most disturbing. Aylett and company nail it."

Saturday, November 29, 2008
On Dec 4 2008 FLOATING WORLD COMICS are launching an enhanced & revised CATERER Issue 3 reprint, with higher color and extra material.
Described by Alan Moore as "the holy barnacle of failure", Jeff Lint's THE CATERER dragged Pearl into a legal hell when its hero spent the whole of Issue 9 on a killing spree in Disneyland. The smirking Jack Marsden became a cult figure and role model for enigmatic idiots in the mid-70s. His style and catchphrases were such an insider code that hundreds of people got beaten up by baffled or enraged onlookers.

The Floating World edition is 32 inner pages plus covers. Extras include "The Caterer Returns' (the story of the Caterer comic), 'Who was Jeff Lint?', 'The Caterer Code' (how to be the Caterer) and a central 'Stick With Me' pull-out poster.
There's a launch for the new edition on Thurs, Dec 4 2008, 6pm to 10pm at the Floating World store in Portland - also Bizarro authors will be in attendance and reading Bizarro work, including Mykle Hansen, Carlton Mellick III, Jeremy Robert Johnson, Daniel Scott Buck, and more.
