Hey :)

I can't believe the year is almost over! It's been quite an exciting one for me and I wanted to update you guys on what's been going on. 

I finished my new record called "Drum Tobacco", it's being mastered right now and is due out January 1st. It's a bit of a new sound for me, a little more folk/rock. My producer Chris Seefried did such a fantastic job. I've posted a few of the new tunes on myspace and it should be up and running on itunes soon!

I've been playing a ton of shows in LA lately, and most recently just performed at The Troubadour with Jay Nash, Chris Seefried and friends. It was such a great room and such a great show. Thanks to everyone who came :)

I'll be heading to Austin again this year for SxSw to play a bunch of spots. March will be here before you know it, that one always creeps up on us. If you have never been to this festival, you should really consider going. It's such a great spot to hear all sorts of new music. Austin is a lovely city too. Can't wait!!

I've posted a bunch of new videos on youtube. We taped a few songs from the Altas building rooftop in NY city. It was part of the Open A.I.R concert series there. Here's the link if you want to check them out

Hey!

I'm in the beautiful city of New York this week. Although my sleep schedule has been disturbed a bit (asleep at 5 am, up at noon :) it's been a blast. 

The first show I've ever played in NY was on Thursday night, on the rooftop of the Atlas Building. Not a bad way to start off! The night was so amazing. Brianne Michelle played with her band and I opened with an acoustic set. The show even made it into the headlines of GAWKER, the online news magazine. I have a few more days to explore the city. We're gonna go to a concert on the river in Brooklyn today. Should be a blast. This place is so amazing!!

Hey everyone,

I know it's been a long, long while. I've been in the recording void of non-existence. I'm back in the real world today and have a lot of catching up to do! I've been working on my new EP for the last three weeks in LA with an amazing producer/musician Chris Seefried. 
 
If I can try to describe the new sound of the album, I would say it's like Stevie Nicks, Neil Young and Natalie Merchant had a love child. Really good stuff!  I'm so excited to present this music to the world. I just posted one of the tracks "Heavy Feeling" on myspace.com/justinebennett . Check it out....

I also want to let the Southern Californian's know about a very last minute show I"ll be playing tonight in LA. I have to test out some of the new material :) 
It's a Room 5 - Monday in the Round with some great LA musicians. I'll be opening for them at 8 sharp. The round will feature JOEL ECKELS, CHRIS PIERCE, TREVOR MENEAR, DAWN THOMAS with JENNI ALPERT.

Hey there.

Well, I"m in lovely Los Angeles and have just finished the recording of the first track on my new EP called "Carry Me". It turned out wonderfully and I can't wait for you all to hear it. I"ll be posting it soon, so stay tuned!!!

I"ve been invited by some friends of mine to join them at the Red Devil Lounge tonight for a great night of music. Jay Nash, Chris Seefried and Joey Ryan are all amazing musicians based in LA. This show is sure to be great and tons of fun!

I've got a few things brewing and I"ll start with the most recent. I'm in LA right now getting ready for my "Snowbirds in LA" -Canadian Singer/Songwriter night this Tuesday. Canadians are taking over the world... LOL...  

I'm so happy to be reuniting with an amazing guitarist from Vancouver, Joe Cruz. Joe played on my new record and has shared the stage with some amazing musicians, including one of my idols Sarah Mclachlan. With him come two other extremely talented Canadian singer/songwriters, Stephen Hedley and Shawn Hlookoff. This is going to be a great night of acoustic music in LA and I'd love to see all of your faces.

For those of you who haven't heard, I've had an exciting few months. Two of the songs from my new EP "Invisible" were chosen to be featured on MTV's "The Real World Brooklyn". Hey everyone,

We have had a change of venue for the show in Santa Rosa next weekend. I'll be opening for my good friends 5am and it's going to be a great show! I hope anyone that's in the area can make it. It sells out every year, so get your tickets soon!!
