What's up errybody..

Been a while since I posted, so I figured I should let u know what I've been up to. Went out to LA for the Grammys to do the Russell Simmons Global Grind/Hip Hop Summit Grammy After Party, & it ended up being the best of the parties.

It was held at this private Beverly Hills mansion that looked like a Tuscan Villa. I was setting up to open the party, and Dr. Ben Chavis (Hip Hop Summit), shook my hand and thanked me for deejaying the party before I even got on. I had a good feeling from then on.

I warmed up with the smooth R&B classics, Bill Withers, Grover Washington, Mtume, and progressed to more upbeat funk/dance classics, D Train, Chaka, Stevie. As the party got more crowded, and I saw the first initial wave of people coming from the Grammys, that's when I turned it up some more. Still in an old school frame of mind, I played a quick late 80's early 90's house set, Raze, Inner City, and then brought it to the Jungle Brothers "I'll House You" to bring it up to party mode. Somehow I switched it up to up-to-date songs, but did it in a way that made sense (I don't like to throw random songs together that don't make sense).

Well, by that time I had a quick reggae set that brought it up to date with Mavado's "So Special", which went out by special request to Sari from Fetish. Okay... now I had them officially warmed up & started going in for a little kill. D-Nice was about to get on, so I wanted to leave them with a little something from me. I had the ladies going, without playing the up to date hot songs (left those for D-Nice), and once we made the transition, it was a wrap!

At the end of the day, we made it an official house party, to the point Chris Lighty was about to get on the turntables, and D-Nice used his headphones as a mic! D even said on the mic that he did 3 Grammy parties, & this was the best one.

We kilt it.. =)

Not to mention there were a bunch of celebrities there too =)

Okay..

It was crazy in Sydney. The MTV Awards was ok, but the after party was insane. What started out as a small, private gathering in the downstairs Marble Bar of the Sydney Hilton, turned out into a late night, not gonna leave till the music stops affair.

After the MTV Awards was over, everyone headed back to the Hilton where the official after party was upstairs on the 4th floor. It was ok, but kinda boring. Eve was bored, so we all broke out from there & headed downstairs to the Marble Bar to get some drinks. When we got there, Wyclef was on the mic onstage with the dj, having fun with some rock music. Well, when Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" came on, one of Eve's dancers (Cloud) & Eve's bass player (Brian), started a mosh pit which Wyclef, Juliet Lewis & all of us joined in.

Soon after, Eve asked Wyclef to tell the dj to play some reggae, so he turned to me and asked to get my laptop so I can dj. I went & got my sh*t, and the rest is history. I plugged up while Wyclef emceed, and as soon as I was on, played the Gully Slime riddim and pulled up everytime Wyclef & Eve went "BOH, BOH, BOH!!!". What started as a quick reggae set turned into an all out party set. I kinda took over (thanks for letting me live to the dj). Then I played "Party Like A Rockstar", and Eve got on the mic & did a hot freestyle over it. One thing led to another, then her dancers started performing to "What Y'all Want" & "Who's That Girl". The crowd was going crazy, and it was also getting more packed. That performance was a freebie. After that, 2 of Eve's male dancers started breakdance battling when I put on "Apache" & "Dance to the Drummer's Beat", and were killing it when Wyclef got inspired to do a couple breakdancing moves, and ended up flipping on stage. Even his bodyguard Beast did a 2-step on stage, which, if you know Beast, is a rare sight. It even inspired Juliet Lewis to get up and do her own dance on stage too.

If you were there, you were lucky enough to catch a very special night. What started out small ended up being a packed house. I went in on the 1's & 2's, and was feeding off Wyclef, Eve & the energy of the crowd and killed it. Everyone was coming up to me during my set and after, saying that I was killing it, no exaggeration. I mean, I was playing "Fame" and "Suavamente". I def think I was posessed by DJ Z Ramtha LOL

Hey y'all...

It's been a minute since I last blogged.. Hope everyone had a great New Year's! Well, mine was fantastic... We (Eve & I) performed at the Shore Club in Miami (check out Wireimage), and the party was hosted by Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. We killed it! Our show was our best one yet. Plus, we were surrounded by good people with great energy. A BIG shout out to Kookie, Leili, Sandra, Eric, Eugene, Mark, MOS, Anton, Soraya and most of all Eve for making it one of the best New Year's ever!!!
