“Sounds like it dripped out of a dark, diabolical wormhole…an imaginative, riveting album that keeps you both guessing and returning” – McKeesport Daily News

“Every once in a while, there appears on the scene an experimental band that easily manages to impress even the jaded. France’s Way to End is such a band, as its debut release, Desecrated Internal Journey, packs one hell of a wallop…If you are an old-school fan of majestic soundscapes (what subsequently became symphonic black metal) and technical experimentation that never loses sight of composition, then Desecrated Internal Journey is the road best taken. A most impressive debut” – Examiner.com

“The experiments on Desecrated Internal Journey don’t always work, and sometimes the sound is uneven. But the result is nonetheless interesting, even when the band isn’t as tight as they should be or let theatrics get in the way of songs. Way To End is a band with a distinct voice. Along with countrymates HYADNINGAR, they could be among the next big names lobbed about when black metal is discussed. This is a hell of a way to make a first impression” – About.com [4/5 rating]

“Something different, not the typical black metal fare…experiment with inharmonious and byzantine structure and progression, flagrantly challenging black metal norms, using disparity in the chronological design, offering an array of atmospheres…quite an achievement, very avant-garde but not so much so that it veers off into the noise of modern avant-garde music” – Metal-Rules.com

“You'll be unable to predict what is coming next…The music here is discordant at times, yet is always immensely listenable, and it just draws me in with each further note. There is just something infectious about it that won't let me turn it off….a good combination of the darkness of black metal and the playing skill of technical death metal, with a whole bunch of other uniqueness thrown in” – GaspETC.com

“Expands evil into unimaginable dimensions. And that by all means is not an understatement.  The band has such a unique train of thought that’s strong, apocalyptic, yet open-minded and bloody fucking brilliant…Hands down, this could be my favorite black metal release of 2009, for it’s definitely one of the most creative of the year…With a musical direction as deep as the abyss, I believe Way to End are going to keep expanding their sound until they are the chosen leaders” – SMNNews.com [9.5/10 rating]

“Way to End take an already noisome aspect of music and then rework the balance of extremity and challenge…Whilst the majority of the ingredients are sourced from their chosen genre, Way to End import from the avant garde, and so much of this album possesses a stark needling quality – they don't so much play this music as tattoo it onto the listener. The result is that work is required to harvest the best of what they offer; it will take a few listens, but eventually you'll see the wood for the trees” – Metal-Observer.com

“A strange and satisfying debut. It reminds me of EPHEL DUATH's black metal side. Images come to mind of creeping through labyrinthine Venice at night. If 20th century serial composers made black metal, this might have resulted. Skewed tonalities abound. Just when they threaten to collapse sideways, along come gorgeous acoustic guitars. The elegance and artistry have an ineffable Old World feel” – InvisibleOranges.com

“Mental, but brilliant at the same time. In some spots, it reminds me of another very old quirky band named DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA and possibly even a dash of early PAN-THY-MONIUM…I find myself going into a cerebral trance under its apocryphal, discordant and enchanting guidance. You must be prepared for a depressive and almost emotionally confusing ride with Desecrated Internal Journey, yet it is one that you will be compelled to take, and if your mind can handle it, you will be better off for it. In more simple terms, this album is a depressing, draining, dark and desperate psychological mindfuck that you will want to take again and again” – Canadianassault.com

“Pretty strange artwork, don't you think? Well, guess what – the music is quite like that too. That is a great aspect about black metal: it allows room for creativity and weirdness to sneak in quite naturally” – Seaoftranquility.org [4/5 rating]

“This is a true journey into a very complex and multi-layered released that reeks of brilliance…by far one of the best black metal albums of 2009, and being the band’s first release, I can’t wait for their next album. Until then, this release and all of its intricate elements will have to do for now” – Infernalmasquerade.com [90/100 rating]

“Haunting…fans of harsh black metal with some newer experimental and even progressive influences will want to check out Way to End as soon as possible” – Minacious webzine

“If DREAM THEATER, VOIVOD and MAYHEM all formed one group, it would be Way To End…if you’re musically adventurous, then this is mandatory – need to own, period” – Absolute Zero Media webzine

Simultaneously sensory overload and sensory depravation, WAY TO END's "Desecrated Internal Journey" is everything its title promises... and more. With alchemical magick otherwise elusive to the impoverished, unwashed herds, WAY TO END weave sinuous, disarmingly dissonant spells of elevated-consciousness composition, "Black Metal" the starting point but by no means the end of their journey. In fact, these French enigmas bask in The Infinite, the "more" that equals more/more/more: "Desecrated Internal Journey" is the path they walk, the path on which they beckon the listener/vessel. Writhing and wending, contorting and distorting, it very literally is a WAY TO END.

Way to End's first album "Desecrated Internal Journey" is now out on Debemur Morti Productions.
