Hello folks. Just a brief news update. We've modified our dusty old website with a blogspot account so as to provide news updates with greater frequency. This will act as a sort of placeholder site until we get our stuff together for a proper overhaul. The old site will no longer be updated other than new releases which will be accessible through the blog. Please go to www.louisvillenoise.com to check it out and check back often as we're going to be adding updates regularly. We're very pleased to announce the upcoming release of the new Second Story Man album, Screaming Secrets. It will be released on December 5th on both CD and LP. This record has been over two years in the making and is easily the best work they have ever done. The release show will be at Skull Alley on 12/5 with openers Straight A's and Softcheque. Evergreen Wholeness of the Soul can now be ordered at www.louisvillenoise.com and is available locally at Ear Xtacy Records. It will pick up national distribution on October 27th. You can also purchase it as a digital download right now at www.thinkindie.com and it will be up on Itunes in the next few weeks. We would also like to thank everyone who made it out to the release show last month and made it such a great night. Also of note is that Former Evergreen/Cinderblock singer Dave Pollard will have his art on display THIS FRIDAY (October 9) at Liberty Tattoo & Art Parlor on the corner of 3rd Street and M Street (down the street from UofL). The show runs from 7 to 10pm. Metroschifter's European tour commences next month and the dates can be found at www.louisvillenoise.com. Their newest album Carbonistas is available now along with a new "greatest hits" style collection entitled Whatever's Wrong With Me Is Here To Stay. Go to our site for more info. Thanks.

Caught a brief mention of The Teeth in Paul Curry's Leo column last week. The passage is reprinted here because The Teeth rule and you should know that, too....
"I took her to see The Teeth at the Swan Dive a couple nights later; we stood in a room with a ceiling I could scrape the top of my head on, among a crowd of no more than 20 people, and we agreed that this was the band of the weekend: sophisticated punk energy, wrangled into complicated rhythms and incomprehensible messages. I will be looking to see them again... maybe I'll be able to make out some of their lyrics."

"Carbonistas" -- MetroschifterFirst, some background for the uninitiated. In the early '90s, Scott Ritcher and his gang of skater friends started a record label called Slamdek, which released some of the better punk, hardcore and indie rock released in the first half of the decade. He fronted punk bands, the first called Sunspring and later called Metroschifter, and he was something of a local celebrity to the city's underground music scene, a perfect example of a guy who was all DIY. Ritcher has since decamped to Sweden, and “Carbonistas” shows much more anger and darkness than Ritcher has ever expressed in some 20 years of making music in Louisville. Ritcher's music was always loud and frantic, but never dark. “Sometimes I could murder the people who have hurt me/But I'd hate to stoop down to their level/And show them that I care,” begins the aptly titled “Murder.” Other songs include “It's All F---ed Up In Dixie” and “America Is a Prison.” Sure, lyrics aren't always a reflection of the writer's mindset, but Ritcher was always known to write what he feels — which is what drew angsty, smartass teens to him. “Carbonistas” is a most frightening album from the nicest Louisvillian expat in Sweden.
