I'm all for leaving comments on myspace pages but it seems like most comments left on the Worwyk page are ads for bands, services, videos, promotions, etc. I don't mind comments as long as when I "comment back" I am able to leave a Worwyk ad/graphic as well. If you leave a comment and when I try to comment back it says that "html has been disabled", your comment will be deleted. Again, I don't mind people leaving stuff on the Worwyk page even though most of it has nothing to do with Worwyk, but if you don't allow me to comment back with an ad and link to the Worwyk store then you won't be able to leave your comments on the Worwyk page. Hate to be like this but either we support each other or we don't...

Metal Life Magazine has reviewed Malignant on their website and the review is below. Please check out their excellent site at Metal Life Magazine when you get a chance!

Haunting vocals, sometimes raspy, sometimes clear, floating over intricate, progressive influenced metal. Lots of blistering solos, melodic tempo changes and crisp drums all blend together into a tight wall of sound. Jason Russo's voice reaches high and low demonstrating his wide range and talent behind the mic. Worwyk is a studio only project headed by Tom Vitacco. Tom writes all the music and handles all the mixing, mastering and artwork. He also samples all the bass, drums and keyboard sequences. Jason was brought on to fulfill the vocal role after former vocalist, Mike O'Hara, was no longer available.

Each track on this CD showcases the guitar talent of Tom Vitacco and the vocal range and talent of Jason Russo. They sound like they were destined to play together in a band. While the previous releases of Worwyk were good, this CD far surpasses them.

There are elements of several metal genres peppered here and there, but they all combine to form a sound that is unique to Worwyk. The songs vary in tempo, but they always deliver the goods. Even the power ballads, "As You Die" and "Circle of Trust" have a strength all of their own. Stand out tracks include “Consequences” and “Greed”.

As the CD spins, you are surprised again and again with the variety of sounds you hear. Intricate, detailed solos permeate the air as Tom's music flows through you. Musically, this is a very original CD. You will not be able to say that this band is just another "sounds like so-and-so" band. You can tell that a lot of time and creativity went into writing and recording this CD. "Malignant" bleeds emotion and is an excellent example of how traditional, melodic metal should sound. This is a refreshing CD that does not care about the rules of genre labels. The band played the songs they wanted to play and now you get to listen to them in all their glory.

The online metal site Metal to Infinity reviewed Malignant and you can read the review below.

Sometimes we are really stunned about the material that we receive on our desk. Now and then, a totally unknown band delivers a package with an album that blows our socks off. I must admit Worwyk for having this appropriate talent.

A little bit searching on the internet taught me some more about this band that is hailing from the ....USA..... First of all, this isn't a band but a project of only one man: Thomas Vitacco.  He released already 7 albums in the past, and with this 8th release 'Malignant', he had some little vocals back up with the helping hand or throat of Jason Russo (also Darkling). These two men recorded 'Malignant' with a lot of passion for Heavy Metal music, and it's really astonishing that Thomas plays all instruments; he is also responsible for mixing, mastering and all things that come together with the release of an album.

The first track 'The Mind' opens with a scream straight out of hell and musical wise we get a head banging masterpiece presented. The second song is totally diverse, as 'Prosperity' is more into the older hard rock style. Also the way that the vocals are brought into this track refers to the 80's on occasion. Track #3 'As You Die' is starting really slow with an acoustic guitar intro and vocals that lift this song to heights! And this is exactly the way that this album is going further.

Once you have listened to all tracks, you will have the need to play it once again, and again. The strongest point, and at the same time also the only critical comment is the variety. Some songs are really into heavy metal, while others go into a totally different direction. Some will like it; others will reject it, because the band (read Thomas Vitacco) will have to decide what path he's going to follow in the future. I would suggest focusing on the heavy metal aspect, because there are really jewels on 'Malignant', and those tracks are all in the Heavy Metal style.

My favorites of this album are: 'As You Die' (what a cool chorus, mixed with the acoustic part), title track 'Malignant' (title track and best arrangement on this album) and 'Selling Sickness' (what an aggression, I just love this up speed anthem).

Conclusion: WORWYK was a real pleasure to explore and this band and name will be etched in my brain for the next coming years.  I hope that we will hear of this band in the future, and I will be curious what the direction will be. Anyway, check this band on the internet and make sure to order your own copy!

My rating: 88/100
