Tallan is now available for your school, PTA, Cub Scout, church, library or any function for kids.

Tallan has put together a GREAT MOTIVATIONAL show designed to take kids and adults on a journey of wonder.  Tallan is not only a musician, he'll also a budding magician.  Tallan's show will include his 3 M's: Music, Magic and Motivation.  Tallan will do that by utilizing stories, examples of achievment as well as disappointments.  His shows are entertaining, motivating for both young and old.  Tallan will deliver a message that kids can use today and will remember for a lifetime.

The things that makes Tallan's show different from all other seminars out there is Tallan is a kid who has acheived many things in his life already and can deliver a message that kids can relate to because he's still a kid.  Most companies that do children senminars, the seminars are given by adults telling kids what they should do and how they should act.  The MAJOR difference with Tallan's seminars is that Tallan is still a kid and children can more directly associate with him because after all he is directly on their level in life.  Kids learn better from someone they can connect with.  Children connect and learn best from Tallan.

Children are receptive to many things that adults think are beyond them.  Tallan's seminars encourage kids to first of all THINK.  All of Tallan's seminars are constructed for a certain purpose and points of action.  They are also custom designed for specific age groups.  Some of the points Tallan will cover with the children are points most adults don't think about.

Tallan's seminars will set forth a positive message to his audience.  He'll cover things like:

Discovering the magic of believing in yourself and the power that is created to carry them out to get success in their school life as well as home life.

Learn how to set goals and how to work towards the end result.

Learn how to learn from others.

Learn how to get back up after getting knocked down.

Learn when you help others you actually help yourself.

Learn that you receive by giving first.

Learn that you control your world.

Learn how to chase after your dreams.

Learn how to find your passion early in life.

And so much, much more........

Tallan has a message to deliver and if he can inspired just one child in the audience it is worth it.  The thing we found is that it is never just one, it is many that get inspired both young and old to want to achieve more in life.  Tallan will set them on the right path to make their life the exciting adventure it was meant to be.

If you would like to discuss the possiblities or would just like more information please feel free to contact us either on Myspace or by email at
tallan@tallanlatz.com. If you would prefer to talk on the phone please contact Carl at 262-742-3947.

We look forward to working with you to deliver a seminar that will change lives.

PEACE!!!!!

There is so much to write so I'm only going to hit some points otherwise this will be 2 miles long.

Tallan's trip to Memphis started out on a down note.  We were planning to go see his Uncle Wayne before heading to Memphis.  His Uncle Wayne lives in Crossville, TN.  Tallan's uncle was sick with cancer and we were hoping to go down there to visit and spend some time with him.  Unfortunately we didn't make it in time.  We were planning on leaving at 3AM on Monday morning so we could get down there early Monday evening.  The clock alarm went off at 2AM and at 2:10AM the phone rang with the news that we were too late.  Wayne passed at about the same time our alarm went off.  The trip to Crossville was quiet and seemed to take forever.  We arrived at 10PM to a bunch of hugs and tears.

The next few days were spent remembering Wayne and what he meant to everyone.  We met family members we never knew before and they made us feel like family they've known forever.  We want to THANK them for making us feel like family from the minute they met us.  Wayne truely was surrounded by people that loved him and for that we are very appreciative.

One thing I like everyone to know is what kind of person Tallan really is.  While we were attending Wayne's wake, Tallan decided he wanted to write a song for Uncle Wayne.  Tallan wrote a song for his mother called 4U, he took that song and rewrote it for his Uncle Wayne.  In the middle of the funeral service, Tallan took a chair and placed it by the casket and sung his song to his Uncle Wayne.  Tallan was very composed and sang the song perfectly.  The priest doing the service was even in tears and called Tallan a gift from God, which we truely believe he is.  We laid Tallan's Uncle Wayne to rest later that day.  The remainder of that day was spent with family.

So now it's Thursday morning and it's time to head over to Memphis.  We all wanted to just head home but we knew that there was business to take care of , so after some breakfast we drove the 5 hours to Memphis.

We arrive at our hotel the Doubletree and called our good friend Kurt Swanson.  Kurt is the photographer that has taken a lot of the killer pictures of Tallan that we have posted over the last year or so.  We hooked up with Kurt and went and had a bite to eat.  We then went into Club 152 where Tallan was going to be playing the next day.  The guy at the door was kind enough to let us in free of charge since Tallan was going to be performing there the next day.  Hanging with Tallan sometimes has its perks (LOL).  There we watched a few bands but the one that stuck out that day was Ty Curtis and his band.  (They went on to take second place at the IBC's).  After that we met Ty in the hotel lobby and had a little chat, then we hit the sack.

Friday morning we finally met up with the rest of Tallan's band, Dave, Alex and Dan.  They drove 15 hours to be in Memphis, so we want to thank them GREATLY for being part of this experience.  Without these guys stepping in at the LAST minute this would not have been possible.

All the youth bands had to meet at Club 152 at noon for orientation before the youth showcase started.  We get to the Club and all the youth acts were gathering there, all in all there were 21 bands.  Very nice showing for the first time IBC put on this event.

Tallan was playing at Club 152 so we just stayed as all the other bands that were playing at different clubs went off to get set up.  All the kids were antsy and very excited about playing on Beale Street.  I noticed Tallan was just sitting there like it was no big deal, so I asked him if he was nervous and he told me "Dad, this is just another gig."  So while all the other kids were checking out the stage and getting ready, Tallan proceeded to take a phone call and chat for a little while.  It was no big deal to him.

Tallan and his band (The Tallan Noble Latz Band) played at 1:30pm, they were up second, so we didn't have a long wait.  The first band played and were awesome, then it was Tallan's turn.  What happened next created a huge buzz on Beale Street.  As soon as Tallan was announced to play, the place started filling up fast and by the time he was done with his 20 minute set it was packed tight, shoulder to shoulder with no room to move.  When he was done the place emptied out to the normal crowd.  We later found out that people were calling friends in other venues and people were running from other venues into Club 152.  One of the club managers said he's never seen anything like that before on Beale Street.  Club 152's manager called friends over at BB King's and told them to get over there now because they had to see what was happening and that they would never believe it.  Needless to say they came over and took turns watching Tallan and the guys perform then ran back so other BB King employees could watch as well.

Needless to say Tallan and the Guys tore it up.  The 1st song was Buddy Guy's "Dang, right I got the Blues"  About 2 minutes into the song Tallan broke his B string but finished the song without missing a beat.  The faces in the crowd said it all,"Unbelievable" One of the other musicians that was performing after Tallan let Tallan use his guitar while a new string was being put on Tallan's guitar.  This fine young gentleman was named Colin White.  Thanks a ton Colin!!!!  Tallan strapped on the Colin's guitar but before he played his 2nd song, he took a minute to talk about his uncle and told the crowd that his set was dedicated to Uncle Wayne and that this next song was expecailly for him. Tallan was still very much in the dumps because of his Uncle Wayne.  Tallan took his playing to a whole new level, the next song was an improv jam.  He played with such emotion and every note was heart felt.  Tallan gave Colin back his guiatr and strapped on his Tradition Guitar and was back at her.  The next song was one of Tallan's originals about what the state of WI and other musicians have done to him (that's a whole other blog thing).  The name of the song is "Other World" and Tallan kicked it up another notch.  The jam packed house went crazy as Tallan finished his set and the crowd went back to where they all came from.  Needless to say Tallan came down to Memphis to kick butt and delivered like a real tropper dispite the circumstances.

Everywhere we went for the next few days people stopped him for pictures, autographes or just to tell him that they truely loved his performance.  But Tallan wasn't done performing yet.  We walked across the street to BB King's and Tallan had people in there stopping him and talking with him.  The manager from BB's appraoched us and said he wanted Tallan to perform at BB's later that night and Tallan said sure no problem.  Again it's just another gig.

So back to the hotel for a little well deserved rest but none was to be had.  Tallan didn't feel like resting even though he wasn't set to perform at BB's till later that night.  So back out we went  to see the other Grafton Blues Association (BIG THANKS TO THEM) Sue Debaco and Wise Fools play.  Sue and the guys had a Killer set and then off to BB's we went for Tallan's set.  We arrived and Tallan was starting to get really tired, so he just sat in the back of the room with his mom.  While he was sitting there he had a constant stream of people coming up and talking with him.  It seemed that the staff at BB's were promoting that he would be appearing there, so again the place was pack solid.

It was now showtime again.  Tallan got up with Jonathon Long and his band.  They played about 25 minutes or so.  Jonathon would say a key for a song and Tallan would just do his thing and he meshed with them like he's been playing with them forever.  It was really cool to see the BB crowd go crazy.  Now Tallan was going to sing a song.  Tallan comes up to the mike and says, "Since we're in BB's house I think I'll do The Thrill is Gone."  And needless to say he delivered again.  The faces again told the story.  One thing that was really cool is when Tallan was playing all the professional photographers that were there to take pictures were pushing people out of the way to get in front of Tallan.   Tallan was give the anytime your in Memphis deal.  Which is anytime he's in Memphis he's always welcome to play at BB's!  After a long day we went back and crashed.

The next morning we woke up, ate breakfast and went to a guitar store, of coarse.  We hooked up briefly the day before with Brian from St. Blues Guitars in Memphis.  He told us to stop by before we headed out because he want to chat with us.  So we drive over to his store which is right across from Sun Studios.  Brian spent some time with us telling Tallan about the history of St Blues guitars.  He handed Tallan a guitar and Tallan went into the amp room and had a blast trying different guitars and then finally finding the one he loved.  Brian was blown away by Tallan and said he's never seen anything like this at the age of 9.  So Tallan added another guitar company to his list of endorsments.  If you get a chance to play one of the St Blues guitars, you should try it Tallan really likes them.

Then we started the 8 hour trip back to Joliet to spend time with family and to return Tallan's Grandpa's new Yukon that he let us use for the trip.

Sunday we woke up and set out to see Tallan's Great Grandma who's 94.  While we were seeing her Tallan performed for all the seniors at the home.  He did it again, he brought a smile to a  lot of faces.

Then after visiting for a couple of hours, we were starting home until Tallan saw a Guitar Center that we HAD to stop at.  After an hour there we started home agian and finally made it home safely.

We want to Thank everyone that made this possible, Grafton Blues Association, Dave, Alex and Dan.  We want to Thank Kurt for spending the weekend with us, it wouldn't have been the same without you.  And to all of the friends we seen (I'd list you all but I don't want to forget anyone, so you know who you are) and to all the new friends we met, we appreciate you all.  Til next year!

It was a very long and stressful week, with some high and some lows but an experience in life that will never be forgotten by all.

PEACE!!!!!!!

Excerpt from a MySpace Bulletin from SRV Ride and Concert:

8-year-old blues prodigy Tallan "T-Man" Latz will perform at the 2008 SRV Ride & Concert with Bugs Henderson & The Shuffle Kings!!

In addition, Tallan will also appear at BOTH event pre-parties, will be a parade leader from Hooters to Cowboys, and will also be at the After Party / All Star Jam hosted by Wes Jeans & Lance Lopez.

Last week MySpace wrongfully deleted Tallan's myspace profile (page is managed by his father), and he lost over 10,000 friends

Everyone SHOW YOUR SUPPORT, add Tallan Latz to your friends!!

www. myspace. com/tmanlatz

Last week Tallan made international headlines due to the state of Wisconsin banning him from performing in bars. Apparently (in Wisconsin) it's legal for a minor do drink in a bar if he's with his parents, but as soon as his father hands Tallan his guitar to perform it is considered "child endangerment".

While you're on his page, take a listen to Tallan's interview aired on BBC.
