Hey Crazies,

We have been selected (out of nearly 1000 bands!) as one of the Top 10 finalists to perform on the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco on Sunday, Sept. 21st. We'll get to play with some really cool bands like Tokyo Police Club, The Kills, The Racontuers, Tegan & Sara and Vampire Weekend.

It's all taking place on imeem.com, the hip new site for bands and their fans. We already know the judges like our music, but part of the judging is based on the number of comments we receive on our video below (brand new live footage from SXSW!):

And on our entry song "Rock And A Hard Place":

There's also a blog on the Treasure Island Festival page where you can tell them who you would like to see play on the festival (that would be us:)

Treasure Island Music Festival Blog

So, pretty please (if you haven't already), go sign up on imeem and let your voice be heard!!

Comment our video, our song and the Treasure Island Music Festival blog and send your boys to rock the stage at the festival!

Check out our new page on imeem here and "friend" us:

It’s like Woodstock with BBQ. And without the mud.

This year was even more fun than last since we knew our way around Austin a bit better. Got to see lots of bands, played three showcases, met a lot of cool people, ate a lot of BBQ and drank more than a few Lonestars :)

Still waiting on more pics but here are a few. Thanks to Adriana and Jen!

CREEKSHOW Showcase @ the Creekside Lounge

BBQ at Stubbs with Mike Newman from the Grill and radio personality Polychronopolis

Landshark Showcase @ Troubadour Saloon

Our new favorite band MINK @ the Landshark Showcase. We all want to marry the drummer :)

With Gary Jay from Landshark

On the streets with Lauren from ROCKET

....and the Dynatone Records crew

We took Polychronopolis to Coyote Ugly for his "official" initiation into The Craze - a "body shot". It’s kind of like being jumped into a gang but more pleasant. Here are the pictures that are fit to print:)

That look on Poly’s face says it all!

We would like to thank all the cool people who were a part of this incredible and CRAZE-Y week!

Dynatone Records, Mike Newman and The Grill, Gary Jay and Landshark Promotion, Adam, Trey and Guitar Hero III with the Texas Rockfest, Jenny McPhee from TKO, Polychronopolis, KUSTOM Amps for the awesome backline @ The CREEKSHOW, MINK for the bass amp and being so cool, Aiden and Anthony - our road crew who made moving in and out of the venues so smooth and Adriana and Jennifer for all the cool pics. If we forgot anyone - don’t hate:)

Rock and Roll Report Blitz: The Craze

THE CRAZE: Introducing The CrazeJust when you think you have me pegged for an all hard rock kinda guy may I introduce you to The Craze. Evoking all that you loved about New Wave (go ahead, you can admit to liking the stuff), The Craze belt out some very angular rock and roll and on songs like Never Knew they throw in some great classic hard playing rock and roll, regardless of how you want to classify it. Kiss Yourself doesn't do much for me but the aforementioned Never Knew and Turn On My Radio rocked my socks and Baby Blue is a beautiful, melodic mid-tempo rocker that gets better with every listen.

The thing I have always liked about rock and roll, and the reason I refer to The Rock and Roll Report as a "niche-free zone" is that I refuse to pigeon-hole the site and by extension myself to one rock and roll niche. Whether it's stuff like the New Wavey sound of The Craze or the harder edge of the previous blitz bands, it really doesn't matter to me. Good rock and roll is good rock and roll and I know it when I hear it. Why would anyone want to limit their enjoyment of music by limiting their choices? That's beyond me.

Anyhow, enjoy The Craze by heading over to their MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/thecrazetheband and have a listen and then watch a video and enjoy.

Hey Crazies, we just shot a video for "Turn On My Radio" with the amazing Scott Culver who has directed videos for The Early November, Hellogoodbye, Yellowcard, Silent Civilian, and a ton of others. It was a long 12-hour day and it pretty much turned into a party after the first few hours! We thought we would share some pics of the shoot with you. Special thanks to Jimmy Cantillon and his crack staff for producing the shoot!
