So I'm gonna take a break from Patchwork for a while.  I feel good about the new record and it's definitely a personal high point.  The boys from the 'Heels really pulled through with the rock and the most recent incarnation of the band, which was a 4 piece (Josh Harty gtr, Chris Sasman drms, Josh Tyack bass) was really bad ass.  I feel a bit weird about driving around doing "Patchwork" shows when it's just me.  I always hated the idea of going by my name but I'm slowly warming to the idea and coming to terms with my folksingerlyness.  I think more people will be checking that (Patchwork) page so I'll probably just update that calendar until the new record is done...

Ok, so I'm going to be starting a "solo" record in the coming weeks.  While on the last tour supporting Take me down... I wrote my face off, which feels great, got in some super awesome collaborative writing with my good pals Kacy Crowley and Dustin Welch while in Austin.  I feel like they're the best songs I've written or co-written and I'm gonna try and keep it more minimal and live production-wise, unlike the Patchwork stuff which gets layered to oblivion... not that I'm not into crazy big arrangements, I just wanna do a sort of stripped down thing.  AND now available in Madison is one of the most valuable musical violinist geniouses, Shawn David Drake.  We are working on some new songs and arrangements with lots of floaty harmonies and awesomeness.  I'm hoping to get into Record mode after a couple weeks of finalizing tunes and arranging and that sort of thing...
