Well, it's all over but the shouting. And The Hotel Utah Saloon keeps calling us to say that there is indeed still some shouting going on all these days after our last show.
We had a blast over these last years and want to thank all of you out there who made it possible.
Going forward, if you'd like to find out what Nik is up to in Austin or what the rest of the guys are doing in SF just send an email to demrobberbarons@gmail.com.
One of us jokers will get back to you and give you the dish on the latest.
You can also keep a lookout here on the robber barons myspace page for new projects from the former RB's. http://www.myspace.com/therobberbarons.

Keep your powder dry y'all!

Howdy folks. It is with mixed emotions that we send out to you our last Robber Barons update. On Friday June 26, The Robber Barons will be playing their last show. The Big Farewell Show will take place at famous Hotel Utah in San Francisco. (500 4th St. @ Bryant)
Special guests will include Ledbetter and His Best Bet and Gayle Lynn and The Hired Hands. The last few years have been awesome and support from all of you out there has definitely been the gas in our engine. To say thanks, we’ll be giving away a few really cool goodies at the show, including a limited edtion commemorative Fillmore-style poster designed and made by our good friend Sam at MCL Screenworks. (http://www.myspace.com/mclscreenworkssfca)
Nik will be relocating to Austin and this will be the perfect time to come out and say goodbye and enjoy a wonderful ‘last chance to see ‘em live’ set from the band.

We love y'all,
TRB

Hey Hombres!

This here update is for those of you that for one reason or another have had to drop out of the bar and club scene in the bay area. Maybe you've got kids, a dog, a job that makes you get up at the crack of dawn...
Whatever the reason, here's a chance to rock once again! The Robber Barons appear on 5.31 at Thee Parkside Sunday Twang Extravaganza!!!  (1600 17th St., San Francisco)  The whole damn thing starts at 4pm!!! And it's all ages and dog friendly. So bring your kids and your dog on over for some cold beers, good food and great music. The Gold Diggers kick it off at 4 followed by yer pals The Robber Barons. As usual, check the 'upcoming shows' section for the details.  Oh,  by the way, the show is 100% free!!!

Rattle Them Bones

Good March to ya all. The Barons are currently in line for their own
piece of the stimulus package. While the government whines and pines
over who to throw money at next, we've decided to help celebrate the
current economic excitement with our own Tax Stimulus Party at the Elbo
Room (647 Valencia St. in SF) on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 - YES,
that's tax day! So while your hard earned money is going to prop up
mismanaged, failing US industries, you can prop yourself up on the bone
rattlin', spine chillin', no-government-money-gettin' Robber Barons
soul train. So just after you mail that tax return on April 15, scuttle
on over and we'll cheer you up with a few of Nik's new uplifters - you
know he writes the tender ones. The Fighting Supaks are also on the
bill!!!!

Yours in the Barons,

Hello. My name is Gus. I'm a long time confidante of the Robber Barons. Unfortunately, the boys cannot make it to the computer right now, so they've asked me to provide you with this update. After surviving New Year's Eve (barely), The Robber Barons have been busy getting their blood transfusions in preparation for their next show. Once they're up and functioning again they'll be working on a freshly tailored set of music to present for your listening pleasure at the venerable old Bottom of the Hill. While many San Francisco rock clubs have come and gone, B.O.T.H. has been going strong for nearly two decades. Believe it or not this will be the first time The RBs have played there, so they plan to make this a special show. Come have a listen on January 22. Check their 'upcoming shows' section for more details. Thank you.

Hey,

We want to thank everyone who came out the Cafe Du Nord last night for the Americana Music Feast.  Today's hangover was totally worth it!  An awesome night! Thanks to The Fighting Supaks, Kemo Sabe and Belle Monroe for burning the house down with us.  And thanks to Shelby Ash for putting it all together.  Enjoy the holidays, we love y'all.

We've been underground for a bit as our pedal steel maestro, Jody, has been away on honeymoon after getting hitched. We've been making merry as of late but are now preparing to get back to bizness. For those of you in the Bay Area, The Robber Barons will be playing their last Bay Area show of 2008 on Friday November 28. This'll be a very special 'Day After Thanksgiving' show at the majestic Café du Nord in San Francisco. (2170 Market St. SF, CA) We're very honored to be a part of the traditional Turkey Trot 2008 Show. We'll be joined by some of the best bluegrass, alt-country and punk-grass bands in the world. Yup, I said 'in the world'. It promises to be an Americana Music Feast. Come on out and work off some of that pumpkin pie.
