"An infectiously funky introduction to the album, Triumph of The Olympian kicks off Big Boss Man’s Full English Beat Breakfast in great style and as a set opener would have the masses dancing towards the floor in front of the stage.
We’ve got 14 scorching hot tracks here, mainly instrumentals but there are the occasional lyrics, Black Eye (I Believed in Love) for example, but all perfectly executed in a wonderful retro style. If you don’t know Big Boss Man then think heavy organ, fuzzy guitars, Farfisa, driving bass, percussion, three cool guys and the good times. Yeah...
Then there’s the almost cheesy sounding 60s/70s film soundtrack numbers, Full Brazilian, except they’re not cheesy, they’re groovy baby because BBM have made them so. Right? And it’s true; Trev, Nass and Scot have worked their magic on the eclectic selection of funky sounds they’ve used for inspiration and reworked them into cool, or cooler, mixing upfront/Mod beat sounds with samba, classic Hammond with upbeat handclaps, and they’ve made it work so well it hurts.
That’s hurting your feet as you dance from beginning to end. Even the shouts and gentle harmonies they’ve added sparingly in some backgrounds work well. Clown Face sounds like, well you’ll know when you hear it, but I couldn’t put my finger on it last night, then Hairy Mary has the soulful groove while Slaphead’s Demise began like The Beatles’ Taxman before going into something else I can’t remember and then even borrowing a lick from a Madness late album track. But it’s all good I promise you, and then some.
This is an album you most definitely should own and one which other musicians will be jealous of. "

As usual the band have made good use of their extensive collection of vintage (and temperamental) gear for Full English. Head honcho Nasser Bouzida (a.k.a the Bongolian) plays mini-VIP, Farfisa and Hammond organs, Wurlitzer piano, Moog synths and drums and percussion. Driving fuzz guitar and bass beat is provided by bassman Scott Milsom "the Hawk" and guitarist Trev Harding. The band have once again created a superb spaced-out selection of prime 60’s inspired dancefloor tracks: Northern Soul vibes with ‘Black Eye’, Garage sounds with ‘The Bloater’, Boogaloo with ‘Pies and Pastiche’ and even Samba with ‘Full Brazilian’.

Following their Christmas single You Give A Little Love last December, London eccentrics Silvery release their 5th single on Monday 15th June 2009, previously featured on a live BBC Radio 1 Lamacq session and a standout track from their much talked about debut album Thunderer & Excelsior (which made the ARTROCKER and ORGAN top releases of 2008 lists).

The Nishikado EP features a new mix of the lead song (inspired by Toshihiro Nishikado - the creator of Space Invaders in the 1970's) and 3 brand new tracks: Identity, Murder Holes and The Public Purse. Think Sparks at their most Glam Rock, mixed up with all sorts of musical tricks Blur and Bowie would be proud of.

Wow. Take a deep breath before you enter the crazy world of Silvery. The grandiose circus music of The Nishikado takes you on a whirlwind with its relentless and spiralling organs. The cacophony of different sounds can all get a bit confusing, until the chorus when the glorious mess seems to find it's way. The furious pace of the EP will have you bouncing off the walls and collapsed in an exhausted heap in the corner by the end. In the words of me Dad, "What a bloody racket." But an utterly exhilarating racket, it has to be said.

Silvery have produced a tribute to the one and only Toshihiro Nishikado to whom we give gratitude for the remarkable invention that is Space Invaders - those little critters everyone knows and loves. Clearly, Nishikado is a hero to Silvery: this tribute could bring a tear to the eyes of the most hardened cynic. Following an initial pop-rock guitar-drums combo, a complete shift in direction transpires to what seems like a march through a warped funfair, for the likes of Susan Boyle, some might say. With wild synth riffs and vocals resembling David Bowie, Silvery suck you in to the unrestrained indie madness. Identity and Murder Holes continue the fairground theme, with unruly synth sections distinguishing Silvery from current and past indie bands.
