So, the story behind the random mini-track that has suddenly appeared on my profile.

Five days ago, one of my good friends was talking to me about her problems, and we were both generally feeling like crap, and out of nowhere-- I wrote a few lines, frustrated at being unable to do anything for her.

But I haven't been able to compose much for the months I've been songwriting, in spite of having accumulated enough writing to fill up a small notebook. Not even to mention lack of time or inspiration, I'm also...very self-conscious about my own music. It's barely classifiable as music.

Then I realized that I just write and sing for the sheer love of it, anyhow; I'm not looking to make a full career of this, as much as I would love to. I'm a student. And in the good spirit of anything having to do with self-consciousness-- like I told another friend a couple of days ago-- I usually scare myself out of stage/microphone fright by making myself do something.

So I recorded today of all days: I'm sick, have a sore throat, no vocal control whatsoever, and-- as you'll hear at the end-- have a rather nasty cough. (I stopped recording before the last two lines because I was coughing too badly. So this isn't complete, but I haven't finished writing the song, either.)

Yet I'm making an attempt to overcome my microphone fright, because I love music, and made myself do this.
