August 1, 2008 Emmabodafestivalen!
Meeting up in the studio at ten thirty. Kicki a very good friend of ours is coming with us to drive. It's not that far this time, only like a four hour drive at the most, that's nice.
It's Johans birthday today. He's going thirty, and I have planned a little surprise for him..
while we're up on stage.
It's a really warm and sunny day today as well and air condition in the car is shining with it's absence. We also forgot to bring any cd's with us… again. It's my mothers car, the radio doesn't work and the only cd's she's got is Alice in videoland, and one mix cd that we listened to the last trip… nine hours. Rod steward, Elton John, Gloria Gaynor and occasionally Rolling Stones but we're pretty sick of it by now.
Dominique always end's up on the sunny side of the car, every single time, it's actually pretty amazing. After about 2 hours he had enough so we stopped for gas and place switching.. Somehow the road changed direction as well so poor Dominique ended up in the sun again. HA ha ha!
We arrived at the hotel to meet up with Alex who had been in Stockholm to rehearse with Melody Club. The hotel had this kind of ski resort touch to it with allot of stuffed animals hanging everywhere… I don't like!
We changed and planned a little more for the birthday celebrating. I was actually really nervous about it so I think I went over in like a hundred times with the others so they knew exactly when and how. The plan was that I would, after a certain song, jump down to the crowd and ask them to sing happy birthday to Johan while the others went to this bag I snuck in with champagne, balloons, confetti, flowers and all kinds of stuff and just throw everything at and on him! And the most important thing was to keep Johan totally unaware of everything!
The show was pretty early 6.45 so we drove straight from the hotel to the backstage area to get our stuff ready and fix us up!
Show time!
The crowd was insane and so were we. I think it was one of our best shows performance wise, and the celebrating part went like a charm. He was totally surprised and really glad, the entire stage crew joined us on stage as well and sung for him! So I'd like to thank both the stage crew and the audience for their beautiful singing effort!!!
After the show we drank a lot of champagne and beers backstage! Kicki drove the car back to the hotel and I went along as company. And after a long walk back we meet up with the others in front of the main stage.. waiting for JUSTICE! I forgot to mention that I saw STEREO TOTAL earlier and they kicked major ass!!! I absolutely love their keyboard player!!
Anyway, we were sitting in a group of peoples and drinking and having fun when, all of a sudden some peoples came crashing in on us.. This was a couple of hours later and no one seem to remember any details but somehow someone landed on me (we think) and crushed my foot… and I was in some serious pain, crying like crazy! Alex, as the good friend he is, carried me across the area straight to the beer tent and bought me a beer, ha ha! It helped a little.. but something was very wrong so I was carried to the first aid tent were they wrapped my foot with bandage and told me to go straight to a hospital. Which I of course didn't, I figured It would just go away and I would be fine in the morning. Unfortunaly I missed both JUSTICE and LADY TRON but I had to take a cab back to the hotel and sleep the pain away (according to my plan)
The next morning when I woke up the main was much, much worse and since my mother, who was visiting my older sister near by was going to pick me up anyway I called her earlier so we went straight to the hospital!
After a lot of waiting examinations and X-ray they told me that the foot wasn't broken, at least they didn't think it was…??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, DON'T THINK IT IS?? They had seen something on the X-ray but they weren't sure what it was. So they told me to wait a week or to and if it's not better it's probably broken! Okidoki!!
So now I am back home, trapped in my own apartment with a pair of crutches.. Tried to get down the stairs today, which I seriously wish I wouldn't have done!
Well well, hopefully it's better next week or I mean it has to be.. We got 2 shows then!
Take care and watch out for drunk peoples!
Peace

26/7 HEDEMORA
So, we we're suppose to meet up outside our studio (as always) and pack our things and leave at 9.30 AM. I woke up from this endless annoying ringing.. It was Johan screaming where the hell is everyone? I've been waiting here for 20 minutes.. So, I overslept a little. Johan is the one who's always late. I called Alex, to tell him that Johan was waiting outside and to let him in. There is only one key and Aex aka "the master of misplacing keys" has it…? When Alex answered I could easily tell that he was asleep as well. I packed a bag in like 2 minutes with god knows what in it and ran to the studio.. It's only two blocks away so it didn't take THAT long.
The festival, "Daldansen" is (yet again) up north and when you live as we do, in the absolute south of Sweden it's quite a trip. Like a nine hour trip.. By car.. with no air condition.. In the absolute hottest day of the entire summer! What do you know!
And if that's not bad enough I had apparently had something REALLY bad to eat the day before.. You can imagine..
Sooo, the drive was long, boring, dead warm and smelly! We stopped for lunch on the way and everybody had their food except for Johan. It's amazing how everything with him always takes a long time, Every time he orders food he has to wait at least 30 minutes longer than everyone else!? Funny!
When we finally arrived to the city our hotel was in (Yes, it was in a different city) we realized that non of us remembered the name of the hotel and we had no one to call that knew, so we figured, since it was such a small town that we would check the first hotel we found. We did and it was it!!!
We had a lot of time to kill so we went for a little sightseeing and to a local pub to have dinner.

Arriving to the festival! As we drove in to town we saw this house, covered with birds. It looked like a scene straight from a Hitchcock movie. I got a little bit freaked out I must admit!

It was a small festival with a carnival. The show went really good, there weren't that much peoples but we kicked some major ass!!! I was all bloody after the show, both my knees were wounded from all the crawling around and that kind of stuff..
After the show we went out to signs some autographs and take pictures and talk to the fans for a while but then the driver got bored or something I guess so we had to leave for the hotel! On the ride back we stated fighting like crazy.. we were pretty drunk and there had been a lot of tensions in the air lately. I'm not sure what we were fighting about but we were all screaming at each other. The driver looked all shocked the entire way! Being in a band is a lot like a relationship.. I love them to death but when you hang with someone as much as we do you're bound to get on each others nerves from time to time. It's like I have three boyfriends!!!! The next day we were all friends again.
We had breakfast and then we had to drive Alex to train station since he was going to Stockholm to fill in for the drummer in Melody Club for a couple of shows.
On the way back Dominique picked up THE BIBLE!!??? He unknowingly stole it from the hotel… He thought it was a gift of some sort and that you were allowed to take it! Anyway, I think he read the hole thing and some parts he read out loud and I gotta say, there's some fucked up things in that book. There has to have been some kind of mistake in the translation or something.
I read "The Dirt"! It's by far the best book I've ever read! It's a must!!
See ya soon!
LOTS OF KISSES!!

Hi guys!
Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, with all the bad luck we've had and the resent storm at Arvikafestivalen and that kind of stuff..
Well well, we just came home from a festival in northern Sweden called Trastocksfestivalen (In English Woodstock festival) A really unique name btw.
Since it's so far away we had to fly there. Fine by us, it shortens the journey by like 14 hours so we didn't complain, until we found out that we had to get up at 4 in the morning…
So we did, after a good 2 hours sleep, and we met up in our studio at five to pack our things and grab a cab to the airport.
We checked in and got breakfast on the plane that actually wasn't that bad for once. All went well until we came to Stockholm where we had to change plane. All four of us were at the gate so we went on the plane and as it were just about to start Johan made the spectacular observation that Dominique wasn't on it. What the hell, he was right behind us, what have he done now? We all thought that he had seen a hot stewardess or something. Johan ran up to the crew and tried to explain the missing person incident but they were really rude and said that they hadn't been informed.. HOLY SHIT, What do we do!?
So at the very last second as the plane was about to take of, Dominique came running in, Thank good! Apparently he wasn't booked on the plane, he had a ticket and everything but he or he's seat didn't exist??? It's actually not the first time this happened to him.
Anyway, the people at the gate didn't know what to do and he explained that we had a gig so they let him on the plane, nice!
We got another breakfast at that plane and I slept almost the hole trip!
We landed in Umea and someone came to pick us up and drive us the rest of the way, one and a half hour I think, again I slept the entire way!
We arrived at the hotel at 12 at noon, everyone was still dead tired but we couldn't check in until two.. That sucked big time. We strolled around the town for a while I had ice cream and Alex a burger, then we went back to the hotel but the rooms still wasn't ready.. It felt like a week… We heard this really crappy cover of "Jolene" that we talked/ dissed for quite a long time. It was a new up beat techno/dance cover, why the hell would someone do that??
Finally the rooms were ready. Me and Dominique shared rooms cause we both wanted to head straight for the Jacuzzi. Unfortunately it wasn't open yet so we decided to take a nap and try again around five since we were going to be picked up at seven thirty. We woke up again AT SEVEN, Damn!! I jumped in to the shower, threw some clothes in a bag and ran down. It's amazing how we always manage to be in the very last minute, every time, no matter how much spare time we've got!
We arrived at the festival really hungry so we went straight to dinner! There was some veg stew for me since I'm a vegetarian and water to drink… no beer? We had some with us and since we've seen others drink beer we figured that we could too!! Big mistake! First this really big security guard came up to us and told us that we couldn't have cans at the entire area but if we poured it in cups that would be ok. Fair enough, so we did. But then this girl, who looked like a nice person, asked if we were Alice in videoland and said that she heard that we were drinking beers in cups!! News travels fast in this festival I guess. She told us with a really rude and bitchy voice to pour it out right away. We tried to explain what we had been told but she wouldn't listen. That bitch! So of course we refused!
We got access to our backstage area an hour sooner then what was scheduled, I guess they thought of us as a safety hazard of some sort , with the one glass of beer we've had and all.. We went there, and figured we'd hang out there until the gig started. But it wasn't exactly the usual chill out lounge it normally is. It was this huge locker room, still smelling like sweaty athletes, with four canes of soda and some cheese doodles. Yeah! One would get depressed being there for more than five minutes so we went back out and found an inn in the middle of the the festival area were they served drinks and food, so we hanged there for a while! We went back to the depressing looker room about an hour before show time 21.45 to dress up and get our gear up on stage! Peoples were already waiting in front of the stage, and we did a short line check.
22.45 Show time! It went pretty good I think, it felt good anyway and the crowd were crazy. That's always a good sign! We got of the stage and the peoples screamed for more so we went back up to do our encore! Firs song "going down" went like a charm but when the last song "cut the crap" (which is a pretty fast and upbeat song) started we noticed that our backtracks were going too slow I mean REALLY slow, so we had to cut short and interrupt right away! A little embarrassing but we're pretty used to it by now! Screwing up that is.
After the show I went to catch a couple of songs by "Cult of luna" a Swedish band I highly recommend you check out if you haven't heard them. Unfortunaly they started too late so I only heard the first song. Our ride back was leaving so I had to go!
There was suppose to be an after party at a club right by the hotel so we went to check it out.. Man, it was lame! We had one beer then we went back to sleep! The next day we had to go by bus to the airport in Umea, at seven it the morning!! I don't function well in mornings so that wasn't fun! When we checked in at the airport we had the same problem again or Dominique had anyway.. He wasn't on the flight. Hilarious! Somehow he managed to talk his way onboard once again, five minutes before takeoff.
No food at the flight this time and I was too tired to sleep so I watched a semi crappy movie on my ipod, "Never back down" I think, A little like a modern Karate kid but not half as good. I like karate kid!
When we came back home I slept the entire day!
See ya soon
