Current mood: calm
Hello all. David here. I'm watching a big foot hunt on history channel. I really wish somebody would find one of those. I figured I'd update you guys a little while the dorks look for big foot.
Early this afternoon we did a radio interview at wqfs (90.9) at Guilford College. Pretty interesting. We're slowly trying to build back the buzz. Getting it in gear. Mostly we plugged our upcoming shows. We also talked a little bit about our recordings and played some new music. We've been practicing a lot and working out some new songs to play. We'll be bringing back our "space song" which patrick included in our youtube "House of Fools - alive on tour". It's a fun song to play.
You guys know me....and how I rant.... so i'ts very hard for me to keep this an update and not bitch about kanye west. As I surf the television I get more aggrivated. That said, I leave it there. :)
Medusa Stone will be playing with us on Friday at Blind Tiger. We've also got Raleigh and Charlotte coming up with the Holy Ghost Tent Revival. Also opening up for Mae at Greene Street, and playing the Tate Street Music Festival. Be sure to check our dates. Lots of good things coming up.
Hope to see you all soon and in good spirits.
David

Current mood:humbled
It's been a very quiet evening at my home in Jamestown, North Carolina. After some recording with the guys, I've just simply been enjoying it. Despite the July heat, tonight is surprisingly cool. I hear coyotes and fear for my neighbor's sweet cat Clarabell. Working in music can become exhausting. Yet it's all that you know. Once in awhile something (or someone) will come along and refresh your soul and remind you how much it's all worth it. And you fall in love with music all over again. I'm there, full circle, on a lot of levels as of lately. The music and voice of late Jeff Buckley has done that for me so many times. I watched a life changing documentary on him tonight. Why that water took him is a mystery to me. To make the impact on somebody that two notes from his voice make on me would be a lifetime accomplishment. My journey has taken me long and far. I feel old and weathered but I am in reality still quite young. Our lineup, success, egos, talent, work ethic, opportunities, vices, ages, and goals have all changed. But not our spirits. Eric Clapton once said that the thing he loves the most about music is coming into contact with players who share his appreciation for music. One's that long to improve, study, and succeed. One's that realize it's a full time job just for yourself alone. To move on, To work and inspire yourself. I realized I have had that for the past few years of my life. And am extremely thankful that I've encountered two more in Jack, and Jordan. Tonight I count my blessings. And for once enjoy my sometimes too quiet home.
David

There's a lot to being a musician these days. This weekend was fantastic. Jordan, I can't thank you enough brother.
We converted the usual circus into acoustic shows which was interesting. Luna Lounge was decent for our first time there. Met some people I didn't know and now i have some new friends. It's fun for us to play some things we normally don't. Lots of b sides and rare ones. Josh tells jokes now. It's pretty funny. The highlight of the night had to be the cab ride to Carolina Diner. The cabby got pulled...not our fault I swear.
The Lucky Pub was Sat. Thank you to Jordan and Ron for putting us on. It was just me, Josh, and Yoelga. J.T. came with. A LOT of music was played. 4 hours worth. Everything from the Jack Devil's Band, to Tenacious D, to HIBBY DIBBYY. I think I sang Black Crowes at some Point. We tried "interested" acoustic. Bad choice.
"I Do NOT NEED a MICROPHONE. MY VOICE IS FUCKIN POWERFULLLLLLLOOOOOUULLLL"
