With so many different beliefs in our society about ghosts, it can be hard to decide what's correct. But for those who believe that the Holy Bible contains the ULTIMATE COLLECTION OF ANCIENT SCROLLS clarity can be found in scripture. In the Holy Bible - Matthew 14:26 when Jesus is walking on the water the disciples are afraid because they think that he is a "ghost". The belief in ghosts dates back several thousand years. People living at the time of Christ believed in them just as some people living today believe in them. In Luke 24:39 Jesus said "Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don't have bodies, as you see that I do!" So Jesus Himself did acknowledge the existence of ghosts. However Jesus never taught that ghosts were the spirits of our departed loved ones returning to visit. To the contrary he taught that when we die we are either with God in heaven, or will be waiting final judgment (hell). All humans have spirits, and these spirits are sometimes called "ghosts" in the Bible. In Gen. 25:8 (KJV) Abraham "gave up the ghost", in the original Hebrew the words in this verse are translated "gave up the ghost" mean "to breathe out" to "be dead" and "perish". Some believe in reincarnation. That they are destined to repeat their lives over and over until they "get it right". But the Bible says that we are NOT reincarnated but that we live once and die once, and after this we face the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Spirit mediums & Psychics communicate with spirits during séances and try to talk to ghosts as if they are people who have died. There is no question that some of these people are frauds, but most are very nice and good people who mean well and have the best intentions in the world to help people who want to hear from departed loved ones. Nevertheless I STRONGLY urge one to use extreme caution because evil spirits have been practicing identity theft for thousands of years. These same evil spirits that are present today were here when your Great Aunt Tessy was a little girl. These same evil spirits will easily know "all about her" or the "things that only she would know". Beware because if one invites an evil spirit to show his presence, it will gladly do so. But take care for it may not always be in the physical realm where you can see it and an even more disturbing thought, once they manifest they may not want to leave. Evil spirits or demons prefer occupying living hosts as opposed to empty dwellings. So as one goes Ghost hunting they must be concerned not to take home an unexpected souvenir. When Jesus had His notorious confrontation with the Gadarenes Demoniac called "Leigion" in the Gospels of Mark & Luke the evil spirits (demons) in the man pleaded and begged Jesus not to send them to the "deep" or "abyss" (Hell) before the appointed time, but to allow them to enter the pigs. The reasons for Jesus allowing this can be heavily debated, however the fact is that evil spirits would rather inhabit living creatures. Suffice it to say that if they would be content to dwell in a pig, they would surely be more pleased to enter into a human being. There is only ONE power in existence that has authority over these satanic ancient evils, Jesus Christ the Lord! If you are ever faced with spiritual evil IMMEDIATELY call out to Jesus to save you and believe it in your heart and He will!!
