PINEDA DE MAR

Pineda de Mar is located in the middle of the "Costa del Maresme", in between the coastal mountain range and the sea. Distant some 55 km from Barcelona city  and some 45 km from Girona.

Pineda de Mar is a town completely embracing the sea. We enjoy a wide and long sandy beach of outstanding quality, approximately 3.000 metres long and with an average width of around 40 metres.

The care the City Council takes on the beach maintenance all year round is greatly intensified during the summer season.

A total of 65 showers are located along the beach. Several bicycle parkings can also be found, basically with the aim to promote cycling in the town and most especially in the beach area.

The quality of the sand and the water, as well as the services we provide, have made it possible for the beach of Pineda de Mar to have been awarded in recent years the Blue Flag quality certificate.

A wide range of accommodations is available -hotels, apartments and campings - together with bars, terraces and restaurants. The town has a dynamic and charming commercial centre, as well as a pleasant urban layout, with greeny squares (52), groves, water fountains, flowerbeds and lawns.

HOW TO GET THERE

Airports:
Barcelona – BCN
Girona – Costa Brava – GER

By car:
Pineda de Mar is located half way in between Barcelona and Girona, approximately 50 km from each capital, which makes the town easily accessible from Barcelona and/or Girona-Costa Brava airports.

Pineda de Mar is reachable either by the N-II National Road or by the C-32 Motorway (exit 122). The road and motorway network alongside Pineda de Mar make it possible to reach in less than one-hour drive, important cities such as Barcelona, Girona, Mataró, Terrassa or Sabadell, as well as the French border, are around hundred kilometres away.

By train:
Pineda de Mar has a railway station (RENFE's C1 Line) with trains departing every 20 minutes destination Barcelona (with access to the city and connections to the airport). Timetables are available at
www.renfe.es

ONCE IN PINEDA DE MAR

If you don't want to walk
You can always use the little train called XINO XANO, which trough the town and has stops at most hotels doors. It costs € 1,20 each trip and is an easy way to get to know the town. It has one stop near the Beach Bar. It's nothing more than a tractor disguised as a railway locomotive pulling two or more wagons. It runs an itinerary along the town's touristic areas.

Taxi
Pineda de Mar also provides an efficient taxi service. There are two taxi ranks easily traceable. The first is located in Plaça de l'Estació (Station Square) by the railway station, and the second in the Avinguda de la Hispanitat in Poblenou neighbourhood (meaning Newtown and adjacent to Calella). They can also be reached by telephone calling 93-7672193 or 93-7660062.
