Anthony john is born on the 5th of july 1969 in  St  ann jamaica under the name of Clarence Anthony Mitchell.
Destined to pour more love and cultural blessings back into roots reggae music Anthony John’s motivating lyrics attempt to eradicate the un-progressive gun chat and badman-ship, associated with reggae music. Inspired by the world of wisdom and HAILE SELASSIE! Anthony John‘s upfront and humble lyrics penetrate the soul.
Among the slew of jamaican artist, Anthony John already denotes from his young age. He was already name by is elders “ Golden Voice”.
He started his carrer in Kingston on Sound System with his musical friend Buju Banton unknow at this time.
Its in 1990 with  “In the spot light” under the label “I and I Sound” that Anthony John mark the real start of his carrer.
In 1996, his first album was released,  “Do Good” under the label “Bold Gold” out in Usa. “Burning Fire Of Love” had been chosen for a sound track in the movie “Hunter Fire Man”. All those achievements did leads to many Radio and TV interview in Jamaica, and the USA.
 Anthony John chain  of recording is with some of the biggest  label  in jamaica like Penthouse ,Diamond Rush,Exterminator , Gargamel, Vp and a lot more .
Its in 2001 that Anthony John got two more  release  “Woman gone left you” and “Warning” on the famous label Penthouse records ,which  gave him an international reputation.
In 2003, “Don t cry no more” on the version “Shush shush Charlotte” under the  label Universal (France )for the “Dj Version of Serge Gainsbourg album “ Mauvaises Nouvelles des Etoiles”
This song gave him the opportunity to be know by a large french public.

He works with “Jah warrior” and record “creation”, “Dance and Singing” featuring Lutan Fyah for Stargate label and the title “Strive” under the label “Scoop.
In 2006 ,his second album release  “Won’t loose track” .  
The album contains 14 tracks worn by perfect melody. This album is distributed mainly in Europe and USA, Japan. .  
 Anthony John always carry the message of love and unity  with backing band , on Sound system and more recently in acoustics,as you  will discover in the next album “Creation” with the song “Pannic”
After a come back in jamaica for a year in 2006 , he decided to take back the road in 2007 to establish himself in France.
From his arrival in France Anthony John appear as a real revelation ,he did more than thirty shows from September 2007  in France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Poland...
He is on his path and has  worked with European and French labels like Rial Agony (Poland), Reggae Remedy (France), Big Belly Productions (Germany), King Sound (France), Wagram (France) for the latest released many more are coming .  
    Anthony John has created his own label as “Flyroots Productions”the first release will be  his third album “Creation” and a compilation “Flyroots Productions Vol 1” with Jamaicans artist  like Luciano , Lutan Fyah, Turbulence and a lot more. It will be digital sales in early 2009 followed by the release of the disc.

Anthony John, pour l’état civil Anthony Clarence Mitchell, est né le 05 juillet  1969 à Saint Ann en Jamaïque.Il ne délaisse pas le reggae revendicatif mais évite de sombrer systématiquement dans les clichés qui contribuent à enfermer le reggae dans un ghetto.
Inspiré par le monde de la sagesse et HAILE SELASSIE! Anthony John  repend son humbles paroles qui pénétre l’âme.Parmi la flopée d’artistes jamaïcains Anthony John dénote déjà dés son plus jeune âge.
Il était déjà surnomé par les anciens “Golden Voice”.
Il a commencé sa carrière à Kingston, en passant par  l’école des Sound-Systems accompagné de Buju Banton encore inconnu à l’époque.
Son en 1990 avec “In the spotlight” sous le label “I et I Sound” que Anthony John marque le début de sa carrière.
En 1996, il sort son premier album « Do good » sous le label « Bold Gold » sorti aux USA. “Burning Fire Of Love” a été choisi pour une bande sonore dans le film “Man Hunter Fire”. Toutes ces réalisations l’on conduit à de nombreuses radio et télévision, interview en Jamaïque et aux États-Unis.
Anthony John enchaîne les enregistrements avec certains des plus gros label en jamaïque comme Penthouse, Diamond Rush, Exterminator, Gargamel, VP, et beaucoup d’autre.
 En Jamaïque, en 2001, les deux titres « Woman gone left you » et « Warning »sorte  sur le célèbre label penthouse records, se qui il lui donnera une renom à l’international.
                En 2003, « Don’t cry no more” dans la version “shush shush Charlotte” avec le label Universal pour la “Version Dj” de l’album de  Serge Gainsbourg « Aux nouvelles des Etoiles »
Ce titre lui a donné l’opportunité de se faire connaître par un large public en France
Anthony John fraîchement arrivé de Londres 2003.
Il travaille avec “Jah Warrior” et enregistre le titre “création”, “Danse and sing” avec Lutan Fyah sur le Stargate label et le titre de “Strive” sous le label “Scoop”.
En 2006, sort son deuxième album « Won’t loose track » en auto production. . L’album contient 14 morceaux portés par des mélodies parfaite. Il sera distribué principalement en Europe ,aux Etats-Unis et au Japon.
Sa voix chaude le place en digne héritier, le publique est ainsi convaincu.
Après un retour en Jamaïque pour un an en 2006, il a décidé de reprendre la route en juin 2007 pour s’établir en France.
Des lyrics percutants prônant un message de paix et de justice font de cet artiste une personnalité inspirée et engagée. Depuis son arrivée en France, Anthony John apparait comme une véritable révélation, il a fait plus d’une trentaine de spectacles à partir de Septembre 2007 en France, Suisse, Autriche, Belgique, Pologne ...

Il s’entoure et collabore avec les labels européen et français , Rial Agony (Pologne), Reggae Remedy (France), Big Belly Productions (Allemagne), King Sound (France), Wagram (France) pour les derniere sorti ,beaucoup d’ autres sont à venir.
Anthony John vient de créer son propre label de “Flyroots Productions” le premier projet sera son troisième album, “Création” et une compilation “Flyroots Productions Vol 1” avec des artistes Jamaïcains comme Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Turbulence et beaucoup d’autres. Il sera en vente numériques au début de 2009 suivi de la sortie en disque.
Anthony John est un artiste confirmé dont la place légitime est sur scène.
