I keep starting a blog about the June 2nd WizrockFest and abandoning it a few minutes later.  So, for now, just know that it was awesome and a monster-sized blog with a ton of pictures is on the way...when we can do it justice.

Oh, we just released our first CD and it is available to order. It's only $7 shipped anywhere in the world and we think it is very lovely.  It's 10 songs in about 20 minutes, kind of like a monster-sized EP. You can check out the cover art in the picture secion of our profile (though the real CD is printed on green), here's the Tracklisting:
1. Waiting For You
2. Goblet of Rock
3. Wolfsbane
4. Mudbloods & Murmurs
5. Sadzkaban
6. This Song is a Horcrux
7. Dementor's Kiss at Midnight
9. Magical Me
10. Wizard Rock Cake

Also, we're collaborating on a song for the new Cruciatus Curse CD, which includes duets from a handful of other Wrockers, including Voldemort, Marked as His Equal, and Snidget.

Oh, and we're still hoping to release the summer compilation in early July; we'll have some artwork up very, very soon.  And we've decided on a title, One More Peaceful Day, using the line from the end of Half-blood Prince. So far we've received a handful of songs and expect to receive a handful more; we'll post more concrete details in a few weeks.

So, overall we've been pretty busy, but there's a lot of Wizard Rock goodness on the horizon. Thanks, everybody!

Summer is getting closer than ever now!  And with summer comes many things:

On June 2nd, if you live anywhere near the western hemisphere, you absolutely must be at the monster-wizard-rock fest (we need a name for this fest).  There will be so many bands it will blow your mind; The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, Sue & The Hufflepuffs, The Hermione Crookshanks Experience, The Hinky Punks, Dumbledore's Army, A Couple of Harry's and a ton of others.  And us, too, of course! We'll be actually have more than 1 instrument too! Expect guitars, drums, keyboard, and singing galore!  Also, the location changed, you can find the new address if you click on the show info.

And, by the time the show comes around, we anticipate actually releasing our first real CD (We had a demo, but we only made 3 copies of that). Expect newly recorded versions of all the songs you've heard on our Myspace, plus a ton more! We plan on recording the CD in just a few short weeks, so expect some revamped and all new tunes to hit the Myspace in late May!

Then in July, we plan on releasing another Wizard Rock compilation, currently untitled (we can't think of a title for the CD--any ideas?).  So far we've already received several songs from various wizard rock bands and the CD should rock tremendously!!  I feel kind of guilty holding on to these songs for a few months without anyone else being able to hear them. Oh, ALL PROCEEDS will go to charity, so not only are you going to get a ton of awesome new songs, but you're also helping out a worthy cause!

If anyone is interested in having The Bandon Banshees play a show, let us know! If you're anywhere between Sacramento and Los Angeles, we're travelling that way and would be glad to play a show anywhere between the two on June 1st or June 3rd. And if you're anywhere in Northern California, we'd be glad to play a show anytime during the summer.  We basically live between Sacramento and Reno (NV), if you're willing to help us out with gas, we'd be glad to go further to play a show, though.  And we'll play just about anywhere; your backyard, garages, libraries, wherever.

We're also looking to play a book release party, if anyone is still looking for a band, preferrably in Northern California, though we might be able to go elsewhere--just let us know!

Then on July 31st there's a monster Harry Potter party in Northern California (Chico). I'm told that if you are interested, you are more than welcome to attend! There will be a costume contest, trivia, prizes, a giant feast, and we'll be playing a show!! So, if you're anywhere near, shoot us a message and we'd be glad to put you in touch with the party organizer so you can get an invitation.

And we're pushing close to 700 friends--thanks to all of you that have added us; it's really awesome that so many people listen! It's going to be a very exciting summer--we hope we can bring some wizard rock your way!

Alright! We're finally planning on doing some shows this summer! The first weekend of June we're going to travel down to Southern California for a few days.  First, we're going to perform in the monstrously-super-awesomely-awesome-spectacular Wizard Rockfest on June 2nd. I don't know if we should tell you everyone that's showing up, but it's going to be pure madness; tons of bands will be there (The Whomping Willows, Sue & the Hufflepuffs, The Remus Lupins, The Hinky Punks, The Parselmouths, A Couple of Harry's and about a million others!). If you're within 7,000 miles of Santa Ana, California, you've gotta show up!

Also, We're hoping to play another show on Sunday (June 3rd), this show is in the planning stages and may include somewhere between 2 and 4,000 other wizard rock bands. If you know of somewhere awesome we  could play, let us know!

And we're also trying to plan a big concert in the bay area this summer as well! Yay!

So if you're in or around California, you'll get a chance to see us and a lot of other Wizard rockers this summer! In fact, if you want us to play a show on the way to Southern California (We're in Northern California), let us know! We'd love to!

First and foremost: thank you to everyone that has bought a CD or sent words of encouragement-it's great to see this Christmas CD finally happen. Extra super duper special thanks to the Hermione Crookshanks Experience-she posted a bulletin and a few hours later we had several SoCal CD buyers. And to WZRD; the holiday podcast was wonderful and full of propaganda (the good kind!)

We sold out of our initial shipment of CDs and ordered a bunch more rush delivered, so if you want to get your CD by christmas, order it by THIS THURSDAY

The post office says it takes 2 days to ship in the U.S., but with the holidays and all, I'm sure that really means a week or so, so Thursday is the last day for (almost) guaranteed christmas delivery, though if you order after Thurdsday I'm sure you'll most likely get it before christmas.

If you've ordered a CD, we're shipping them tomorrow! Expect them sometime next week (hopefully earlier than later)

Oh, and we've updated our website (www.freewebs.com/bandonbanshees), if you're into that kind of thing.

So thanks again and happy holidays!

Hey everyone, just thought we'd give you a little update, since it's been awhile.

Coming in November, we're putting out a Wizard Rock Christmas compilation, which will feature a ton of awesome wizard rock bands all contributing a song. We plan on taking the proceeds and using them to help with an awesome wizrock festival next summer. We'll add some more details as the release gets closer.

And before the end of the year we plan on actually releasing our CD. We've got most of the songs written (somewhere around 15 or so) and just need to get them recorded (or in some cases rerecorded). We're planning on including new versions of Magical Me, Waiting For You, Wizard Rock Cake and a ton of others. The CD is tentatively titled "Wizard Rock Cake"

And thanks everybody for all the recent adds and comments-we truly appreciate all the feedback we've got so far.

Oh, and if for some reason you live in Northern California, we're looking to do some shows. So if you have a band and need an opening act or just feel like doing something awesome on a Friday night, shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do!

That's all for now! Thanks everyone!

If you haven't, and they're playing in your area, you owe it to yourselves to go check out Harry and the Potters and Draco and the Malfoys on tour. We went to their Sunday and Monday night shows (Roonil Wazlib performed Monday night-you should pick up the new CD) and had an absolute blast.

These really are some awesome bands worth seeing...plus most (if not all) of the shows are free.  The schedule is up on H&tP and D&tM's myspace pages (they're both in our top 8) so if you can, you should definitely go for a great time! They're touring until the 17th of August.

We'll post some pictures (and maybe videos) soon. Oh, and we were inspired to write and records some new songs, so expect some new music very soon.

Hello everybody in Myspaceland, thanks for checking out out nifty
blogeroo.

It's great that so many people have requested to be our friend. We love to play, write and perform our songs and show them to others. Like many other Wizard rockers, we have no intention of making any money, fame, publicity, etc... We just want to rock your socks off and encourage others to do the same; seriously, it's as simple as buying a cheap guitar or keyboard and a $10 microphone. Then come up with a cool name, like Wolfsbane or The-Band-that-must-not-be-named and rock!!

We also would like to encourage everyone that not all books suck. Harry Potter is really one of the greatest book series out there, but there is some good reading out there if you look for it. And look what some books can inspire; crazy music madness!

Alright, until next time, peace.
~Josh
