Arizona Band announces "Escape the Heat - Summer Tour"

PHOENIX, ARIZONA – Shawn Johnson & the Foundation, recently named "Best Local Band" by AZcentral.com Reader's Choice Awards, announces "Escape the Heat – Summer Tour".  With a full-length studio album slated for release in September, Shawn Johnson & The Foundation prepares to hit the road to perform material from their back catalog of 3 albums, and material from their upcoming release, simply titled "IV".

Composed of a diverse range of  musical influences, Shawn Johnson & The Foundation consistently recruit fans from many varied music styles and backgrounds. Combining Rock, Folk, Funk, Blues and Jazz into a melting pot of high energy jam-pop, their live performance is sure to impress any fan of live music.

So I'm recording my first Solo cd and my first studio cd in 5 years.

I'm very excited.

I start recording Thur April 26th.

I will be recording it and CB sound with Kurt Bennington.

It's going to be about 12 to 15 tracks.

I'm planning on about 8 tracks being straight acoustic and vocal with maybe a lead or two on them.

Then about 3 tracks are going to have beats built around them.

Then maybe 1 or 2 tracks will have bass and drums.

The songlist is far from set in stone as anyone who knows me understands I like to change things in the studio.

So far these are the songs that I'm contemplating.

We Are, Spin, Peace Tree,Crazy Eyes,Water & Wine,Cautious,Breathe,Sun Says Hello,Recess,Ryhme till I'm free,Wrecking Ball,Pure & Simple,Coming Apart

A few more that I can't remember off the top of my head are in the mix.

I'm very excited so expect the release sometime mid Summer.

Ooo maybe a cd release birthday party for me.

What a great road trip!

Lets see, Long drive, Short set, drinking, pizza, drinking, Borat,sleep

Breakfast, NCAA tourny, New tune, sleep, Dinner, Med set, heavy drinking, almost a broken neck, heavier drinking, wrestling, wripped pants, trail mix toss.

Nap, breakfast, Skiing, puking up breakfast, skiing, dinner, long Awesome set with very different dynamics, weird stranger hour, drinking, sleep.

Awesome breakfast (Ya TAOS), short drive, Oatmeal stout and the first good bloody mary of the trip, NCAA Tourny, chill time, dinner, chill time, long set heavy drinking, Happy St Patty's day, Big Italian sub, a few minor lacerations, gibberish, sleep
