We're working on the details for Island Bay Day 2010.  The date for it will be Saturday October 9th 2010 and it will be held at the same location as last yera - The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) in Grasonville.

Island Bay Day has become more of a music festival than anything else, so we will be working on ways to beef up the music side and making that the primary focus for 2010.

Vendors for this year should be only music related and rock 'n roll related sellers.  Kids stuff will be art related, as the face painter was a huge hit last year.

We will begin the task of booking bands soon and this year we are hoping to secure a national act as a headliner.  Last year we had 14 bands playing non-stop on side by side stages. This year the set-up will be the same, but we are looking at having 10 bands instead of 14 so that the sets can be longer.  This also depends on the headliner.

We will need sponsors to step up again this year and we have a few underwrighters on board already.  Any sponsor that comes on board before March 2010 will get fantastic exposure on Kent Island Online, The Annapolis Site, and all Island Bay Day web and ad related output.  They will also be included on our radio advertisements that will air on at least two local radio stations this year.  This deal is only for sponsors who pledge at least $1500 before March 1, 2010.  We are limiting this because I can only realistically fit a few sponsors with their information on the radio ads.  Radio ads for Island Bay Day 2010 will begin airing September 1, 2010 and will flood the airwaves!  Sponsor Island Bay Day 2010 and tie yourself to the areas premier charity event!  For $1500 you will receive well over $4000 worth of advertising that will completely saturate the area in web, print, cable TV, and radio.

We're looking forward to seeing everybody again at Island Bay Day 2010!  Help us spread the word and keep chcking back for more information!

Island Bay Day 2009 will be at CBEC this year.  CBEC - The Checsapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville is a huge 500+ acre area on the water with a pavillion, a large hall, tons of walking trails, kayaking, nature stuff for kids, etc.

I think that they will be a wonderful charity - here is their mission:

The mission of the Wildfowl Trust of North America, Inc. is to be responsible and proactive environmentally.

We strive to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay.

Specifically, we promote environmental stewardship at our 510-acre site, the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC), through education, restoration and conservation.

Check out their website for more:

We will have tons of parking, no noise problems, a large indoor area for any vendors, and a great waterfront pavillion with 2 stages!   We have free valet parking as well to assist with fitting as many cars as possible.

We have a beer truck and Woodhall Winery will be selling and doing wine tastings.   "It's The Pits" and "The American Grill" and a few others will be serving crab cakes, pit beef/ham/turkey, hot dogs & burgers, funnel cakes, ice cream, ribs, frys, soft drinks, shakes, and more.

The Jetty is hosting the Island Bay Day "After Party" with more live music and special deals for Island Bay Day patrons.

Yeah, it's a rediculous late start this year, but this will be one helluva party and it's for an amazingly great cause!
