U2
Celebrate “Horizon” On BBC Tower, Preps Tour
It’s release
week for U2 and they got an early start at the BBC last Friday. The
group ended their day of promotion by playing a four-song set on the roof of
the BBC’s London tower. Competition winners got to join the band for
their set, which included “Get On Your Boots,” “Magnificent,” “Vertigo,” and
“Beautiful Day.” In related news, U2 are planning their tour, which will
likely include 360-degree seating around the stage. Bono tells Rolling
Stone, “It’s an engineering feat that creates this real physical proximity
to the crowd. We’re going outdoors to try to meet that audience.”
The vocalist says they want to take advantage of every chance to tour given
that they don’t know how much longer they will continue. “Every single
night should be the best night of your life,” says the vocalist. “If not,
then we are just the worst of those ‘70s dinosaur bands that felt it was enough
to just turn up and play and that people were lucky to be in our presence.”

Oasis
Ahead Of Schedule
Liam
Gallagher says if and
when Oasis gets ready to do a new album, they will be more than
prepared. He told Portuguese television show Top + that he prefers
to record again sooner than later. “I reckon we’d get half of it done [if
the band started now],” says Gallagher. “Personally after the tour I
think we should have a couple of months off, not too long, maybe six
months. Then I think we should go back in the studio, make another album.”
The vocalist then added a jab at his brother, guitarist Noel Gallagher,
saying, “It’s not down to me. You know what I mean, because I’m not a
solo artist.”

FEATURED ACT rising rocker news
Bullitt On
Target
There’s a
brash rock sound emanating from Dallas these days, and Bullitt are
responsible. The upstart rockers are currently promoting their “Bullitt
EP,” which features the fan-favorite track “Everything.” The instantly
catchy song came together quickly via guitarist Scotti Skot and singer Shannon
Cobb. “The song is definitely a great representation of what our band
is about and the style that is Bullitt,” says Cobb. The vocalist says the
group initially started with the idea of doing a full-length album but the
early response warranted getting music to the fans as soon as possible, so the
EP was born quickly and is currently available at www.myspace.com/bullittdallas.
Add in tracks like the hard-hitting “Bleed” and “Working Man,” and this is a
group to look out for in the coming year.
