One of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time is coming to Big Apple Comic Con!

 
Over the course of his legendary 36 year career and 16 World Heavyweight Championships with the NWA, WCW and WWE; "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has become widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers to ever enter the ring.

 
Flair’s wrestling career began in the early 70’s, with stints in the AWA and later the NWA. As Flair worked his way up the card, he fought future wrestling legends Dusty Rhodes, André the Giant, Larry Hennig, Wahoo McDaniel, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Mr. Wrestling II, Jimmy Snuka, Greg Valentine and the original "Nature Boy", Buddy Rogers.

 
Flair dominated the NWA during the 80’s, winning his first World title in 1981. Even as a heel, Flair’s flamboyant style embodied the role of the World Champion to a generation of wrestling fans. Flair’s signature “Wooo!’ shout is regularly referenced in sports events even to this day, including Baseball, Basketball and Hockey games.

 
During his heyday in the NWA, Flair formed the legendary wrestling stable, The Four Horsemen with Arn & Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Throughout the rest of the decade, Flair had memorable feuds with Harley Race, Kerry Von Erich, Sting, Ronnie Garvin, Magnum T.A., Lex Luger, Barry Windham and Sting.

 
In the 90’s, Flair had his first stint in the WWE, winning the World title twice before returning to WCW, where he won an additional six World Championships. Flair ended his active wrestling career with a long stint back in the WWE, where he faced modern wrestling superstars Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley and Chris Jericho.

 

Since his retirement from wrestling, Flair has appeared as an actor in the video game, COMMAND & CONQUER: RED ALERT 3 – UPRISING.

The star of HBO’s hit comedy HUNG is coming to the Big Apple Comic Con!

 

Thomas Jane made his film debut in 1986 in an Indian movie called PADAMATI SANDHYA RAGAM. From there he went on to supporting roles in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, AT GROUND ZERO, HIGH TIDE, THE CROW: CITY OF ANGELS, FACE/OFF, BOOGIE NIGHTS, THE VELOCITY OF GARY and THE THIN RED LINE.

 
Following bigger roles in DEEP BLUE SEA, MAGNOLIA, JUNKED and JONNI NITRO, Jane segued into leading roles in 61*, EDEN, ORIGINAL SIN, THE SWEETEST THING and DREAMCATCHER.

 
Jane is best known for his starring turn as the lead character in the 2004 adaptation of Marvel Comics’ THE PUNISHER. In preparation for the role, Jane became a fan of the character and even provided his voice for THE PUNISHER video game. He also co-wrote and produced two comic book series, BAD PLANET and ALIEN PIG FARM.

 
In 2007, Jane directed his first film, DARK COUNTRY, which will be released later this year. Jane has also recently appeared in the films THE MIST, MUTANT CHRONICLES, GIVE ‘EM HELL, MALONE and KILLSHOT. He is currently starring in the hit HBO comedy series, HUNG. He is also slatted to appear in THE DEVIL’S COMMANDOS and EVILSEEK.

Just fill out the form, print it out and bring all copies to the convention with your books to save you time at the CGC booth.

Don't miss Adam Hughes at Big Apple Comic Con

 

Adam Hughes is most commonly known for his stylized renderings of women; super heroines, damsels in distress, figures in fantasy. About the time Adam began making waves in art circles and his artwork really began to be noticed, the term "Good Girl Art" had been coined, and it best describes exactly what Adam does. He is considered by many to be one of a new generation of Good Girl artists inspired by Petty, Vargas and Elvgren. When describing his own work, Adam has used the term "naturalistic" as opposed to the term "realistic”; which describes what he does perfectly.



Adam began working in comics at the age of 19, in 1985. In 1988 Adam lent his talents to a comic book called MAZE AGENCY; a book which many consider to be his first real artistic "run" on a title. He did over a year on the book; of both interior and cover artwork. In 1989 Adam began working on his first "mainstream" comic book title: DC Comic's JUSTICE LEAGUE. He worked on the book for almost 2 years, doing covers and interiors until 1990, then switching to supplying artwork for just the covers. Eight years later, Adam began what many see as his most acclaimed cover work. Adam's recognizably strong and elegantly drawn women have graced the covers of four years worth of DC Comics WONDER WOMAN title.



Prior to Wonder Woman, Adam had a short run on the Dark Horse series GHOST, which many feel a noteworthy point in his career. It was here that we see Adam relying heavily on art nouveau influences in his attempt to create a "Film Noir" genre in comics. This was also about the time that Adam first worked on GEN-13: Ordinary Heroes for Wildstorm; which gave him an opportunity to write and draw his own run on a book. Adam has since worked on a variety of projects, for major publishers and in dependants, including Top Cow's TOMB RAIDER, Mike Oeming's HAMMER OF THE GODS, Black Bull Entertainment's GATECRASHER, Mark Wheatley's FRANKENSTEIN MOBSTER, to name but a few.



Today Adam is best known as a cover artist. He pencils, inks and colors his own covers, using both traditional and digital mediums. His artwork can be seen on an amazing assortment of comic book covers as well as many places outside the comic book industry. Adam's most recent break from comic book work is still pertinent to the industry; the creation of a teaser poster for the much anticipated WONDER WOMAN MOVIE. Adam had worked previously with WW Movie director Joss Weydon on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer poster for the episode ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING.



Currently, Adam is the monthly cover artist to DC Comics title CATWOMAN. He tours, appearing at close to a dozen conventions a year.

Big Apple Comic Con is proud to announce the following iconic sports figures are excited to be part of the celebrity Guest list.  

Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history. The majority of his career was spent with the New York Yankees. Berra set MLB records in numerous categories, and appeared in fourteen World Series on his way to ten championships. In 1956, Berra and pitcher Don Larsen teamed up for the only no-hitter in World Series history. After his playing days, Berra had a long stint as the manager of the New York Mets, including the 1969 World Championship team; before returning to manage the Yankees. He has become one of the most beloved figures in sports and was named to Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1972.

 

Dwight Gooden was one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in the National League during the 1980s. His penchant for striking out opposing batters quickly earned him the nickname “Dr. K”, which was later shortened to “Doc.” For his extraordinary achievements, Gooden went on to become the youngest-ever recipient of the Cy Young Award. Gooden and the New York Mets won the World Championship in 1986, defeating the Boston Red Sox. Following his tenure with the Mets, Goodwin went on to sign with their cross-town rivals, The New York Yankees in 1996. Goodwin later retired after his second stint with the Yankees.

 

Pete Rose is best known for his 19 years with the Cincinnati Reds. Rose is the all-time Major League leader in hits, games played, at-bats and outs. He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of the Year Award, and made 17 All-Star appearances at five different positions; a feat no other player has matched. Outside of Baseball, Rose is well known by wrestling fans for his recurring onscreen feud with the WWE’s Kane at the annual WRESTLEMANIA event.

One of the most iconic wrestlers will be at Big Apple Comic Con. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has become widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers to ever enter the ring. New York City native and boxing legend Jake LaMotta, known as Raging Bull, rounds out the impressive list of sports icons scheduled to meet fans at Big Apple Comic Con. LaMotta, who compiled a record of 83 wins, 19 losses and four draws with 30 wins by way of knockout, was the first man to beat Sugar Ray Robinson, knocking him down in the first round. Robert De Niro later portrayed him in the film Raging Bill, based on LaMotta's memoir.

The two Boba Fetts are coming to Big Apple Comic-Con!

Big Apple Comic-Con is proud to announce that Jeremy Bulloch and Daniel Logan, the original and prequel trilogy actors behind the iconic character Boba Fett will be featured guests at this year’s show!

Jeremy Bulloch is an actor with over forty years of experience who has appeared in countless film and TV projects, including DOCTOR WHO, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, OCTOPUSSY and SPOOKS. However, his most beloved role is easily Boba Fett, the bounty hunter from STAR WARS EPISODE V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Thanks to Fett’s distinctive visual appearance and Bulloch’s enigmatic performance, the character quickly captured the imagination of fans everywhere.

Bulloch reprised his role in STAR WARS EPISODE VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI. Bulloch will also be appearing in the upcoming TV series N GUARD: DEFENDERS OF GAIA.

 

Daniel Logan received his first acting break when he was discovered while playing with his amateur rugby team in ....New Zealand..... This chance encounter led ..Logan.. to roles in TV commercials, a guest appearance on HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS and a recurring role in the ....New Zealand.... medical drama ..

....Logan.... is best known for his role as the young Boba Fett in STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES. As only the second actor to portray the popular Boba Fett, it is heavily rumored that ....Logan.... may reprise his role in the upcoming STAR WARS live-action TV series.

The woman behind Dejah Thoris and Silver Fox is coming to Big Apple Comic-Con!

Prior to her professional acting debut, Lynn Collins attended the ....Juilliard.. ..School.... for Drama, where she was classically trained as a Shakespearean actress. From there she went on to roles in DOWN WITH LOVE, 50 FIRST DATES, LAW & ORDER SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, HAUNTED, SPLITSVILLE and 13 GOING ON 30.

Collins’ dramatic acting background helped her land the role of Portia in the 2004 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s THE MERCHANT OF VENICE; which was highly acclaimed. Collins’ received critical raves for her performance opposite Al Pacino, Joseph Fiennes and Jeremy Irons.

Among comic fans, Collins is best known as Kayla Silverfox, Wolverine’s doomed lover the 2009 blockbuster, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. Additionally, Collins has appeared in THE NUMBER 23, NUMB, NOTHING IS PRIVATE, UNCERTAINTY, THE LAKE HOUSE, BUG and RETURN TO RAJAPUR.

More recently Collins has portrayed Dawn Green on the hit HBO vampire series, TRUE BLOOD. Collins has also signed on to play Dejah Thoris in the highly anticipated adaptation of JOHN CARTER OF MARS.

Adam West is a true American icon. From his humble beginning on a wheat ranch in ..Walla Walla.., ..Washington.., Adam skyrocketed to fame in ....Hollywood...., pursuing an extraordinary career in entertainment that has spanned half a century.

His role as Batman in the classic television series and feature of the same name continues to be seen throughout the world more than 40 years after its debut. While Batman, and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, remains his signature role, Adam has a multitude of motion picture, theater, and TV credits to his name.

He has made nearly 50 movies, including starring or co-starring roles in Drop Dead Gorgeous, The New Age, The Young Philadelphians, An American Vampire Story, Soldier in the Rain, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, and Nevada Smith.

Adam West has also lent his voice to animated characters in such well-known series as Family Guy, The Simpson, Rugrats, Batman, Animaniacs, Jonny Bravo, Spydogs, The Super Adventure Team, and many others. His voice-over work in animated film includes the roles of “Ace, Hollywood Chicken Little” in Disney’s Chicken Little, and “Uncle Art” in Disney’s Meet the Robinsons. In 2000, he also contributed the voice of “Leonard Fox” to the animated short, Redux Riding Hood, which went on to win an Academy Award nomination.

Adam West is the author of two books, Back to the Batcave and Climbing the Walls. He lends his support to numerous charities and won $250,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, on behalf of an organization supporting underprivileged women and children in ....Idaho.....
