Current mood: blessed
I am still recovering. I have been walking, doing yard work and following Trevor around at remote control car races. Miss racing and my friends.

Byron is doing better. Slow everyday. He hopes to be able to drive soon. Just wanted to let everyone know that there is an article about him in Dirt On Dirt. It is a nice article, sad to read, but a nice article.

Byron had a good holiday, but caught a stomach virus and has not been feeling well these last few days. He is still suffering from dizziness and nausea from the head concussion. The doctor tells us that this will take time.

Byron had tests on Monday, and we spoke to the doctor on Wednesday. There is no neck, muscle or ligament damage. The doctor said it will just take time to heal. He is getting better everday.

On Wednesday, Byron saw a neurologist in Florence, AL. This Doctor has orded an MRI and a flex x-ray of the neck. Byron has been having trouble swallowing and the doctor wants to make sure that there is no muscle or ligament damage. We then drove to Birmingham and saw the Trauma doctors. They informed me that his most serious injury was a brain injury. For those of you that have talked with Byron, he is slow to respond and loses his thoughts. They said that it could be 4 to 6 weeks before he would improve enough to be able to drive. He is not to do anything that requires a quick reaction time. They told him to do puzzles, play games, anything that requires him to think and then respond. Byron was upset with the news, he wants to be better yesterday. There is improvement everyday and it will just take time.

I know this is hard to believe, but Byron has been going to work and sitting during the day. He is determined to heal yesterday. He is in pain, still has balance issues and some memory issues. His pain is controlled now with Advil instead of the pain medicine prescribed by the doctor. Please continue to pray for him, especially that he does not do more damage by doing too much.

Byron is up and moving and determined to catch a mouse. He is moving better everyday and even remembered Bizkit's cell phone number by memory. This is so much better than before. He still has lapses in his memory and is still very unsteady when he walks, but he is so much better than when we came home. Please continue to pray as we have so much recovering to so. Also, would everyone who is checking this please send me your name and address so that we can send a note personally to each and everyone of you.

Byron is home and what a day to be thankful. He had a very bad night. He was having nightmares and at one time he called for me and asked that I hold him because he was afraid. He never would say what was frightening him, but just asked to not be left alone. He is in a lot of pain, but last night for the first time he was hungry and ate. Thank you Lacinda for dinner. He ate almost a whole piece of pie.
He is still confused and has lost days. His head and neck are hurting. This will just take time and prayers and thank you everyone for the prayers and all that you do.
