Hey all!

After some winter-time slumbers Whysp is re-emerging this spring with some modest stirrings. A couple new shows in May and some new recordings being worked over and gently pushed towards release...

Look out for a seven inch release this summer on the British label The Great Pop Supplement as well as a track on an upcoming Ptolemaic Terrascope compilation. These are a few tracks from a batch of songs we recorded with The Papercuts Jason Quever at his Pan American Recording Studio in San Francisco over the last several months so be on the lookout for these songs to make their way into the world in one form and the next. A couple are posted on our page now for your listening pleasure!

Be Well!

There is a brief mention of the Dawn is Crowned album in Byron Coley & Thurston Moore's "Bull Tongue" column in the new issue of Arthur:

"More easily comprehended as a concept is the split LP shared by Whysp and The Story, The Dawn is Crowned (Good Village).  Whysp's Santa Cruz sitar-dipped hippie-volk tradionalism is as great as ever.  These guys absolutely nail the smoke, if you know what we mean.  The Story are a UK duo led by the legendary Martin Welham (ex-Forest) and their coo is almost as drool-worthy as Whysp's."
