It's been a while since we updated everyone on the status of the Pasadena shop. I am proud to say that although it has taken about a month longer than we expected, Anomaly in Pasadena will reopen very shortly in our new Pasadena location.

We thank all of you that have continued to support us, those that have driven the additional 10 minutes out of their way to stop by our Echo Park shop in the meantime. It really means a lot to all of us here. In fact, as a celebration and thank you.... ALL STANDARD PIERCINGS WLL BE JUST $30 FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. THIS INCLUDES STANDARD STARTER JEWELRY. Tongue, Navel, Cartilage, Nostril, Nipple, etc. doesn't matter... barbells or rings, doesn't matter.... $30 including all service, jewelry and tax fees. But only for the month of November so don't hesitate and miss out.

Other non-standard piercings, like genital and microdermal piercings will receive $15 off the total cost during the month of November. YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS DEAL, and we likely won't have it again anytime soon.

Ladies and Gents!

Fans, Friends... Family. Thank you all so much for your support during the trying times we've had the past month and a half. I am proud to say that ANOMALY's phone number has been restored to us thanks in LARGE part to the wonderful work of our amazing lawyer. We never wanted to get legal counsel, we thought we could solve things with logic and compromise, but once the shop phone was illegally sold to our competitor we knew we had no choice. When faced with the impending lawsuit for the damages and loss in business that the competitor was causing, they chose instead to return our number to us. Everything is copacetic and the shop is functioning as good if not better than ever. In fact we now have a great selection of fancy navel jewelry again, gold, white gold and titanium with fun faceted and cabachon gems. Most impressive is the new push-pin nostril pieces that are fully stocked with a wide array of bezel and prong set gems as well as some really fun and fancy gold ends. And as always our stone and natural material jewelry for stretched ear lobes is off the hook. Look for us to increase the jewelry selection even more as time goes on.

We have some new faces at the shop. Many months ago Stephen left to work for Anatometal (one of the best body jewelry manufacturers in the world), and Tyler has been lending his amazing talents to the world of construction. In their absence Sque3z asked Brett Perkins to come in and fill some shifts. He was the first piercer hired by Anomaly (besides Sque3z) many years ago and has been involved in the shop since the beginning. He was also the main curator of most of the art shows. It's nice to have him back around Pasadena and filling in the spot as Senior Piercer with over 11 years of professional piercing experience. Brett also is the director of the performance group Ephemme Suspension Performance, one of the original founders of the Well Hung Suspension Team, and the current Head of Piercing for the Los Angeles Chapter of CoRE (wearecore.com).

Sque3z has moved on to trying his hands at being an EMT, and possibly piercing part time at a new shop on the other end of Los Angeles. We would tell you the name of it but last time we tried to send him business the shop's owner got irritated and claimed he didn't work for her... so until we hear otherwise we are obligated to keep the rumored information to ourselves.

We have acquired some very talented piercers with many different levels of experience and specialties. Tod comes to us having worked for years with the amazing Elayne Angel (former owner of Rings of Desire in New Orleans, and current author of The Piercing Bible). He has tons of experience and is super personable. We also have a couple Junior Piercers - Berto, Adam, and Monique. They are all super competent piercers and look forward to serving our clients.

The Hair Salon upstairs is running in full effect again with four amazing stylists. They not only do the most innovative cuts, they are all color specialists with an emphasis on developing custom formulas for each client. Our stylists do runway fashion shows, celebrity photo shoots, movie and theatrical events, and even weddings. This team is unbeatable. In fact we are even considering moving a couple doors down to a larger space to better accomodate our business.

Have we saved the shop... YES! Anomaly will always be a fixture of Pasadena and no one can take that away from us... which means no one can take it away from you. Despite some valiant efforts on the part of others to spread lies, try to steal business, and simply drive us out any way possible... we will be in the same general area for many years to come. We thank you all and encourage you to keep your eyes open for invitations to our victory party!!!!!

As of today the situation with the phone has not gotten better. The person responsible for sabotaging the shop and selling the number in the first place has fled the country to England "on vacation." The competition still has access to the phone number and we are currently without a landline. We appreciate your cash business instead of credit cards whenever possible as credit cards are harder to process now with the messed up phone happenings.

We also appreciate the huge outcry of support and wonderful words of encouragement from all of our friends. Today we got new jewelry in stock that has been out of stock for YEARS. We also have been filling back orders that have been neglected and we are doing our best to remain positive despite the obvious drop in clientele since no one can call and even confirm we are open.

One of our near and dear friends called our phone number and was told by someone who identified himself as John Durante, owner of Evolve Body Jewelry, that Anomaly would only be open for a couple more days and in the mean time our friend should take her business to Puncture, Inc. in Upland, CA. Puncture has always been a good shop and usually staffed with the best people and great jewelry selection, but apparently the new owners (Evolve Body Jewelry/Laughing Buddha) like to play dirty and steal clients.

We are struggling hard to hang in there and keep the shop open, and despite some very hard work on the behalf of Mr. Durante and his company to shut us down it looks like we will still be here regardless. So let's show John Durante and Evolve Body Jewelry that we don't lie down to bullies... that you can't just come in and steal someone's business from them... let's show them that we believe in a society of fair play and equal opportunity. From this point on Anomaly will no longer stock jewelry by Evolve, we will be offering great discounts on any Evolve jewelry in stock (get it out of our sight, haha) and we will no longer be sending any business to Puncture, Inc. We don't trust people that play dirty and hopefully you don't either.

Last Friday,  Anomaly in Pasadena had it's business phone number stolen and illegally given/sold to a competitor. If you call the Anomaly number and get EVOLVE BODY JEWELRY, you now know why.

ANOMALY is still open, still selling jewelry and still kicking ass at awesome body piercings and hair services. There is no intention of closing and there is no possible way that EVOLVE BODY JEWELRY will be running our shop in 6 weeks. It is a ploy to hurt us financially and try to run us out of business. Let's repost, get the word out and pass it on to everyone out there. The courts will eventually restore our number, but in the mean time this despicable practice was done to try to run us out of business.

UPDATE - We are pressing charges and filing suits. None of us ever wanted to go to court, but we will not stand by and let criminals try to put the shop we have worked so hard at building for the last five years out of business. We will not let our clients be duped into service by people who are willing to throw all morals and ethics to the wind and deliberately break the law in an attempt to ruin us. Imagine what other laws they might be willing to bend for their own benefit.... We thank you all for your shows of support and for your solidarity in this trying time.     We have been getting numerous messages in our inbox and on emails saying that our website is not working.  

  I am here to update everyone on the going ons with our site.  

  We are currently in the process of changing hosting companies.  This has been not a tedious process, but more of a timely process.  We are in the process of porting all of our information over to our new hosting company as we speak.  This will give us better hosting services, better customer service on the back end of things, and give you, our friends and clients and better product overall to enjoy.

  We are also in the process of adding galleries, photos, links, and other things on our website that will make it more enjoyable as well!
