I can't believe there's only 1 week left in October. Where has this month gone????! It's been over a month since I've blogged, but honestly, I don't have anything new to write about. I can write about my daughter, but that's just more of the same old story - although I haven't paid anything for her in about a month because I have my own damn bills to pay. I could write about work. In fact, I think I will write about work. This week has been one hell of a week! We're in the process of rolling out Blackberries to some of our employees, so last week I was in Lancaster on Tuesday and Hagerstown on Thursday to get these Blackberries ready. This week, I was in Lancaster on Monday and Tuesday - Monday to finish up the Blackberries and then Tuesday to sit in on training and assist with another training session. On Wednesday and Thursday I was in Hagerstown (driving the 2-1/2 hour round trip each day) for assisting with training sessions each day. As it stands now on Thursday night, I have almost my entire 40 hours in for the week, so I'm only planning on working a very short time on Friday - mainly just to respond to e-mails that have piled up over the past few days. It's really amazing how the attitude of people varies from office to office. For example, with these Blackberries, there are people at each office who are supposed to help get them ready to be distributed because after they are distributed, those people on site are responsible for maintaining them. Well, when I went to Lancaster last week, nobody helped me with the Blackberries. I had to do them all by myself and I was highly pissed. I will say, however, that when I first got there, one woman asked me about helping and since I hadn't had any experience with these particular Blackberries prior to that day, I told her that I wanted to work on one or two myself to figure out exactly how the proces was supposed to work. I didn't see the point of having other people around me and we were all trying to fumble our way through the process. Later, when I was ready for help, a different woman came up to me and asked me if I had all of the Blackberries done. I told her that I was there to HELP with the Blackberries and not do them all by myself. She then proceeded to change the subject and then disappeared. So, those people have absolutely no fucking clue how to set one of these Blackberries up and the first time they call me for help, I'm going tell them how it is. The one woman there asked me about documentation, but our documentation for the setup process flat out sucks. It refers to figures/screenshots that aren't there and the menus shown for some functions are completely different than what is displayed on the Blackberry. I'm afraid that if I just give them the documentation, they'll be calling me even more to ask me about things that aren't clear in the documentation. Now, if they had walked through the process with me and made notes on the directions as we went along, then they could do this on their own. Also, when I went back to Lancaster on Monday, two of the people who should have helped me were off that day. The difference between Lancaster and Hagerstown was like the difference between night and day. In Hagerstown, when I was there last Thursday, I had 4 people helping to set up the Blackberries - including 2 guys who were scheduled to be off that day! They were great and they asked a lot of questions and even called me a couple of days in advance to see what they could do to get a head start. Oh... back to Lancaster. When I first got there, the one woman was all proud how they printed out labels for each Blackberry with the employee's name. I pointed out that the Blackberry was going to go inside a protective case, so the labels were going to need to be removed - or else they'd be covered up. Anyhow, it's amazing how they thought that was being helpful. I'm also kind of annoyed that I had to do this Blackberry rollout in two different sites this week. On top of that, I did another project involving our wireless network in each site AND another project in Hagerstown, so I had an EXTREMELY busy week. With this wireless network project, I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall in trying to get my teammates to get their asses moving on their sites. This project needs to be done by the end of the year and unless they have a sudden attack of motivation, we're not going to be done on schedule, and then I'll be the one who is made to look bad, so I guess it's time to hound my teammates once again.... But enough about work. I guess I could talk about my "love life", or lack thereof. I think I'm giving up. I was a member on Match.com recently, but I'm just so fucking sick and tired of those sites - or more specifically, the women on those sites. I suppose I could just strike up a conversation with a woman that I see somewhere, but I still just don't do that. It's not that I'm afraid to do it.... Hell, this past week while doing this wireless network project at work, I had to be lifted up on a forklift 30 or so feet in the air to replace some devices in our warehouse ceiling. Did I mention that I'm afraid of heights? I just did it! So, I'm sure that if I really wanted to go up to some woman whom I find attractive, I can just do that too.... but I don't. So I think that I'm just going to go about my life and if I'm meant to meet someone, I will. I'm not actively looking for anyone. I've been doing really well concerning exercising - until this past week. I've only exercised one day over the past 8 days. I need to get back into it over this weekend. Unfortunately, this coming week could also turn out to be somewhat hectic at work. Well, that's what's going on with me these days. I think it's time to get to bed.

A few months ago, I posted a joke I heard on "Jackie's Joke Hunt". That show airs on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio on Howard Stern's one channel. Well, it was on again last night and my radio recorded it and I happened to be playing it in my office today at work. When I heard this one joke, I really laughed out loud and I thought "I gotta post that on MySpace!"
It's kind of dirty, so consider this your warning. Get out now if you're afraid of dirty words!
So, one night a husband says to his wife "Hey! I think I'm going to cum in your ear tonight." The wife says "No way! I might go deaf!" The husband says "I doubt it! I'm always cumming in your mouth and you never shut the fuck up!"
Here's one more:
A husband says to his wife "What would you do if I ever won the lottery?" The wife says "I'd take half the money and leave your ass!" The husband says "Well, I won $12. Here's your $6, now get the fuck out!"

In my last blog, I wrote about how I loaned my daughter $300 and wasn't sure if she would be paying me back. Well, she called me Tuesday afternoon and told me she got fired from her job. While I feel bad for her, I'm also annoyed because I was counting on getting repaid. And then today she called me and said that she and her boyfriend broke up and on top of everything, her cell phone got turned off because her bill was overdue. Concerning her boyfriend, he wasn't working and although she doesn't admit it, I'm guessing that she was supporting him. That's the only thing I can think of to explain where all of her money was going since she made pretty good money at her job - and she wasn't using it to pay her own damn bills. Anyhow, I'm also guessing that now that she lost her job, this guy saw his gravy train drying up and he dumped her. Concerning her cell phone, she asked me if I could pay it for her so she could get it reactivated. I asked her how much her bill is. $190. I laughed because she already owes me $400 and now she wanted me to put out an additional $200 for her - when I have my own bills to take care of! Of course, she needs her cell phone because that's the number she's been listing on the job applications she's been submitting since getting fired. So I told her I might be able to help out, but I'm going to demand that she repays me when she gets her final paycheck next week. Of course, that probably won't happen and I'll be even more screwed. I'm seriously torn over what to do.... So while my daughter has been having a major life crisis this week, it kind of makes my problems seem minor in comparison. A while back I signed up for Match.com and I've been communicating with a woman from the site via e-mail. I suggested meeting at Starbucks and she suggested we meet at their Union Deposit location tonight at 6:15. Well, I got tied up at work until almost 5:45 and decided to take the most direct route (I-83) to the particular Starbucks where we were meeting, although heading north on this highway during evening rush hour can be unpredictable. I made it to the Starbucks in really good time, even though traffic was backed up at a couple of points on the highway and I sat in the parking lot and called my ex-wife about our daughter. While on the phone, I kept an eye on the entrance to Starbucks and didn't see the woman I was planning to meet, so I went into the store just before 6:15. And waited. I checked my phone. No calls. I checked Match.com. No new e-mails from her. I thought about calling her, but the last thing I wanted to do was call her and have her tell me "Sorry, I forgot!" - which I kind of had the feeling was the case. (And my feelings in these matters are uncannily accurate.) So, I waited until 6:30 and then decided to get myself a Mocha Lite Frappucinno - since I'd been looking forward to one all afternoon - and left. I then realized I'd left my Blackberry at work and since I'm working from home in the morning, I figured I'd better go back in and get it... so I headed back over to the west shore and then I finally headed back home. Upon arriving home, I e-mailed the woman on Match.com and said that I missed her and said how I waited and that I probably should have phoned her to confirm things, but as of Sunday night, everything was set in my mind. A couple of hours later, I received an e-mail from her that said she completely forgot about it. She is a teacher and I realize she had a busy week with school starting, but I don't take kindly to being forgotten... so I'm not sure now if I want to give her a second chance. I always say I'd rather be by myself than be with someone I'm not completely crazy over and I am not going to put myself into the same situations I've been in in the past, and the fact this woman completely forgot about meeting tonight bodes poorly for any future there could possibly be for us. I think I'm going to tell her she blew it and it's her loss. Because it is! By the way, I can't believe it's SEPTEMBER already. Ffffffuuuuuuck!!!!!!!!

It's around 2:45 AM and I'm sitting here on my sofa, sipping a Mojito and watching "Transsiberian" on DVD. I'm not into the movie too much (so far, anyhow), so I thought I'd break out my laptop and write a blog.
I've been on vacation this past week and I can't believe tomorrow/today is my last day off before I head back to work. This week really flew by, but I did a couple of things...
Monday, I went to Shady Maple Smorgasbord in Lancaster County with my dad, mom, niece and nephew to celebrate my dad's birthday. My dad turned 70 last Sunday and he LOVES Shady Maple and wanted to go there since you get a free breakfast, 20% off one item in their gift shop and a free pack of Whoopie Pies from their grocery store on your birthday. Since the place is closed on Sundays - because it's run by Amish people, we had to go Monday. (I think you have to go there within 2 days of your birthday, actually.)
After leaving Shady Maple, we went to the Park City Mall/Center in Lancaster to get my dad his birthday present. He wanted a stereo system that looks like an old style radio, but it has a turntable and allows you to record your albums onto CDs. We looked at Bon Ton and found one for $219, but my mom said it used to be $199 there. Then we decided to look in the other big stores there to try to find it cheaper. We went to Boscov's, JC Penny, Kohls - and pretty much walked all over the mall!
My mom mentioned that she had seen one of these stereos in Bed, Bath & Beyond, but apparently they don't have a store in Lancaster, so we came back to Harrisburg to check out what they had. After that, we went to Target since I'd seen one in there before and then my dad wanted to see the one at Bon Ton again, so we stopped at the store in the Colonial Park Mall. At the end of the day, we still hadn't bought it for him... My mom wanted to see if she had a coupon for 20% off at Bed, Bath & Beyond and we made plans to go buy it later in the week.
It was A LOT of walking that day!!!!!
Tuesday I didn't do anything out of the ordinary but then I went to see "District 9" on Wednesday and "Inglorius Basterds" on Thursday. I was going to go see "Halloween 2" on Friday, but traffic was a nightmare around the Harrisburg area and I wasn't going to make it in time, so I went to my mom's place and then she and I went to try to track down the stereo for my dad.
We went to dinner at TGI Fridays (her treat, no less!) and then we went to K-Mart, Boscov's, Sears, and Bon Ton - where we finally bought the damn thing!
Before we actually bought it, however, we saw the "Sale" sign on the thing listed the price as $250, so my mom started to have a cow and said "I'm going to talk to a manager!!!" It turns out, the price was the same as it was at the store in Lancaster - just their sign was wrong. Then, when we went to pay, I wanted to use a debit card I received as a rebate from Verizon for buying my new phone a few months ago. The card was worth $70, but it kept getting rejected every time the sales clerk tried to use it. I told her that it is supposed to be treated like a regular credit card and she said she was entering it that way. I think, however, the problem was that she was trying to charge the whole amount to my card, not $70 and that's why it kept getting rejected.
Since I didn't make it to see "Halloween 2" yesterday, I went today. After the movie, I went to the Capital City Mall. I mean, I haven't been there ALL WEEK and I'm usually there every week day for lunch! I went to Sears to see if they had any weed whackers left since mine died on me last weekend. I was in the middle of using it last Sunday when it started smoking really badly and it eventually died. I found one on sale for $40, so I bought it and then I ate dinner in the food court. I'd been wanting to eat at Yummy Japan for awhile now, so I finally had my chance tonight. This is a small restaurant in the food court, but they have a grill/hibachi to make the food while you wait. I ordered their chicken and shrimp teriyaki and it was very good.
Tomorrow/today I need to mow my lawn and I will break out my new weed whacker and put it to its paces. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I think it's supposed to be nice, anyhow.
Oh, one other thing happened on my vacation. On Tuesday, my daughter called me and asked if I could help her with her car insurance. She needed $300 to help with that... so I asked her when she would be paying me back and she said next week after she got paid. I looked at the calendar and said OK as long as I got repaid by Thursday.
She is also behind on her car payments and she said that she wanted to get caught up on that by paying $400. Now, I assumed she meant she had $400 now and since she wanted to pay that on her car, that was why she couldn't afford her car insurance.
So she stopped by my place Thursday afternoon to pick up a check and when I asked her about paying me back, she said it will be next week. I kind of gave her a hard time about this and asked her why she can't pay me back this coming week. She said she is going to use her next paycheck (she gets paid every week) to get caught up on her car payments. So... I don't know what the heck she did with this week's paycheck.
Anyhow, I'll probably be lucky if I ever see that money again....
She pissed me off a couple of weeks ago too. She asked if I could go to her bank and pay $200 on her car and then she was going to pay me back that weekend. Well, when the weekend came, she said that she had to buy new contacts and she could only afford to pay me $100.
So, right now, she actually owes me $400. Plus, I paid $130 for her cell phone as a birthday present and I think I gave her more money back in the spring... which has turned into a gift, not a loan, although she said she would pay me back when I gave it to her. Hell, I also think that she said that was going to be the last time that she asked me for money...
My mom has been bugging me about going on a trip sometime when I'm on vacation. Because of the economy, they've frozen our travel at work, but I usually travel enough that when I have vacation, I like to just stay at home and relax. My mom bought into some time-share crap last year and she had said about going to South Carolina, but I said I'd like to go to Las Vegas so she's been checking into that. I'm not sure about going to Vegas with my mom, though....
Anyhow, if my daughter doesn't pay me back, I think that will rule out my trip to Vegas.
Well, I think I'd better get to bed soon. I'm going to have a hard time getting back on my sleep schedule tomorrow night.

God, I'm bored....
I think I'll write a blog, but not just any blog. This is about a topic I've been kicking around my head for awhile, but since I haven't been blogging much lately, I've never actually gotten around to writing about it. Since I'm bored tonight and not ready for bed, it's time for this subject to see the light of day.
A few weeks ago, I saw a few things that I thought were pretty disturbing. I usually stop at the Giant on Linglestown Road Monday evenings on the way home from work. If you're outside the area, Giant is a popular grocery store chain around these parts and I will stop Mondays to stock up on some items to get me through the week.
On this one particular occasion, I spotted this one fairly attractive woman by the meat department. Now, I was checking her out by glancing over at her once in awhile. As I walked past the meat department, I noticed this older guy was walking nearby, but he was staring at the woman and not paying any attention to anything else. He was practically tripping over himself to check out this woman. Obviously, this guy doesn't get out in public very much.
As I was leaving the store a short while later, I saw another somewhat attractive woman loading her groceries into her car as I walked to my car. As I got to my car and opened my rear driver door to put my bags in the back seat, I saw a group of three young guys walking past the same somewhat attractive woman and they were talking loudly about her. They continued to walk past her and I saw the one guy motioning as if he was grabbing a woman by the hips as he was having sex with her from behind (as in doggie-style) and he was thrusting his own hips. They all had a big laugh and piled into their car. I thought "wow - I'm sure you guys caught her interest!"
It just seemed weird to see two cases of guys being idiots on the same trip to Giant. Admittedly, I haven't seen anything like that lately, so maybe it was just a full moon that day or something like that.
Still, I've been thinking how stupid we guys are.
Another story comes to mind, but this is from a long time ago. One woman I dated a few times told me that some other guy she had gone out with was being a real pest. She said he would hang out outside her apartment building and throw small pebbles at her window at night to get her attention. Why? I don't really remember... but there wasn't anything preventing him from just knocking on her door or calling her. I mean, it's not like she lived with her parents still - which is usually when guys would do something similar in movies or TV shows.
Also, I'm sure that if you're a woman and you're reading this, you've probably encountered some real idiots online. If not... you must be incredibly lucky.
I've heard stories of guys who e-mail pictures of their dicks to women. Ummm.... why? If a woman hasn't asked you for it, do you really think she's going to be happy that you're sending her a picture of your junk???! And if she has asked you for it, are you REALLY sure it's a woman you're talking to???
As for me... well, I've done a few things in the past, but nothing that I think would qualify as harassment.
Many years ago when I worked at Thompson Institute, a new young woman was hired and I happened to see her waiting in the lobby prior to her interview. I was struck by her beauty - she had brunette hair and she wore extremely little, if any, makeup. When I heard a new person was hired, I asked the manager (in a roundabout way) if it was this young woman who was hired and I mentioned that I saw her sitting in the lobby the day of the interviews.
This young woman started right around Valentine's Day and I decided to buy her a card. I actually bought her two. One was more of a flirtatious card while the other was more of just a friendly card. A co-worker said I should give her the flirtatious one, but I wussed out and gave her the friendly one. A short time later, I found out that the woman was engaged or at least living with a guy, so I was glad that I went with my gut and didn't give her the flirtatious one since I really have no desire to cause friction in someone else's relationship.
Speaking of cards, I sent a few cards for different occasions to a young woman I used to work with at Wal-Mart. She and I had been friends and hung out a few times before I met a woman who would go on to become my second wife. Of course, that didn't work out and afterwards, I found myself wondering whatever became of my friend - who I kind of had a crush on. Then, one day, I decided to look her up in the phone book and I saw her address was listed, so I decided to send her an anonymous card.
I did this for a few different occasions and always signed them something like "A secret admirer" - which probably freaked her out now that I look back on that. I don't know... or maybe she liked them. Hell, I'm sure she had worse things than that since as I pointed out above - we men can be idiots - and she was quite attractive.
In the last card that I sent, I kind of tipped my hand as to who I was, but didn't come right out and sign it. I said that I had last seen her when I ran into her in the parking lot of Festival Foods a couple of years before then. I never sent her anything after that.
There have been other stupid things I've done concerning women over the years, but I don't believe I've ever done anything to flat out repulse a woman - as I'm sure the woman in the Giant parking lot was when she heard and saw those three guys.
Then again, maybe I should since I haven't been making much headway using my current tactics.
This reminds me of something I heard on an episode of "Entourage" last season.
On this episode, Vince and Drama made a bet over who could get one of their other two friends laid first. Vince tried to help Eric get laid while Drama tried to help Turtle and it was mentioned that Eric wasn't born with "a sport fucking gene" and that's why he wasn't banging every chick in sight - the way Vince does.
When I heard them say this, I thought that could be said about me and that's why I don't try to get into every woman's pants.
Anyhow, as the title of this blog says, I am somewhat glad that I'm not a woman. I'm sure that I probably wouldn't be an attractive woman if I was one, but then again, even that doesn't stop guys from being idiots.
By the way, why can't I select anything for the "Tell us what you're listening to" link??? In case you're wondering, I'm listening to Pop Evil's "Lipstick on the mirror".

Earlier today, I was trying to decide what I wanted for dinner. I thought about going to the new Arooga's on Linglestown Rd, but the place looked pretty crowded when I drove by on previous Saturday nights - and I really don't want to put up with a crowd of drunken idiots.
Then I thought about the Red Lobster commercial I'd seen recently with their New Orleans Shrimp Jambalaya (available for a limited time!) and thought I'd try to go there.
Today was kind of a boring day since it was kind of dreary and it looked like it was going to start raining at any minute. Because of this, I skipped mowing today - even through the yard really needs it. I did, however, exercise, do my dishes and clean up the house a little. I then got cleaned up and I was ready to leave the house around 8:15, so I thought I would go to Red Lobster and see how long it would take to get seated.
The Red Lobster here in Colonial Park is ALWAYS busy. If I drive by and it's open, there's usually people standing outside. Speaking of which, it's kind of funny that I live like 5 blocks from the place and I eat at other Red Lobsters more often than this one! In fact, the last time I ate at this one was probably around 3 years ago when a co-worker was in town. We went there one evening and I made a comment about how it had been a long time since I'd been at that restaurant.
I can't remember for sure, but probably prior to that, it had been over 10 years since I'd eaten there. I remember for Valentine's Day, I took an ex there and we waited like 2 and a half hours to get seated. I think that left a bad taste in my mouth concerning this particular restaurant.
I also remember going there with the same individual when I was teaching both day and night classes at Thompson Institute and I would go out to dinner between classes. On this particular occasion, a glass of ice cold wine was accidentally knocked over and it flowed across the table and right into my lap! It was so cold, it took my breath away. Anyhow, I went into the men's room to try to clean up and when I came back out, my companion thought I was upset and had left, but I said that I actually thought it was pretty funny.
And one more short note concerning this restaurant - my mom almost worked there when they first opened. I remember coming to Harrisburg with her when she applied for it, but I don't remember how long ago that was.... it had to be the early 1980's because I think it was before she went to work for the same company as my dad. Or maybe it was after that? I honestly can't remember... and my memory is usually pretty good about these kind of things.
So when I got to the hostess station, I was told there was a 5 to 10 minute wait, so I sat and waited. I really don't think it took that long, and then the hostess took me to a table out in this one section that only had a few other parties and the stuck me in the corner all by myself. WTF???!
I wasn't real comfortable going there by myself and putting me there, kind of out of the way, seemed odd to me. By the time I was finished, I was the ONLY person in my section.
So I ordered the New Orleans Shrimp Jambalya and it was pretty good. Pretty..... pretty good! I also had a Triple Berry Sangria which was pretty good too, but it had a LOT of ice in it and there really wasn't much to it.
On a side note, I don't know why, but I never - and I mean NEVER - seem to get an attractive woman for a waitress....
After finishing dinner, I then ran to Target to pick up a couple of things and then I headed across the river to the Camp Hill Cinema Center to see the 10:05 showing of "Funny People".
I've been wanting to see this movie, but they just didn't have it showing at a time that worked into my schedule and now they've reduced it to just 2 showings a day: 11:15 AM and 10:05 PM. WTF???! So you know this is the last week this movie's going to be in the theater, and I believe this is the only theater where it's still playing in the Harrisburg area.
I made it to the theater with plenty of time to spare and when I went into the auditorium, I thought "Ummmm.... I think my TV is bigger than this screen!" Well, it's not REALLY, but when I'm sitting on my sofa, my TV fills more of my view than the screen in this theater did - based on where I was sitting.
I really liked this movie, by the way. It was really funny at parts and had a good story. There were a few weird moments, but overall, it was very good.
I didn't realize the movie was 2 hours and 16 minutes long. For some reason, I thought it was an hour and 46 minutes long, so at 12:15, I was thinking "how many damn previews did they show before this movie????!"
I didn't get out of the theater until around 12:40. Kinda late to be in a theater - even in my mind! I then came straight home.
So, my Saturday evening consisted of dinner and a movie. Almost a date - if it weren't for the fact that I was completely by myself.

I heard this song on Sirius the other day. It's called "My Wena" and it's by Bowling For Soup. I guess it's new... or fairly new. Since I don't listen to regular radio, I don't know if they play this song. If they do... well, it's pretty risque. Sure, it's all tongue-in-cheek, but if you don't know what they're talking about... well, you're stupid. Actually, the video should clear things up for you if you have any doubts. You know the drill. Stop the music above and click the video below to play it.

It's been quite awhile since I've written an actual blog entry on here. Yeah, I posted those videos/songs from the Bubba the Love Sponge show and if you didn't find them particularly funny, well, I'm sorry you don't have a very good sense of humor! I also posted a short blog about Michael Jackson, but that was just so I could throw out a few jokes about the man. Again, if you didn't like them, or you were offended... well, then you need to stick to reading my other blog. So... what have I been up to? Ummmm. Not a whole hell of a lot. Work and... uh.... that's really about it. I did get back into exercising around 7 weeks ago. I started out slow since I hadn't exercised since November, but now I'm hitting the elliptical trainer for 45 minutes a night, 6 nights a week. On top of that, I'm doing some other things and it's kind of amazing to see the results. Don't get me wrong. I've still got some weight to lose, but I know it's going because my constitution is strong. Unfortunately, I just wish I could maintain my constitution during the winter months. Hopefully by then, I won't need to devote as much time to exercising and I can avoid my usual hibernation state during the cold, bleak winter and just to try maintain my weight. One thing I'm doing differently is exercising shortly after I get home from work rather than late at night before I go to bed. The drawback to this is that I'm now eating dinner anywhere between 9:00 and 10:00 PM. Ugh!!! I need to start exercising RIGHT AFTER I get home from work... but I always sit down here at my computer and surf a few websites and I don't usually start my routine until 7:00 PM. My daughter turned 21 this past Tuesday. I can't believe it. I actually haven't seen her for over a month now. It seems like every time I've expected her to visit, she's either been sick or worked overtime for some extra cash - which she really needs. Back in June, she had a 6 mm kidney stone and was off work for over two weeks. Her employer put her on short-term disability so she got some money, but not her usual amount - plus she now has doctor & hospital bills to pay. In fact, the last time I saw my daughter was when she had her kidney stone. I was on vacation that week and went to see her in the ER that Wednesday afternoon. I stayed with her and her mom went home because she was "exhausted". Around 8:30 that evening, they took her to the operating room to insert a stent and then they wanted to keep her overnight for observation since she had a slight fever. I stayed with her until they took her to her room for the night and she was starting to doze off around 10:30. While there that night, I was reminded of how I went to see her in the hospital after she was born. When Michelle was born, she wasn't breathing and they had to work on her in the corner of the delivery room. Her mom is a pretty small woman and they had her doped up pretty good due to the pain while she was giving birth and they said that the drugs affected Michelle. Anyhow, they placed her in their Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit to keep her for a few days. At the time, I was teaching night classes at Thompson Institute and I would stop in at the Polyclinic Hospital to see her after leaving work at 10:30. I told Michelle about this the next morning when I went to pick her up at the hospital. So that next morning she was discharged around 9:45 and then she had to go get an X-Ray taken at a different doctor's office and after that, she had to go to see her Urologist. After all that, I took her to her mom's place up in Halifax - so that was a pretty busy day. She's OK now, by the way. A few days after that, she went to her Urologist and he used focused sound waves to break up her kidney stone. I'm still surprised that she had a kidney stone since she's so young, but when I asked her Urologist about it, he claimed she's the prime age for a stone. Of course, the fact that she drinks practically nothing but soda probably didn't help her. When she and her ex-boyfriend would come to visit me, they would drink soda for breakfast. Oh, yeah - I just mentioned her "ex-boyfriend". They broke up back around Memorial Day. I think she was cheating on him.... so it really seems like she is just like her mom. Also, her mom had a kidney stone around the time she was Michelle's age. Weird... And speaking of soda, I can't remember when is the last time that I drank any! I know it really hasn't been that long, but I just can't recall exactly when. Along with my exercising, I've been drinking A LOT of water. I usually drink 40 or 60 ounces while at work (two or three 20 oz bottles) and then two VitaminWater 10's (they have 10 calories per serving). At home, I'll drink another 20 oz bottle while exercising and then another 20 oz later. I figure I'm probably drinking around 120 oz of liquid a day. Sometimes I'll have an iced tea and if I'm dragging badly in the afternoon while at work, I'll drink a can of Lo-Carb Monster Energy. Anyhow, it's very rare that I'll drink an actual soda. I've been watching a lot of movies this summer. I haven't been going to the theater very often because sometimes they just don't have the movies showing at a time that I can get to them. For instance, at work, they've been real sticklers about us working our scheduled time - which is fine with me, but now I can only go see movies if they start shortly after 5:00 PM. This weekend, I wanted to go see "Funny People", but the Camp Hill Cinema Center (which is just a few minutes from where I work) had showings at 3:00 PM (way too early!) and 7:00 PM. I probably could have waited until then, but if I'm going to see a movie by myself, I'd rather it be a late afternoon matinee showing. When you get into the evening showings, they're usually filled with people on dates and while I don't mind seeing a movie by myself, I feel a little out of place for these later shows. So, instead of seeing "Funny People", I went to see "Whatever Works". This is a Woody Allen movie staring Larry David of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - one of my favorite shows. It was a really good movie! After that, I went to Neato Burrito for dinner (hey - I said I'm exercising. Not dieting!) and then Target and Wal-Mart. Speaking of Wal-Mart, when I got home that evening, I had to update my status to say I "fucking hate Wal-Mart!". I went to the one on the Carlisle Pike and they're currently in the process of remodeling it. I wanted to get some batteries for my shower radio and I looked in the toy department (which they moved) and Electronics, but couldn't find them! I finally found them up by the cash registers... so I need to make a mental note of that for future reference. It's not just the fact that I couldn't find stuff in the store. I hate the fucking idiots who shop there. For instance, I wanted to walk down one aisle in their food section, but there were these two big women walking side by side as they approached me. The one cow... I mean woman... had a shopping cart and it was moving, but she wasn't pushing it with her arms. I don't know if she had given it a good push a few steps back or if she was just pushing it with her ample gut. You see, her hands were busy holding her phone and texting and that had her entire attention. Of course, the other cow... I mean woman... didn't even attempt to allow me to pass. I swear sometimes that I must be invisible. I was recently in Target checking out the new DVD releases and this little kid was running down the aisle towards his mom. I saw him coming so I stepped in closer to the rack of DVDs, but the little bastard still ran RIGHT INTO ME! He looked up at me like "what are you doing here?" and then started running again. But back to Wal-Mart. I'm beginning to think their lower prices aren't enough justification to go there and put up with shit. It's also bad when you wait in an Express checkout lane and it takes forever. I think that if the checkout person asks me how I'm doing, one of these times I'll say "I'll be much better when I get out of this fucking store!!!!" I swear I have ADD too... I wanted to talk about movies, but I ended up bitching about Wal-Mart. Anyhow, I've been watching a lot of DVDs from Netflix too. I want to whittle down my queue because some of the movies have been in there for awhile. A couple of weeks ago, I was watching a movie every night - and it worked out great because I have 3 movies out at a time, so if I watched one, I could drop it in the mail the next morning and then get a new one in two days - which is when I would be ready for another one. Of course, weekends messed this up, so I've also watched a few free streaming movies through Netflix some nights. Lately, I've slowed down on my number of movies thanks to some TV shows I'm watching. Nothing new on the dating front... although I did go on an actual, honest-to-goodness date a couple of months ago. It was with a woman that my mom worked with. Need I say more? We met at Gilligans one Friday evening and while we had a good time, I didn't feel inclined to call her back. I don't mean to be rude or ignorant, but I just wasn't attracted to her. I guess I'm a bit of an ass for not calling her back... but at least I didn't walk out immediately after I saw her or arrange to have an "important call" which would require me to leave shortly after meeting her. I have no problem making the best of the situation and talking and having a good time. So that was my first date in about 2 years, I believe. The previous one being the time I met a woman at Red Robin, but she was about 10-15 minutes late and didn't have the courtesy to call and tell me she was running late, so I was sitting there in the lobby like a jackass wondering if I was being stood up. I think I mentioned I had signed up for eHarmony again in a previous blog. Well, that was a complete and utter waste of money. I was communicating with one woman on there, but she was 40 with no kids and she just struck me as being very needy and that she felt her biological clock ticking and she wanted to start a family. At that point, my subscription expired. Thankfully! After my subscription to eHarmony expired, I subscribed to Match.com because I had 2 e-mails waiting in my Inbox. Well, the one e-mail was from a woman I wasn't interested in and the other was interesting, so I wrote her back but I never heard from her again. Right now, my subscription is about half over and I'm just really annoyed with the site. I think my biggest problem is that I find something wrong with everyone on there. I'll be like "She's too tall!", "She's a Church nut!", "She likes NASCAR!", "She wants kids!" or "Why does she have her underwear hanging on her shower curtain rod while she's taking a picture of herself in her bathroom mirror????!" I also find that the women that I'm interested in won't even give me the time of day while I'm not at all interested in the women who are interested in me! I know women have to be bombarded with messages on there, but geez... if you're not interested in someone, have the decency to tell them. Match makes it real easy... there's a link that says "Not interested?" when you get an e-mail or wink. I use it and I wish women would too. I'm a big boy. I can take it if someone isn't interested. Well, this blog didn't turn out quite the way I planned. I had a topic in mind - not just a rambling update on what's been going on in my life. It's also gotten quite long and since it's after 4:00 AM, I better get to bed.

Michael Jackson was a great entertainer back in the 80's & 90's. There is no denying that. The man changed the music industry. Hell, before Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean", MTV was for rock music and they never played any videos by African-American artists. Michael Jackson alone changed the landscape of MTV and put into motion a series of events that has resulted in the current incarnation of MTV being a completely different beast compared to when it was originally launched. (Do they ever play music videos any more???!) Also, Michael Jackson's video premieres for "Thriller" and other songs became events on MTV. Of course, the man got in some trouble when he was accused of inappropriate behavior with young boys. In all the articles I've read since the man died, and honestly it's not that many, they seem to either overlook his problems or they give the man the benefit of the doubt and believe that he was simply the target of greedy individuals. I, however, think a bit differently. What if he really did do perverted things with those young boys???! I don't think he should be vilified. I just think there should have been less of a spectacle made of his death and he shouldn't have been treated as if the President of the United States had passed away. With that said, here are a few Michael Jackson jokes.... just because I have a weird sense of humor. If you're likely to be offended, get out of my blog! Don't say I didn't warn you!! So I heard that when Michael Jackson's doctor found him lying unconscious, he tried to perform CPR on him, but when he pinched Michael's nose to give him mouth-to-mouth, it came off!!! According to the Coroner's report, Michael Jackson actually died of food poisoning. It turns out he ate too many 12-year old wieners!!!! I saw on the news the other day that a group of kids was gathering at the gate to Neverland Ranch. They were waiting for the police to let them out!!!!!! McDonalds is going to be honoring Michael Jackson with a new burger called the McJackson. It will have a 50-year old piece of meat between two 8-year old buns!!! What's the difference between Michael Jackson and acne? Acne didn't come on Macauley Culkin's face until he was 13!!! Ok... that's enough. Here are two videos that you need to check out. They're not Michael Jackson videos, although they are great parodies of his videos. Eat It Fat Weird Al is great! Not only are they funny as hell (be sure you listen to the lyrics), it's amazing how he duplicated some of the scenes from Michael Jackson's videos. And with that, I'm done.
