Tampa Metal Music Examiner Pull the TripleverAugust 13, 7:29 PM Tampa Metal Music Examiner Wes Cambron When thinking about Arizona, two things don't come to mind; Super Bowl rings and a metal scene. Right? Wrong. A metal scene is slowly emerging from the blistering heat and legendary humidity that is Arizona. Keeping out of the Bay Area (Tampa or San Francisco), many Thrash-influenced metal acts are sprouting up out of nowhere. Whether they are death metal, black metal, power metal, doom metal, hair metal or even hardcore, the desert is starting to look different from when Jim Morrison was tripping in it. .jpg) Triplever posing for a promo shoot.
One of the first to plant their flag was Phoenix's own Triplever. Though they never say what the name means, or if you should ever pull it, but Triplever never tripped over any obstacles to gain a fan base in the tens of thousands. Impressive lyrics and lyrical hooks can get a crowd singing, or amped up for a pit. Guitars and bass are usually a band's most power tool. But Triplever is unique with their past pace and hard hooks. Coming in with hardcore-like death metal, the vocals are similar to a Jack Daniel's and cola; the cola added just for color, so is the hardcore edge. The band's sound is heavily relied on by the drums. Virtually every song the massive drum beats can be felt across the room, when listening to their debut album, Beyond The Grave. Triplever performing live. Triplever is currently gearing up for their second album. Not before they play a show at Mardi Gras in Scottsdale, AZ on Aug. 29th. Can the band repeat the success of Beyond The Grave? Many fans believe if they stick to their guns and never compromise, like their influences Pantera and Lamb of God, that won't be a problem. Triplever started out in Arizona, where metal was a stranger, and made it boom. Who's next, Wyoming? .jpg) Cover of Triplever debut album Beyond The Grave

Current mood: rejuvenated
Due to a recurring health issue, James's informed us that he doesn't think he will be able to continue on as our drummer for the long term. Rather than let us down when we're touring, he feels it's in the bands best interest to start looking now. We will be very sad to see James go, he will be missed. We have found our drummer! We would like to welcome Ray 3113 to the Triplever family!

We would like to personally thank Dave from KNAC.com for taking time to review our Debut CD.
New Debut from Crash Music Records Turns Up the Metal
Triplever's debut release on Crash Music/Crash Merchant Records, Beyond the Grave, is a sonic annihilation on your senses. Immediately you are beat about the head and ears with the dual riffing of guitarists Mike Alexander and Kyle Stevenson. John and James Ledlow (bass and drums respectively) came hammering in to solidify the Triplever sound. And before you know it, vocalist Ray Coon is in your face
This is an excellent entry in to the metalcore genre, especially at a time I was growing very tired of all the copycat bands that think the key to success is having a vocalist you can't understand. Ray fits right in the genre as if he was a seasoned vet. While at times he does sound like he could get lost in the shuffle of anonymous vocalists in this genre, his voice lies somewhere in between Randy Blythe and Phil Anselmo. He pulls it off. Some of his potency can be found in Nameless and Better Way to Die where you can experience the different aspects of his voice. You literally ask yourself "Is this the same guy??!!".
Laden through the entire disc is ferocious riffs from Mike and Kyle who are beginning to carve their own chapter of metal's book on dual guitarists. Nothing comes across as stale or "been there, heard that", they truly have their own unique style that meshes well together. Merchants of Chaos, Wasted and the licks behind the main riff during Without Warning are perfect examples of why your chiropractor will love you after getting this CD. And needless to say, John keeps it thick and heavy, waving his bass lines effortlessly for the entire duration.
James keeps the pace with some very energetic drum styles, however, at times the sound of the snare doesn't seem to come together sound-wise. Trust me, it's not the St. Anger syndrome by any stretch of the definition. At times it just seems too hollow. Bloodshed would be a good example of this. Thankfully, its not prominent for most of the disc, most of the time it's a hammer to your head the way you like it.
The boys give a big 'fuck you' to Nathan Gale in the near anthem Punk with a Gun:
What the fuck When I woke one day You killed a legend And went away What the fuck Were you thinking? What went wrong in your head? You've got no morals And now you're dead Punk, now you're just a Punk, with a gun
Picking up this disc for the first time you would think its their sophomore effort, or hell even a third release. Triplever displays with full brutality that they are a force that will be around for some time.
Tracklisting:
1. Bloodshed 2. Purgatory 3. Beyond the Grave 4. Better Way to Die 5. Wasted 6. Militia 7. Jackhammer 8. Punk with a Gun 9. Merchants of Chaos 10. Firebomb 11. Without Warning 12. Nameless 13. Aftermath

CLICK HERE FOR ACTUAL REVIEW FROM KNAC.COMInto Eternity in Glendale AZ By CrpnDeth, News Contributor Friday, September 15, 2006 @ 5:30 PM KNAC.COM website linkThe band takes a break from Gigantour '06 Decided to catch Into Eternity the day before Gigantour hit town due to they were dropped from the Phoenix bill along with Sancity and the Smashup. Figured if Mustaine hand picked them for Gigantour like he does all the bands, they gotta be pretty good. Sorry to say, that does mean I havent caught them live before. I got a couple of surprises I wasnt expecting. First off, the club. The parking lot was tiny and once inside the club, it took me awhile to believe that a band playing on Gigantour would be playing here. This place was small. The next surprise was actually worth the trip. With Into Eternity not hitting the stage until 11:15, I got the unusual pleasure of catching one of the opening bands, Triplever. These guys were good. Real good. They had my attention for the full set, which as you know is rare for an opening band. They hit the stage with Beyond the Grave, Jackhammer and Militia. By now the floor was packed, pushing up against the stage and raising all sorts of hell. The crowds reaction was unbelievable. By the time the band went through Wasted, Bloodshed, Merchants of Chaos, Without Warning and finished the set with Purgatory the mosh pits hadnt tired once. And everyone was moshing even the chicks. And Im not talking about those is that a guy or a chick? types either. The chicks were holding their own. It was truly impressive. At one point the bigger guys formed an outer barrier so the chicks could do their own thing. When was the last time you saw that happen?? While I literally sat amazed at the performance as the band left the stage, I honestly couldnt help but think why havent these guys been on the second stage at Ozzfest yet?. They could easily explode off the second stage like so many other bands before them. Any one in the Phoenix area needs to look for these guys in December when they release their new CD through Vibe Merchant Records. Youre not going to be disappointed. Finally, Into Eternity gets on stage and lets loose. By the time the band finished the first song, it dawns on me .half the crowd has left. HALF. I thought I would be walking in to a IE crowd from everything I have heard about them, but I was wrong. Now remember - this was just an observation. Im not knocking the band at all. IE was tight, they were good and they roared. They played a few tracks off their upcoming CD (such as Severe Emotional Distress and Timeless Winter), their musicianship was stellar but honestly, they just didnt seem to carry the momentum that Triplever built up. It could be just one of those things maybe it was the club, maybe because it was the Tuesday night 11:15 stage time, maybe it was the off night who knows. Good thing was, the band didnt care. They played as if there were 20,000 people there, and it definitely showed. Lead singer Stu Block commanded the stage and put everything he had in to each and every song. Regardless of how this show went, you should get out and see them on Gigantour. You will be glad you did.
