hi there folks, i would like to take some time to NOT talk about the arts or friends and lovers, but to share with you some ideas i have concerning perhaps the best hope for our nation's future. as many of you who know me personally already know, i support congressman dennis kucinich for president of the united states. it seems to me that our nation is at an historic crossroad, that, if the correct path is chosen, will guarentee that the united states will continue to be the leading superpower of economic, cultural, military, and moral standing for the 21st century. i fear however, that if the wrong path is taken, we will see the sun set on our great nation, as we regress into a second tier state. now is the time to be couragous, to think boldly, to not allow YOUR BEST INTERESTS to be set aside for the sake of " the greater good". ask yourselves hard questions: do you feel pride when you think of our country? do you see promise in tomorrow? does being an american mean struggling to get by in the most prosperous nation in human history? is fear something you want to live with for the rest of your life? i have asked these questions of myself, and the answer to each and everyone of them is NO! i believe that the promise of the united states is to be a leader in social causes, to be a partner in peace throughout the world, to be a catalyst for freedom and self determination for all humanity. i believe that being an american DOES grant me certain entitlements, but that they are tempered by a responsibility towards others. fuck "rugged individualism". if there is one thing i know for sure, it is that we are all in this together. i am my brother's keeper, and i have been granted stewardship over the world. it is my moral obligation to speak out for peace, and the environment, and justice. that being said, we have few really good choices in our leadership today, but there is hope (and no, i dont mean huckabee)! congressman dennis kucinich is EXACTLY the kind of candidate we all wish for. someone who inspires us and challenges us. he is honest, and compasionate, and believe it or not, he comes from the same places as you and i. his life experience has been filled with challenges overcome and dreams made manifest. i urge each of you to learn more about him before voting in your state primary or caucus. be couragous, vote for the best, dare to imagine an america like what our grand parents had, one where we could trust our leaders to serve us honestly, where we could believe them when they asked us to do the things that were hard because it would make us better, and that tomorrow we would be better off than today. VOTE KUCINICH!!!! thank you all, and have a great 2008 mike/ suicide tuesdays

Current mood: crushed
soooooo...... as many of you know and some dont, i have had the grace of a muse cast upon me for some time. well i finally get that this divine spirit does not want to feed my soul or even have anything to do with me any more. i must move on, even with a broken heart. i am now searching for that someone, not a super natural force, just someone who believes in me and will stand by my side as i take on the world like the protagonist of some chuck palahniuk novel ( think choke more than fight club). i will soldier on. i will love. i will smile. hey...its 3:00 am and ive been drinking heavily, and the beat of kyo is still throbbing in my head. my next entry will be far more coherent, i promise.... ah, the life of an artist! or maybe i'm kidding myself. l8er suckers!

Current mood: sick
well, after 2 stress-filled, emotionally wresting straight (not a single day off) weeks, curating, installing and premiering a major exhibit at the gallery i call my day job, and suffering the last 3 days with the WORST migraine of my life, i check my inbox today, and a message from my very good friend john david almost had me up and dancing like a little school girl. Macalmont and Butler's single "YES" in a live video performance! my nausea almost subsiding and my sweat breaking, i found myself singing along to one of the finest, most under-appreciated pop songs of the '90's. thank you john, "...yes i do feel better, yes i feel alright..." p.s. this proves that the best friends know whats going on even without verbal communication

Current mood: working
So my very good friend John David, whom i have played in several projects over the years, calls me up and says: i wanna do this song by a band from the 80's called "the sound"...its a great song called Unwritten Law... so i says to him i says: sure why not (i am a man of few words). so after months of NOT getting together, we finally did it today, he's on guitars and vox and bass, and im pulling drummer duty(huh, huh...i said duty) and of course producing, although to be fair, i did have a go at the bass myself, but i was"too creative" for mr. "i wanna try and be fairly faithful". John has already spoken to some folks who are putting together a post punk tribute album and a fully mixed version may very well get on. not bad for 4 hours work (but then again, i AM just that good). On point...you folks should really check out THE SOUND. a seminal post punk, almost pre shoegazer outfit with a frontman taken too early. ooh well.....l8r suckers :X
