Current mood:  blissful
Category: Travel and Places
I've been enjoying some downtime in eastern Spain with my parents and have had an out-of this world couple of weeks; I've enjoyed just lounging on the beach, partying every night, hiking and even took further steps towards my scuba-diving passion by snorkelling in the Mediterranean; who needs to go all the way to the Great Barrier Reef when you can see Nemos, flounders, angelfish, catfish, octopuses and box jellyfish off the Spanish coast?  It was truly amazing to discover a different world, and it was so relaxing I could have done it all day!
To round off our days in paradise, we headed to Es Pins restaurant, which overlooks Santo Tomas beach, where they serve the most delicious food at a smile-inducing price.  The views from the plethora of open-air bars were breathtaking and I kept getting my camera out to shoot the sunset.  I noticed a lot of the gift shops on our resort were a bit pricey, but the best souvenirs are always your photos and the sand that sits in shoes and bags for weeks afterwards... priceless!

Where we were was the small island of Menorca, which sits in between France and Africa; the flights were interesting too because we got our safety demo done by little kids and we flew over the snow-capped l'Amboise (France).  To say Menorca is only 37 miles long, it was a beautiful place packed with things that just have to be seen and smelt, like turquoise water and white sand, the smell of forest pine and orange blossom in the air.  I snook some flowers into my case too, but they've dried out now.  I had a wonderful time and I feel great for it.

My close friend Ian Brown is doing an intimate gig on August 25 and I'm definitely going to see him as I count him as one of the finest minds in music; He's just a legend and he's always spot-on. I should ask him:  "Ian, how do you do it? Good looks, out of this world music, and a presence inspiring to all generations...?"  He's just so cool & he's lovely.

U2 take over the UK in a few days time and again I'm filled with an excitement I've not felt since my early teens.  I can't wait! Bono, metallic eyeliner is for women! if you want unisex slap you should try screenface.com, it's excellent! : - ), See you in Sheffield xxx

Off out tomorrow night cos' I've been working bloody hard.  Mark's been having trouble with his teeth but they're O.K now.  Some relatives came over from Cyprus last week and it was a God-send to hear from them.
The new project is really coming on.  I found a backlog of unpublicised stuff the other day so shall include that too.  I'm also looking for cover designs.  Will keep you posted xxx.

Fellow U2 fans with fingers crossed for a tour, I would strongly advise you go about obtaining tickets, venue details, etc. as soon as you get up or get to the office, as the shows will definately sell out at a box-office smashing time.  I'm really looking forward to the boys' promised tour, hearing hits from Boy to No Line On The Horizon night after night;  they never get tired of it, and I don't, because for some people, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I haven't really been sleeping, as I have 101 things on my mind right now; mother has moved yet again so it means an even longer and harder trek (in the snow!) to visit her about 100 miles away, but it's becoming second nature.
Caian's hair has totally grown back now and he's gone back to his cheeky ol' self!  I can't even keep up with him some days.
My new projects for 2010 were coming along nicely; but I've got writer's block and CRAFT Syndrome (Can't Remember A F***ing Thing).  I hope it won't last too long.

If anyone's got a floating £5 (rare in these tough times!) then why not head to JB's in Dudley on Mon 2 Feb, as they're hosting a talent night for local bands/artists(doors open 7pm).  One of the acts playing is cool indie band The Militants.  The gig's in aid of a charity for kidney patients at Birmingham Children's Hospital.  Tell your friends then It'll be a profitable night!

If I had special powers I'd blow January out with a blowtorch!  I wake up to dark & drizzle every morning and to top things off I've been struck down with the mother of all colds.  Could it get any shittier!

You may or may not be aware, that the making of my new project is under way. However, even though I started collaborating my ideas before Christmas, the book will now be released mid 2010, the delay is due to commitments beyond my control.  Sorry for building all your hopes up guys!

What did I get up to this yuletide? Well, first off, I woke up on Christmas Day with the world's worst hangover, then my mum came up and we flew open gifts; I got 3 lots of perfume, chocolates, a new camera and a DAB digital radio to add to my ever growing collection of vintage radios. Today I hit the Boxing Day sales and snapped up a new LBD, quilted clutch bag (which I may give to Sarah) and some grey strappy shoes, which have killer - I mean killer heels. :-)
