We’re all very excited… our first show is next week:  Sunday January 25th at the North Star Bar… if you want to see us in Philly be there at 8:30pm on the dot (we’re the opener for Elf Power and Vic Chesnutt)....

We are currently working on a little mini-tour of our own… in April 2009we will be doing select dates in the North East along with our friends Still Flyin’ (from San Francisco).  They will be out here touring to support the release of their first full-length for the Ernest Jenning Record Company.  We’ll be playing NYC, Boston, DC, and Philadelphia.  Those dates are being worked on now and we will post them here as soon as we get them in.....

Also, January 11th saw the re-release of our first album The Ghost Of HW Beaverman on the Irish label Indiecater Records. They are currently promoting this record in Ireland/UK and anywhere with the internet.  To read more about this re-release visit: Folklore on Indiecater Records.

In other news, a new Philadelphia vinyl-only label called Slipshod Mucus Kiss is going to be releasing a split 7" featuring Folklore and Hermit Thrushes that we are now working on collaboratively.  This is scheduled to be a 7" / DVD release, and we are currently talking to an animator who is interested in working on the visual aspects of our music.  I will let you know more about this project as it develops, but for now, it is in the works and needless to say, we are all very excited about it.

Folklore's live session was posted today at Daytrotter.com. We did this studio session while on the road during our last tour… please check it out on the front page TODAY or go to the direct link here. The band has also just posted a new music video for the song "Bingo Beats" off the Carpenter's Falls album, out October 21st 2008 on bumbleBEAR records.  We also just posted an updated version of our video for "Lake Bonaparte"... the new version uses footage from the original video but has been re-edited to reflect the new version of the song as appears on Carpenter's Falls.  We're excited about this news and just wanted to let you all know.

Sorry it's been awhile since the last update.  A lot has been going on.  For one thing, I have moved to Philadelphia, but fear not.  Contrary to rumors, Folklore will still exist beyond this move.  All the rest of the band members still live in Athens and I live in Philadelphia so we'll get together and play shows whenever we can.  I also might jam with some new people in Philadelphia if the right people come along.  In the meantime, I am going to spend the next couple of months mixing our 3rd full-length which we've nearly finished recording (slated to be titled "Home Church Road").  Also, in October bumbleBEAR records is officially releasing our 2nd full-length "Carpenter's Falls".  So even though we are on a live-show-hiatus, there are some exciting things in the works… so please stay tuned and thanks for your support.

Elf Power is in Spain right now with Vic Chesnutt supporting our record that we recorded with him last year (that comes out in October on Orange Twin Records). I am sitting out this tour due to my move, but I will be back in with them for the US tour which starts at the end of October.  Check out the Elf Power Website for show updates and hopefully I will see some of you then.
