Current mood: drained
I am done with my Christmas shopping, thank god! I also have enough groceries to do us for a week, and have bought stuff for our Christmas Eve party and Christmas dinner. Which means I don't have to step foot into a store unless I want to for a whole week! Tried real hard to get most of the stuff on Brandon's list, but everyone was sold out of the things he wanted. At least I did manage to get a few of the things he wanted. I think he will be happy on Christmas Day. Nathan, too. At least he's still little and doesn't care what he gets.

Gotta take Nathan for another dentist appt. today, at 12:15. Not looking forward to it. The poor kid just does not want anyone messing with him. He is only 3...and going through a rather difficult phase right now. Brandon gave me his letter for Santa this morning...damn...it is LONG! He wants a lot of very expensive things, and every item except one is wrestling related. Stuff like 'Guitar Hero World Tour' & 'Smackdown VS Raw' for the PS3..4 wrestling action figures (2 with belts)..a PS2 video game..2 wrestling DVDs...& 3 replica title belts! DAMN!! I told him that Santa might not get him everything, maybe 1-2 things, and he says.."maybe he will bring me 3 things." What a sweetie! I wish we could buy him everything he asked for, but dang, we simply cannot! We do have Nathan to buy for. And Eric still hasn't received his paycheck from last week, and it's Thursday!! It is getting really difficult around here. Losing my Christmas Spirit fast. If it wasn't for my kids I would say F*** it...and cancel Christmas this year. I know people say that the true meaning of Christmas is being together as a family..but kids don't understand, they just know Santa brings you presents on Christmas Eve. Ugh...

Are you ready for Christmas? I'm not. And to top it all, Eric's boss hasn't given him his paycheck yet. WTF? Who does that? If you are running a business, you pay your employees when they work. We have kids and expenses. He has already taken a pay cut..and now this crap. The state of the economy has really hurt a lot of people. Right now no one is having any work done on their houses until after Xmas, which sucks if you are in the construction business. After this job Eric is doing is finished...he probably won't have any work until after Jan. 1st. Fortunately he has a few prospects to keep the family going until then. But it does make finishing shopping for Christmas and paying the bills hard. At least I have already bought a few gifts. This sucks...

Christmas is on it's way, and I gotta jam if I am going to be ready. Still got some shopping to do. Maybe I'll get it done this weekend. Am not looking forward to it. What I am looking forward to is Winter Break for Brandon. 2 weeks of getting to sleep late....woo hoo! Although, the kids will be driving me nuts probably 3 days in. I am tired and need to catch up on some rest. Didn't do anything today except make goodie bags for Brandon to give to his classmates as a Christmas gift, 19 of them, and I need to pick up a few things to add to them. My bags don't have enough stuff in them. Another thing to add to my growing list of things to do this weekend. Gotta pass those bags out next Friday, the last day before break. Along with teacher gifts. Ugh, Christmas can put a lot of pressure on you. Pressure to make everything fun, to give the perfect gift. Sucks, especially if you bear the burden alone. Eric hasn't done a scrap of shopping. The one gift that was his idea, I went online, ordered it, made sure it was paid for, worried it would arrive on time, and wrapped it when it arrived. I've taken care of all the decorating, indoors and outdoors. And he sits back and is enjoying it all! Jeez...sounds like I have a touch of the scrooges. Maybe I am getting there.

I am so tired tonight. I worked outside all day. Pruning all my roses & a gigantic butterfly bush. Weeded the flowerbeds some, & put pine needles for mulch around the roses & irises. It was a really good day to be outside. Very mild & only slightly breezy. Nathan helped me, which was fun to see him trying to pick up the rose branches. He would get stuck by the thorns & say 'ouch', about 100 times! He's turning into quite the little helper. I am ready to go to bed. But there are a few things I need to do before I can.

Current mood: exhausted
Today I put up our Christmas tree. That sucker is an all day job...it's over 7 feet tall...and I'm 5'3!! My Mother came over tonight to help. Thank god. It made the job a lot easier and more fun. Nathan helped too. Brandon even put on a few ornaments, maybe 3, before stopping to watch TV. It is a very large tree, and it looks beautiful in here, festive, like Christmasville. I do enjoy decorating for the holidays. Tomorrow I think I am going to put some extra light strings in the kids rooms. I did it last year, and they liked it. I have a 6 foot tree I bought 2 years ago for $4 (brand new, after Xmas sale!). I am considering putting it on our back deck, but I don't know if I will feel like decorating a 3rd tree. I don't even know why I bought that tree, but at $4...it was too hard to pass up. I am so tired now. This was a busy weekend and I could use another day to rest. Christmas Break is coming soon. Got that to look forward to.

I love YOYO lipgloss & am trying to get a free sample by putting this on my blog. Hopefully I will get the free sample...this seems like an awful lot to do just to get something for free. But as a girl, I am willing to do this for lipgloss!

Nathan really has developed a Southern accent. A deep one. It's cute. He says stuff like 'Ahm tarrrred' ( I'm tired, lol). Hilarious. But than again, he is being raised in the south. He will stop, because Brandon had a strong accent when he was little...he'd say 'aigs' (eggs), 'dawg', 'aints' (ants), 'numbah' (number), but he grew out of it. I have embraced my Southern side. I am proud of it. I love being from South Carolina. It's a beautiful state. And if my kids grow up to sound like hicks...good! It could be worse. We could be from New Joisey. Just kidding! There's nothing wrong with being from New Jersey. Don't get mad!!! :)

Took the boys to the Christmas Parade tonight, and froze my buns off! Dang it was freakin' cold! And I even had on mittens, a scarf, and brought a blanket to cover up with! But it was Nathan's first parade, and he had a ball. He waved at every float that went by, clapped his hands at all the marching bands, and kept trying to go and join in several times. It was worth freezing to see him enjoy himself so much. Brandon kept wanting to go...because he was afraid he was gonna miss wrestling...but I told him WE were gonna have a parking lot brawl if he didn't hush, which he thought was funny. He wanted to brawl with me, but I told him he could never beat me. Boy loves him some wrestling. That's all he has on his Christmas List. Wrestling stuff. Geez.

Well, I took Nathan for his 1st dentist visit, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I mean, he didn't let them do anything, and he did holler when they looked in his mouth, but there was no kicking or fighting, so that's a good thing. He even told me he was going to spank me whenever I dragged him into the x-ray room, which was kind of funny to hear a little one threaten to spank the parent instead of the other way around. At least I found it amusing. Needless to say, he has an appt. with an oral surgeon on Dec. 18th, so they can sedate his little tail and do whatever they need to do. That's the only way that stubborn little fella is gonna let anyone do anything to him. He gets his strong will from his Daddy. He may look like me, but inside he is all 'Kiefer'....stubborn, headstrong, difficult. Outside he's adorable like his Mommy! That's right, I said it! ADORABLE! LOL! Anyone who knows us, or has spent any time with the family knows this to be the truth. Not that I'm adorable (which I am), but that Kiefer's are stubborn. That's right, I said it! STUBBORN!
