Thank you to everyone who made a suggestion for the name of our newest song. We are happy to announce that we've chosen the wonderful submission by Ben, "The Beauty of Falling Down". The song is currently in rotation on KROX so we ask that you please call or write in to request it. Thank you so much for your love and support.
Peace

KROX, 101.5 FM, is the alternative rock station in Austin and they have decided to add one of my new songs to their rotation. This is huge news because the song will get 20-30 spins per week....more if people call or email requests to the station. Here's our problem: the song is so new we haven't given it a name yet and we need to figure one out before it starts getting played on the radio. This is where you come in. We are having a contest to name our new song, which you will find in the jukebox with the working name, "On My Knees". Please submit your song titles in our comment section. If we choose your title, you'll receive an autographed copy of the new EP and a spot on the guest list for our EP release party at Stubb's on January 14th, 2006. For those of you outside Texas or unable to make it to the show, we'll put together a prize package that can be shipped to you. In addition to the free "stuff", you will have our eternal gratitude and the knowledge that you named a song being played on the radio. Pretty cool, eh? Peace, Casey and Alpha Rev

Current mood: accomplished
hey there...
Right now im sitting in my apartment freezing my ass off. it's cold for a texas boy. I flew in Monday with no sleep and blew like $200 before i even got to my new place...(extra bag, cab ride, a 12 dollar mini sandwich, etc). Got situated and ready to play my first show the next day...
Tue - I wake up, get some latte action in my veins and put flyers up everywhere i could think of. My first show was at Trash bar near where im staying in brooklyn and I was stoked!!! I could visualize a packed club, people dying to see the new CASEY MCPHERSON!!!!! woo hoo....there were 3 people at the show and two of them were on the list - i was trying to keep it together and not get all down about it.. it WAS my first show afterall, so whatever. Afterwards my friend took me to a "karaoke bar" .. she didn't tell me it was a GAY karaoke bar, not that i care.. I would have just liked to know. I had a few (hundred) drinks there and kept my back to the wall. This english dude stumbled over to me and asks me for a light and if im gay.. as soon as i cleared that up he confessed that he comes out to gay bars to hit on chicks.. nice. gotta love the class. We left around 4am and as we were walking home (my friend got so shitfaced that she took the long way i think..) this guy comes up to me and asks me if i wanted a bike for 20 bucks. I was like, are you kidding me? of course i want a bike for 20 bucks. so I wheeled my prized possession back to my place with high hopes of puttin' around the next day. That morning i got up to find this yellow piece of shit with two flat tires and rusted so bad that it wouldn't even pedal. I got a lemon.. that was probably stolen anyway.
Yesterday I sprayed it down with some locktite stuff and let it sit. It began to move in small increments.. today i took it to a bike shop and they said 30 bucks and two hours would do the trick - I couldn't believe it. I just picked it up and rode it around williamsburg. It took me awhile to stop running into people.. there's some kind of wierd disease my family has when we get on something with just two wheels it's very difficult to stop...
It's such a good feeling to bring something back to life. It's amazing what a little care and time can do to something that someone deems worthless. I've always felt that way about people.. all of us rejects and no goods.. I've always got a little bit of healing from someone who was willing to spend a little more time with me than the rest. Sometimes I try and do that too, gives me a pretty good feeling. That's my little Mr. Rodger's lesson God taught me this week.
Stay tuned for some photos soon.. hope all is well..
peace
case
