Holy Cowboys first appeared on 'The Inevitable' in 1999. This is an unreleased re-recorded version from 2002 not long after All India Radio became a band rather than previously a solo studio project.

This is the video edit of 'Lucky' from our latest album ' A Low High.' The video was made by Darcy Prendergast who worked on the animated film Mary & Max. We had to shorten the song slightly to lessen the load on animators. Even chopping out 30 seconds of music can save an extraordinary amount of time and money in a animated video.

Here's the first of our 'Expanded Edition' re-issues. This is a new digital version of the album and features
not one but nine bonus tracks! We also slightly tweaked the track order ..I think it flows better now. Hope you enjoy.
You can listen to it here

Another favourite album track, Open Sky Experiment appeared on our self titled album in 2003. This remixed version appeared on Permanent Evolutions
a few years later. I have to admit that before I wrote Open Sky
Experiment, I'd been listening to some of Daniel Lanois' more ambient
material as well as my all time favourite 'drone' band Flying Saucer Attack . It rubbed off.

You might have this one already, its from 'The Inevitable' and recorded
back in 1998. It's one of my favourites from that album, although I am
slightly embarrassed by its primitiveness - everything about it is
lo-fi: the equipment used, the song writing, the 12 bit recording.
Still, I like the slow minimalist feel and David Lynchian weirdness...

Home video footage of All India Radio at our very first live show
Aug 4 2001 at Alia in Melbourne. It was the album launch of our second
album '002.' I can't remember what this song was called...I think we
only ever played it this one time and it was never recorded or
released.

This is a demo version of Mexicola from the album Echo Other.
Mexicola is a great song to play live and is usually our big rock n
roll closing number. I've always liked this demo version so decided to
add it here. Some of the demo sounds even made it onto the final album
version. Useless trivia: Mexicola is known within the band as 'Bill Withers.' A working title that seems to have stuck!

This is an uncompleted version of a very new track 'Close.' I
couldn't decide whether it should be a new All India Radio song or if
I should use it for my project with Steve Kilbey (KK) instead. But why
not use it for both projects? One version instrumental and and another
with vocals (the version here is instrumental A.I.R. version). Both the
new A.I.R. and KK album will be released mid 2010. More information on the KK project here

Fragile is an unreleased track that seems to have slipped through the
cracks somewhere between the last two albums Fall & A Low High. It features some nice
droney sounds from Sydney electronic wunderkind Marcus Whale. Download it for free. Click on 'download' above and follow the prompts to choose your preferred download format. If you can't see the player above click here to download

A new mix of Permanent Revolutions from our 2001 album '002.' The original was recorded on a 12-bit mini disc recorder which made it tricky transferring it into my computer for remixing. It was remixed for an upcoming TV series so I needed to tighten it up, replace some dodgy guitar parts and give them a 'cleaner' version. But mainly I just can't help messing about with the songs!
