"Let The Feed remind you that rock & roll is about
breaking borders, not being confined by them. In
their quest to be completely guitar-free, the band
members treat their instruments like a six-string,
running organs and saxophones through stomp boxes to
create elastic, crunchy tones". – Riverfront Times,
St. Louis, MO

"The piano-sax-drums trio makes a case for the
keyboard's supremecy. By running his electric piano
through a barrage of effects, Feed frontman Dave
Grelle has erased the need for a guitar in
high-energy, soul-powered rock & roll. Grelle is an
engaging front man, and his co-conspirators Ben Reece
(saxophone and bass) and Kevin Bowers (drums)
contribute crack musicianship, harmony vocals, and no
small measure of style and verve to the band's live
performances.
– Riverfront Times, St. Louis, MO

"Its obvious this trio is soaked through with jazz and
blues. Conversely, it's The Feed's ability to
punk-out those soulful overtones that sets them in a
head of their own." - Austin Chronicle

"The Feed's clever songwriting and soulful overtones
can appeal to the masses, but their music extends far
beyond the mainstream sound forced upon us by major
labels and radio staions"
– St. Louis Sound Magazine

"St. Louis' inventive trio The Feed put on a terrific
performance in a small bar tucked away from the hustle
and bustle of the rest of the festival. The guitarless
rockerd sing along grooves, featuring nothing more
than a keyboard, drum set, bass and occasional
saxophone, sounded much fuller than you would ever
expect. Playing songs from their terrific self-titled
EP and a hand full of new tunes, the band managed to
turn the sleepy little bar into a rock and roll dance
hall. The Feed got my vote for the best band to kick
back a beer with while getting your groove on."
- Just Press Play, Tulsa, OK

"A room-shaking experience. Charged with adrenaline,
the band's live show crackles with electricity. Watch
the young, inventive trio jump boundaries and
conventions". - Playback Magazine

"The Feed's clever songwriting and soulful overtones
can appeal to the masses, but their music extends far
beyond the mainstream sound forced upon us by major
labels and radio staions"
– St. Louis Sound Magazine

"An animalist drum- electric piano-and-saxophone
assault."
This power trio makes listeners forget the existence
of guitar for a night with unmatchable energy and a
rousing live show ".
– City Beat, Cincinnati

Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the 'Lou,
All the drinkers were looking for something to do.
The Duck Room was ready, speakers ready to blare
In hopes that The Feed soon would rock there.

The Monads played fast with eyes bloodshot and red,
While visions of bourbon shots danced in their heads.
Ocean Rivals were playing to fans who were perky
I knew they had yet to get too full of turkey.

The drinks on the bar were lit from above
By a blue-neon Pabst sign, the beer that I love.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a waitress - with tattoos - and Jagermeisteer.

And the able bartender was lively and quick,
I tipped well so I wouldn't look like a dick.
More rapid than FEMA his orders they came,
And he hollered, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Miller! now, Guinness! now, Sam Adams Light!
On, vodka! On, whiskey! on, red wine and white!
To the top of the lips! To the top of the gumsl!
Now drink it up! Drink it! Stomach here it comes!

And then in the men's room there arose quite a clatter
Some douchebag was puking - and boy did it splatter.
Away to the closet, I took the mop off the shelf,
Then gave it to douchie and said "Clean it yourself."

You can sleep in tomorrow, so to the Duck Room with speed,
to see The Monads, Ocean Rivals, and also The Feed.
The doors are at eight, with a ten dollar cover
So 'Good Thanksgiving Eve to all, and to all a short hangover!'

What a night.
As soon as The Feed was asked to perform at this year's Midwest Mayhem fundraiser, it was a no-brainer. Let's see, St. Louis' favorite Indie radio station (KDHX of course), teamed up with some of the city's finest bands, artists, and fun-lovers taboot...mixed in with a little burlesque and break-dancing... all to the eclectic backdrop of The City Museum? We were down from start.

Thanks to all that came out and supported. Check out Christian Schaeffer (of the RFT)'s blog HERE

What a night...
After loading in and catching up with our friends, Ludo and The Pageant staff, we did a quick little line-check, watched Marshall launch his new back-drop masterpiece into flight, and headed off for a bite. Pre-show, 75 degrees on a Sunday afternoon in the U.City Loop doesn't get much better... Except with a little Thai Pizza Co. Got back to the venue in time for Last Fast Action's set and got ready to hit the stage. The Pageant was packed solid. We ripped through our set to an awesome crowd, clad in orange, and got ready for Ludo's performance. Ludo's set was highly entertaining, as always, and had crowd, singing along. It was our first time hearing most of the new songs. Well done. Good to see old friends mixed with confetti explosions. Now its off to Austin, TX for SXSW and more sunny sky.

Greetings and Happy Holidays all Feeders. 2007 was a very eventful year. We would like to thank everyone for coming out to all of the shows. On tour, we made some great friends/fans west to Manhattan, KS; south to Fayetteville, AR and Tulsa, OK; east to Cincinatti, OH and as far north as Chicago. in 2008, we plan on revisiting these fine regions and expanding eastward in support of the new album.
The new album......Dave and I have been hard at work writing some new, tasty grooves for you and will enter the studio in January to finish up our work with Jason McEntire at Sawhorse Studios. Look for a spring release!!!
For those of you who were at the taping of "The Set" for Charter Communications back in July, in just a few weeks The Feed will make it's TV debut as the show airs in mid January.
In other news, our fabulous drummer Kevin Bowers finished up another fine album of his original songs and currently has it posted on his website (Kevin Bowers & The Reels on MySpace). Some outstanding songwriting which Dave and I were pumped to be a part of.
In other, other news..........I became the proud papa of a strapping young lad, Samuel Oakley. Watch out for his debut album release, "Interpretations of Thelonious Monk"... it'll blow your mind.
That's pretty much a wrap on '07....except for one BIG thing.....THIS SATURDAY, @OLD ROCK HOUSE IN SOULARD....THE FEED'S BIG CHRISTMAS SHOW. Caleb Travers opens the night, our good friends from New York, The Jones Street Boys (featuring St. Louis' own mandolin/banjo/guitar extraordinare Danny Erker) will follow, yours truely, and Go Van Gogh will close the evening. You won't want to miss the end of the evening, as all band members will join in some across the spectrum yuletidiness.
Thanks again for a memorable year. We're very grateful for your support. Enjoy the holiday time and come out to a show!!!
-Ben, Dave, & Kevin
