Hello,

Here are my 100 favorite movies & 9 favorite directors

I recommend you watch them all at least once!

First off I do not believe there is a "best" movie.

Coming up with a hundred movies I adore was very easy, trying to rank them I found was impossible

so they are listed alphabetical …

The film list I feel good about

Picking actors/directors is a little harder. I like all the people I listed

But the lists I'm sure would completely different if I made them tomorrow

I mean… some of the people I can't even think of a movie their in that I even really like

and I realized as I got to the directors I don't even have a Scorsese movie on my list!

I love so many of his films, yet I couldn't think of any I would consider putting on my top 100

His movies to me are like going to weddings and funerals they are memorable but I don't always want to revisit them over and over

I feel the same way about most of Kubrick's movies but with him there are a couple exceptions

And so…

JEFFREY BÜTZER
She Traded Her Leg

This is Georgia-based Jeffrey Bützer's debut release on Lona Records.Behind Bützer's command of an impressive array of instruments (piano, glockenspiel, guitar, drums, xylophone, bass, banjo, autoharp, ocarina, melodica, accordion, harmonica... and the list goes on) lies an evengreater penchant for experimentation and a deep appreciation for a widerange of musical styles. Seeming at first like a jolly dose of gypsy or circusmusic, She Traded Her Leg quickly strikes a chord with its particular brandof percussive lo-fi minimalism tinged with cinematic overtones. And whilesuch "baroque" leanings may seem, to the uninitiated, as the unfocusedwanderings of a musician with his finger in too many pies, it is only neces-sary to hear the play of melodic lines in tracks like "Wooden Giraffe" and"Broken Blunderbuss" to appreciate the uniqueness of Bützer's musicalvoice. On the second half of the album (named "One Hundred and SixtyThree Black Bubbles"), things gradually start to take a more introspectiveturn, with the insertion of gamelan-inspired rhythmic elements, violin andautoharp noises; culminating in the longest track of the album "Her Body isa Swamp." From the circus to the heart of darkness — Bützer's genre-defy-ing album is hard to beat for its playfulness and sophistication...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Influences: Jeffrey's love of European cinema led him to the composers: Michael Nyman, Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone. Other artists that have influenced his work include: Tom Waits, Harry Partch, Captain Beefheart, ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Nick Cave, Kurt Weill, John Zorn, Moondog and Edith Piaf. Gypsy, musette, jazz and surf music have also contributed to his unique sound.
