ayo!

lots has happened since my last rather pessimistic writings...

my love affair with Euro rave culture, squat raves etc. is over and the styles currently pumping my nads are techno, house, booty bass/ ghettotech and bassline.

i'm not really capable of producing anything other than my style, so my new stuff takes inspiration from these styles, but is still basically just me but slower!!

I should be having a few tracks floating around on Digital Distortions in the future and a possible EP.

Yo..........

In case you were wondering why there's been no new music for a while it's because I'm taking an indefinite and possibly permanent hiatus from making, promoting and releasing Jungletek music. I'm just not feeling it right now. The Bristol rave scene is dead and the Euro scene looks like a dead end that's inevitably going to head the same way due to external pressure from authorities, politics and -yes, I'm going to say it- ketamine.

Who wants to put in all their time, money & effort & jeopardise their freedom and prospects  to entertain a bunch of K'ed up morons? Seems like they don't even know what's going on as they are so ketamised and are just taking advantage of a free environment to get off their faces, smash things up and take the piss.

No one seems to buy vinyl any more and if they do it's generally the mindless pumping tribe bullshit that a Luddite has knocked out on a Groovebox rather than something with any degree of thought in it. Decent labels struggle to sell 500 copies but the latest cheesey rave fodder will shift many times that no problem. It's a waste of my time running the label when I look at how much I put in relative to what I get back and now that I've had a think about where things are going I can't see the point in continuing any longer.
