yo!  so...  representing nyc is now about to go into full swing throwin backs into pushin' nine 11!  tim dewit (gang gang dance), matt mehlan (skeletons), and nine 11 have been in the studio bangin' out the trax that'll make it onto nine 11's upcoming release with us: representing nyc presents nine 11 thesaurus - ground zero generals.  this stuff is bangin', once we officially announce the record singles will be available on the myspace + look for us in the voice, big feature coming from andy beta + we'll be doing a remix competition on the wfmu site + a lot more...

representing nyc is no longer working with true panther sounds, we are now umbrella'd by the legendary social registry and it's a serious honor, we're all psyched, and we're gonna do em right!  this new record will kill!

the representing nyc showcase will be held at the beacon center on march 26th 2010, and at venue tbd in manhattan on march 27th 2010... these performances will be right on the heels of nine 11's trip to texas to perform at sxsw and they'll be killing it, but there'll be many opportunities to hear them between now and then so keep your eyes and ears peeled for nine 11, as they say "local, worldwide, worldwide, it's whatever"...

the fader's hanly banks has created a truly deep mini-documentary on the FLY GIRLZ, and RNYC!  it's the first thing you see when you go to their site right now!  www.thefader.com  check it!

the FLY GIRLZ should be getting some more love in film, images, and text in the upcoming months so keep it peeled for that, but we're also sparking off the push for our newest artists NINE 11 THESAURUS...  they've been working on their first record, Ground Zero Generals, all year with us over here at RNYC, and the s**t is bangin...  with beats by tim dewit (GanGangDance) and matt mehlan (SkeletonsandtheKingsofAllCities) its going to jam.  NINE 11 THESAURUS will perform with FLY GIRLZ at all our june events.  there are 13 of them and the vibe is on...  please check it, we will be dropping you tube clips and mp3s over the summer and seriously getting into gear in the fall with tons of performances and a tentative tour!

peace from RNYC and stay tuned...

"If you're part of the legions screaming for a collaboration between Williamsburg noise-rockers and Brownsville kiddie rappers, you will be very, very happy to learn about the Representing NYC series. Sam Hillmer of Zs is curating a series of records that pair very young rappers from Brooklyn neighborhoods with the indie types moving to these areas, thus forever making gentrification OK. The first release in the series is Da Bratz From Da Ville, a full-length collaboration between the Fly Girlz, a crew of Brownsville girls between the ages of 12 and 14, and producer Zebrablood, otherwise known as Excepter's Nathan Corbin. It will be released by Sockets/True Panther Sounds in March. The series launch party goes down on March 13 at New York's New Museum."

by the way...  the new museum thing will be going off!  featuring mr. lif, fabel from the rock steady crew, zebrablood and porkchop from excepter as well as a whole ton of rnyc young mcs and dancers...
