Hey everybody!
Even though it looks like I completely forgot about the idea we've been hard at work designing the park and ... well stuff like that. I haven't gone a day without thinking/dreaming about this. (I'm a dork).

Its all designed! and we have a cost estimate!!  and ... its more than we have.
Which is why we're going to need everyone's help. We need sponsors for these ramps:

[2] 5' quarter pipes - $250 each
[1] 4' quarter pipe - $250
[2] 3' quarter pipes - $200 each
[1] 4' bank ramp - $250
[1] 3' spine ramp - $250
[1] Fun box - $300
[1] Stair box - $300

We're providing all the smaller stuff like:
[2] Launch ramps
[2] 3' or 2' wedges
[1] Grind box
[a few] grind rails

The grand total for this park is $2,250    Which is do-able, so lets do it.

See if you know of anyone that wants to sponsor a ramp, it would help us a TON if you did. Talk to your boss, your school, your church or anyone.
There are perks to sponsorship as well- if they're interested just have them call me. 812.760.9912

Oh yeah, we have a date for our next skate comp/concert! April 19th. Make sure to plan around it.
There will be a $5 cover charge, I'm booking bands now so news still to come on that.

Just a heads up- we're going to be planning fund raisers as well so news to come on that also.

See you all later!

To all the TRUE friends of Vapor Legacy
 Hey all,
This is Travis. Hows it going? I'm just fine, thanks for asking.

Alright, I wanted a music profile for Vapor Legacy so thats what I did. Which is good, the music profile's options work out really well for us. The downside is that means we sorta loose all our friends.
Its sad that we live in a world where friends come and go that easily but the fact of the matter is that we do.

So all you true Vapor Legacy friends should go to www.myspace.com/vaporlegacypromotions
and add us to your friends list there. Who knows, there could be ice cream involved. But somehow I doubt it.

We're going to keep doing the exact same thing we've been doing only just on that profile. We'll keep this one active for a while till everyone gets switched over.
Please go to that profile and subscribe to our blog. That would be pretty awesome, we have quite a few subscribers on this one now and none over there.

You are all such great people, its conforting to know we have true friends like you!

Hey guys!
I just wanted to post a special blog to say thank you to all of you that have helped Vapor Legacy in the past.
Whether you passed out a flier, brought a friend, hung a poster, ran sound, helped at the stage, ran skateboard competitions, referred bands, cooked, help clean up, housed bands, volunteered, or anything...

you all are awesome. I can't remember everybody that has helped because SO many people have been supporting this its amazing. I want you to know your work is very appreciated and that there wouldn't be any "Vapor Legacy" concerts without you.
So thank you and God bless.

One thing that I think is pretty awesome is how many of you who are agnostic, atheist, anarchist and even satanists have been helping me with this.
Its a pretty well known fact that I'm a Christian and that influences all of the shows I put on and even though we disagree on many points when it comes to God we're still friends and support each other.
You've all been a huge blessing in my life.

Another thing I think is awesome is the Christians that have supported me in this. Its not as common as you might think, the type of music and audiences I typically promote or promote the show to aren't often what the "church" wants to accept.
Those of you Christians and even a handful of church groups that have my back on this are breaking down walls many hypocrites have built before us and are actually showing Christ a lot more than you might think.
Thank you!

oh, and coffee. I would like to thank coffee. Coffee is amazing.

Well hey, if any of you have questions about what we do just send me a message. Especially if you're not quite sure about the whole Christianity side of this, I want you to know I'm just trying to share whats got me through life. I hold it to be truth but I'm not trying to change you (I'll always be your friend no matter what) but its there if you want it or if you have questions. If not, thats cool too.

Thanks again!
-Travis

Special Thanks for July 21st

Oh yeah, the last show we did (yesterday. July 21st 2007) was one of the smoothest we've ever run.
That was not because of me... I was a disorganized wreck going into it and everybody pitched in and made it awesome.
With the music my friends kept the stage going on perfect schedule and made it sound awesome.
In the skating everyone pulled together and made that happen as well with the judges and all.

This is a partial (not parcial, for all of you that caught the spelling error on my poster... *smacks forehead*) list of people who made this possible. The full list would be endless.

Stage and music people:
The bands - all of them.
Aaron - Stage Manager
Shawn - Asst. stage manager
Andrew - Asst. stage manager
Billy - Awesome sound guy, everyone said so.

Food people
Gwen - the main cook and my sister.
Gaya - for helping Gwen
Angie - for helping Gwen
Kelsey - for helping Gwen
Isabella - for helping Gwen
lots of other people - for helping Gwen

Skateboarding
Jetti - Skate and waiver sign ups and my mom
Justin - pretty much running the competition
Joe - helping Justin
Daniel - helping Justin
Mac - helping Justin
Wes - helping Justin, sucks about your ankle.

All ramps were provided by my buddy George McCool (old school skater with flames on his truck) and Limited Sk8 design (Skatepark steve, Justin Bell, Joe Lester, Daniel Foster & Steve Macantire)

And everyone who worked the gate at one time or another. You did an awesome job, thanks!

Fouist (yes, thats "First" in a French accent) of all you should all note that this is event is... let me look, oh yes, this Saturday.
Saturday is ... Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 5! 5 days away!

Soon. Yes. So all of you (yes you) must call up all your friends and invite them to come with you once you're done reading this bulletin. If you're really cool you'll even invite people you don't know. Like strangers, wrong numbers, customers, etc.

But this blog was entitled "Final details" so I best be giving them too you.

Here is the final event schedule for July 21st:

Directions to Kramer's Lake

Address: 11420 Middle Mt. Vernon Rd. Evansville, IN. 47712

Head West on Lloyed Exp. as if going to USI. When you get near the USI exit take a RIGHT on St. Philips rd. (it will be at a stoplight with a Busler's across the road)
Follow signs from there.

(as a general rule... pretty much everyone over 25 years old who lived in Evansville during high school knows how to get there.)

Other important stuff

Bring everybody you know with you

Other other important stuff

Cost: $10 at the gate (unless I have already talked to you about volunteering or you have a coupon or something.)

Volunteers: Some are still needed. Get at me.

Skaters: If you're under 18 years old and you won't have a parent with you you should Print out this waiver and have a parent sign it at home.
Another question we've been getting is if you can enter into the advance comp and the high stakes round. Yes, you can.

Skatepark: Many people have been asking what kind of skatepark we're going to have. Here is the downlow on that subject-
Kramer's is planning on building another skatepark sometime but they haven't yet so the park we're going to use will be temporary.

here is a list of what it will consist of:
[1] 2 1/2' quarter pipe
[1] 3' quarter pipe
[1] 2' - 3' step quarter pipe
[3] launch ramps
[4] various grind rails
[1] Fun box
and more

As you can see this is no x-games set up and Lamasco actually has larger stuff. This event is more about giving skaters an excuse to get together, hang out, skate a little bit, have some friendly competitions, listen to some good music, etc. Just so you have the right idea about it.
Its going to be a fun time.

Concessions

Will be available. I'm not positive what they'll have because I'm not in charge of it but I'm guessing they'll have something along the lines of:
Water, cokes, chips, burgers, hotdogs, nachos I hope and different stuff like that.
As at all our comps there will be a cooler or free water so our skaters don't die. Cause that generally sucks when that sort of thing happens.

My skate key

Or skate tool as many call it was stolen at the last competition we did at Walther's golf n' Fun last may. I left it by the water cooler ... when I asked where it was someone there told me a kid stuck it in his pocket when he got a drink.

... you can bring it back now. Thanks : ) Just leave it by the water cooler with a note saying "Travis, thanks for letting me borrow your key"

Alright! So thats pretty much everything you guys need to know I think so I'll see you all then.
Take care and be blessed.

Hi, how are you? I'm just fine. I'm actually doing quite well. I'm pumped, excited and stoked. It would be safe to say my boat is floating quite well but that statement just sounds really odd, doesn't it?
I mean we use drop the saying "whatever floats your boat" everywhere we go nowadays and nobody thinks anything of it. But have you ever stood in a crowd and announced to everyone "Hey! My boat is FLOATING!" ... I didn't think so. But you should try it and tell me what your general response is.

But anyway, this should float your boat:

FBS and Revolution Radio are the two mystery bands on July 21st!!!
(So I guess its not much of a mystery anymore, huh?)

If you even thought about scrolling your mouse to the upper right hand side of the screen and clicking that freaking "X" or about going to the left and clicking "Back" or even clicking "home" on your myspace navigation bar I want you to slap yourself and read the rest of this blog homie.

FBS is the best Street Punk band I listen to, but in all fairness my punk music collection is quite small. But they're awesome people and put on an unforgettable show.
When I talked to them at the Cornerstone music festival a couple weeks ago they talked very highly of their experience in Evansville (and their late night in Denny's) and couldn't wait to come back.
Which is great because I couldn't wait for them to come back either.

Long story short FBS is on a tour with Revolution Radio (The last band I saw while at cornerstone and they blew me away.) and are able to swing by Evansville to play July 21st.

ATTN ALL SKATEBOARDERS
Here is a link to where you can download and print out a waiver to skate You do not have to print this at home as it will be available at the competition but if you're under 18 and you're not sure if your parents can come and sign for you or not it would be a good idea to take care of this in advance and bring it with you.

Here is the file: Click here to download the skate Waiver

hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey
Everyone else.

If you would like to come help please let me know, we need about 10 more volunteers. Mostly we need people to cover shifts at running the gate, we're having two people at a time take 2 hour shifts for that. You will be comped into the event so you won't have to pay admission. So you'll get to see everything else when you're not working.

Since we're having two people work at a time, you might want to bring a friend with you so you don't get bored or stuck with someone you don't know.

I'm going to announce the day's schedule within the next couple of days, so be on the look out for that.

Take care everybody!

Hey everyone,
Got a pretty big announcement- Vapor Legacy is trying their hand at a partial day Skateboard and music festival.
For those of you who have come out to Walther's Golf n' Fun the past couple years for our annual skate and music event there should have a pretty basic idea of what this will be like.
Only we're doing 4 competitions instead of 3 and 10 bands (its bigger) and it'll be a little more organized and have a higher budget (we're charging admission).

The bands playing are going to be:
Nevertheless
Eleventyseven
Sacred Sorrow
Endless Battle
Fighting Through
Third Man down
Faith Never Dies
and 3 more TBA.

Its going to be at Kramer's lake.

We're getting fliers and posters printed very very soon so let me know if you want some!

Here is the poster::

Another change we're making is with sponsorships. This particular event won't be directly affiliated with Get Wet surf and skate like the previous times. We're welcoming companies to apply to promote themselves and/or their product at this event (however- we're keeping everything in the audiences best interest. So we'll use our judgment if your product/company benefits Skaters or music lover

We're extremely grateful to Get Wet for their help the past two years and its no secret that the first two competitions we did would not have been possible without them.

The reason we're parting from Get Wet is because we want to focus more on community rather than one specific company and promote all skateboard companies in the area and be able to invite them to be a part of our event.

If you or anyone you know is involved in a music or skateboard related company that would like to be involved please get in touch! But please know ahead of time- this is an invitation that is open to everyone, even your competitors.

New flier will up soon with a listing of all the bands playing Friday June 15th at the Vanderburgh County 4H center in Evansville, IN.

Here is the line up:
Dizmas
Flatfoot 56

No more bands will be added. Thank you EVERYONE who sent in suggestions. I think you all will love FBS. I'm sorry I had to turn down so many bands you suggested to play this show- There was only one opening. But the feedback means a lot to me, it shows you actually care about that concert and... yeah thats a pretty good thing

Only 2 weeks left!!!!!!!
Please spread the word to everyone you know, please contact me if you'd like to get some fliers to pass around. Take care everyone.
