The Clay Center Box Office team seeks outgoing, sales-oriented persons for full & part time customer service representative positions. Duties include greeting guests, providing information and accurately processing ticket transactions. Requires excellent verbal/written communication. Applicants must work effectively in a multi-task environment and be detail oriented. Strong computer skills are necessary. Clay Center announce 2009-2010 performance season

 

(Charleston, W.Va.) 5/19/09 – The Clay Center announces its 2009-2010 performance season featuring a spectacular line-up of award-winning music acts, hilarious comedy, family theater and gravity-defying dance.

 

The upcoming Clay Center Presents season includes seven fantastic performances:

 

   Peter Pan, co-presented with the Charleston Light Opera Guild, Friday, Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m. (additional performance dates available) – Bring the whole family to this enchanting fairy tale adventure about the boy who never grew up.

   Drive-By Truckers, Sunday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. – Rolling Stone calls them “the boldest, baddest Southern band in the land.” This alternative country rock group is known for its muscled three-guitar attack.

   Dr. John, Sunday, Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m. – With his unique blend of blues, funk and psychedelic rock, Dr. John continues to dazzle audiences everywhere. His latest album, City That Care Forgot, won the 2009 Grammy for “Best Contemporary Blues.”

   Habib Koité & Bamada, Sunday, March 7, 7 p.m. – Audiences will be mesmerized by this Malian guitar master’s beautiful blend of traditional African music and western rock and folk sounds.

   Streb: Raw, Friday, March 12, 8 p.m. – Combining extreme sports with poetry in dance, Streb delivers a rousing experience with show-stopping pieces that keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

   Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Friday, March 26, 8 p.m. – This blues-rock guitarist has garnered multiple Grammy nominations, a series of industry awards and chart-topping albums like Ledbetter Heights and 10 Days Out.

   Cherryholmes and Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys, Sunday, April 25, 7 p.m. – Cherryholmes bluegrass sound is made up of hard-driving instrumental virtuosity and explosive vocal harmonies. Ralph Stanley is a legendary bluegrass artist known for his singing and banjo playing. He won a 2002 Grammy for his work featured in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou.

 

Special add-on events include:

 

   Foreigner, Friday, Sept. 25, 8 p.m. – With songs like “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Feels Like the First Time,” Foreigner’s classic rock continues to captivate generation after generation.

   Tracy Morgan, Saturday, Oct. 3, 8 p.m. – This comedian showcases his talents regularly on NBC’s Emmy-winning 30 Rock playing his alter ego, the wild and unpredictable Tracy Jordan.

   Wayne Newton, Sunday, Feb. 14, 8 p.m. – In his fifth decade as a performer, Wayne Newton is as popular as ever, charming audiences with favorites like “Danke Schoen” and “Red Roses for a Blue Lady.”

 

 

 

Don’t miss this special summer performance:

 

   John Legend with very special guest India.Arie, Wednesday, July 29, 7:30 p.m. – Critics call him one of the most compelling and important singer-songwriters of this generation, an elegant ambassador of soul. John Legend has sold more than 5 million albums, garnered multiple hit songs and won six Grammy Awards. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 1.

 

Patrons can get the best seats now with a full season or Pick4 tickets. Only patrons with season and Pick4 tickets have an exclusive opportunity to buy tickets for special events Foreigner, Tracy Morgan and Wayne Newton and the summer performance of John Legend.

 

Patrons become season ticket holders when they purchase tickets to all seven regular season performances. This option provides the best value and saves ticket holders 20 percent off of single ticket prices, and they receive first choice of seating. Pick4 patrons receive 10 percent off of single ticket prices when they purchase a minimum of four regular season performances.

 

One of the benefits of being a season or Pick4 ticket holder is the opportunity to add on Foreigner, Tracy Morgan and Wayne Newton and John Legend tickets in advance. Currently, tickets to these special events are limited to those purchasing season and Pick4 packages.

Ticket Information:

Single tickets for John Legend and season packages will be available to the general public on Monday, June 1.

 

Single tickets for all other performances will go on sale Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m.
