So we are super excited around here! In addition to getting our "love" issue (i.e. February) we are launching profile pages.  It isn't as fancy as MySpace but will let people learn more about the artists and authors and provide links to their works.  It is just one more way we are trying to give you teens more... More Voice, More Say, More a chance to express the Real YOU!

So, become part of it.  Post your work.  Have a say.  Share with your friends.

If you have already posted your work to Teen Ink but haven’t been to the website in the last week you should visit and create a profile for yourself!!!  You can do this by submitting work or commenting on others work.

Just so you know we are still in the process of working the kinks out so if you see a way to improve the features let us know! If you haven't figured it out already we totally care what you think!  Or if there is something you would love to see Teen Ink do keep us in the loop.

So things are pretty exciting around here these days... I have to admit it is sometimes hard to keep up with all the new ideas and enthusiasm. We are prepping for the holidays and all the good stuff that it brings AND we are trying to crank out the next month's magazine.

In addition to a hundred other things that need to get done I am looking forward to adding new items to our Teen Ink store that are totally inspired by the art our super talented readers/artists have submitted. I have to say it is a crazy perk to get to see the artwork submitted to Teen Ink. I hope to also load a few of my favs into one of the photo albums I have here on MySpace. I hope you check them out and see what Teen Ink readers are capable of... Or, even better, if you are artist get us your work so we can help you share it with the world!!! :-)

Planning to see the new Twilight movie? We're giving away a Twilight companion guide to the best film review!

At Teen Ink Magazine, we've received tons of great, well written reviews of the "Twilight" series--both lauding and bashing the uber-popular books.

We're looking for someone to write an entertaining review of the new movie, too!

One winner will receive a Twilight companion book (or another book if your review is negative and you hate Twilight ;) ) and a year's subscription to Teen Ink Magazine. Your winning review will also be seriously considered for publication in the January issue of Teen Ink Magazine!

DEADLINE: December 1st.

You have 2 ways to get your review to us.
1. Go to http://www.teenink.com/Contests/
2. E-mail them to betsy@teenink.com

Remember we must receive them by December 1st!

You know what it's like...
New school. New problems.
Trying to stand out. Hoping you fit in.
Winning the big game. Losing your best friend.
Catching his eye. Holding her hand.
Being cool. Being unafraid. Being alone.

Being 13.

A grown-up story about growing up, featuring the only all-teenage cast ever to hit Broadway!

When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done.

The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life and his only friend, Patrice, won't talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail and someone is spreading the nastiest rumors.

With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, "13" is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.

Choose your favorite fictional character, whether it's from a movie or a book or a video game, and write that character's obituary.

Obituaries are different from eulogies. A eugoogalee, if you'll remember from ZOOLANDER, is a speech commemorating and honoring the dead, and is usually said at a funeral. But an obituary is a short --usually very short, a few inches of column space in a newspaper-- story about a person's life.

Your task is to boil down a character you love and know everything about into just a few inches of column space.

Good luck!

As always, you can post them as a topic in the group or send them in a private message to me for feedback. Or, hey, just keep it to yourself. That's cool too. Have fun!
