What it is, folks.  Things got a little weird yesterday, and we’re currently having to cancel a few tour dates and scramble for funds.  Share this story with whomever you think might be interested, and help us out if you can.  Your time, efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated.  We love you guys.

Bent Left

"Bent Left was founded in 2003 with the intention of promoting political, social, and environmental action and awareness on an individual level in hopes of achieving a global impact.  Since then, the band has been touring during any window of opportunity that’s opened between their hectic school and work schedules, and it’s taken them through almost every state in the continental U.S. and half way around the world to Japan.  Every cent the band has every made has been poured right back into their efforts to promote positive change through punk rock and roll.  The members of Bent Left completed their degree programs in 2007 and have been on what has been deemed the "Stay Vocal or Shut Up!  The Proverbial Knowledge vs. Your Mouth Tour" since January 3rd, 2008.  The first two months of this tour were spent playing shows throughout the entire eastern half of the U.S., and the band returned to their home state of Missouri on March 1st to work with Golden Fuel Systems in the conversion of their van’s fuel system to run on recycled waste vegetable oil.  The maintenance issues in the band’s 1983 Ford Econoline Diesel had been minimal up until that point, but things began to change when their rear axle snapped in half on their way to get their new fuel system installed.  Fortunately, the weight of the equipment in the van was enough to keep the machine from careening off of the side of the interstate, but the fuel system conversion had to be postponed for another month in order to replace the entire rear end of their van.  The generosity of many friends kept the band from having to cancel any show dates, but during the weeks between the rear end replacement and the rescheduled fuel system conversion, maintenance issues only got worse.  Two alternators, two voltage regulators, one headlight switch, one bright switch, one blown tire, three fluid leaks, and over $2600.00 of imaginary money later, the van was finally ready to be converted.  Golden Fuel Systems was kind enough to cut a few hundred dollars off of the top of the fuel system’s price tag, and the band hoped that the $3300.00 expense could be made up for with the money saved by not having to buy nearly as much fuel.  One hundred miles out of Golden Fuel System’s garage, their van’s transmission began to fail, and it’s replacement has been estimated at $1700.00.  The band has already incurred almost $6000.00 in debt in mechanical expenses alone this past month, and there are no longer funds available to keep their tour going.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and donations can be made at www.myspace.com/bentleft or at www.recycledrockstar.chipin.com."

All right, Nancies and Gentlemen, here's the skinny. Tour is far from over, but due to some road wear and failures in the cold cruel world of computer science and technology, we've had some networking issues with continuing our booking into May, June, July, and August of 2008. We need as much help as we can get, and there's no better source in the world than you fine folks right here on the interwebs. Our tentative routing is as follows. If any of you would be kind enough to offer any assistance or contact information pertinent to these areas and dates, your time and efforts would be greatly appreciated. We will play anywhere with anyone, acoustic or electric, in venues, basements, back yards, living rooms, or parking lots, so no info or offer is unreasonable. We just want to come pay you a visit and ruin your life for a day. In return, our guitarist Juffrey is happy to offer a multitude of sexual* and/or non-sexual favors.
