I'm a Mazda Miata! You like to soak up the sun, but your tastes are down to earth. Everyone thinks you're cute. Life is a winding road, and you like to take the curves in stride. Let other people compete in the rat race - you're just here to enjoy the ride. Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

Two For Tuesday
1. What two gifts would you like for yourself?
I would love to have a Claddagh family ring. What else? Peace of mind, I guess.
2. What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
My hobbies are reading, writing and swimming. Reading is relaxing as well as entertaining. I love a well developed plot and rich characters. Swimming is also very relaxing. There is something soothing about being in the water...and it sure is a painless form of exercise. As for writing...that's hard to explain. I just have to write. I can't not write.
3. What two things remain constant in your life?
Love and disaster
4. If you were going to be stranded on a desert island, what two items would you want in your pockets?
A box of kitchen matches (to make fire) and a knife.
5. What two books have changed your life?
One of them is To Kill A Mockingbird. When I read it, I was shocked at how people of color were treated. I'd had no idea--this was not something taught in American history in the late 1960s. After Dr. King died, I was aware of anger in the black community but I really didn't "get" it...not until I read that book. As for how it changed my life...from that point, I wanted to see people just as people, not as races and religions and sexual orientations. The other book that changed me was A Tree Grows In Brooklyn and that was because I identified so strongly with the young Francie. She had to be a little adult before she was done with childhood. She had an alcoholic father and a cold mother to deal with. I think it helped me realize that there are other people out there who suffer...but they still succeed.

Your Values Profile
|

Loyalty:
You value loyalty a fair amount.
You're loyal to your friends... to a point.
But if they cross you, you will reconsider your loyalties.
Staying true to others is important to you, but you also stay true to yourself.
Honesty:
You value honesty a fair amount.
You're honest when you can be, but you aren't a stickler for it.
If a little white lie will make a situation more comfortable, you'll go for it.
In the end, you mostly care about "situational integrity."
Generosity:
You value generosity highly.
So much so that you often put your own needs last.
There's nothing wrong with having a caring heart...
But you may want to rethink your "open wallet" policy.
Humility:
You value humility a fair amount.
You tend to be an easy going, humble person.
But occasionally your ego takes over.
You have a slight competitive streak - and the need to be the best.
Tolerance:
You value tolerance highly.
Not only do you enjoy the company of those very different from you...
You do all that you can to seek it out interesting and unique friends.
You think there are many truths in life, and you're open to many of them.

Comments Made In The Year 1957
==============================
I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $20.
Have you seen the new cars coming out next year?
It won't be long before $2000 will only buy a used one.
If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit.
A quarter a pack is ridiculous.
Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just to mail a letter?
If they raise the minimum wage to $1, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.
When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 29 cents a gallon.
Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.
Kids today are impossible. Those duck tail hair cuts make it impossible to stay groomed. Next thing you know, boys will be wearing their hair as long as the girls.
I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more. Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying, "damn" in "Gone With The Wind," it seems every new movie has either hell or damn in it.
I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas.
Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $75,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the president.
I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They are even making electric typewriters now.
It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet.
It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.
Marriage doesn't mean a thing any more; those Hollywood stars seem to be getting divorced at the drop of a hat.
I'm just afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business.
Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to Parliament.
The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.
There is no sense going to Lincoln or Omaha anymore for a weekend. It costs nearly $15 a night to stay in a hotel.
No one can afford to be sick any more; $35 a day in the hospital is too rich for my blood.
If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a hair cut, forget it.
Know friends who would get a kick out of these? Pass it on!

| You Are a Blue Flower | A blue flower tends to represent peace, openness, and balance.
At times, you are very delicate like a cornflower.
And at other times, you are wise like an iris.
And more than you wish, you're a little cold, like a blue hydrangea.
