My name is Michele and I manage Hestands Floral and Gifts. My parents purchased the business in November of 2007. We have been working really hard to recreate the business, it remains and always will be a great flower shop! We also want to expand our greenhouse and grow vegetables all year round (in process of doing just that this summer) we have a decent selection of local music, but there are so many talented individuals in Portales that I feel we are barely skimming the surface!
We are hoping to have a line of gift items that are all made in the USA, we have some and are working on more. Even better would be to sell gift items made right here in Portales NM!!!  I have found what I am meant to do in life. A florist by nature! I love what I do and am actively involved in our community. I feel community involvement is important. Not only does it let me connect with the community, it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I know I have made a difference in the place where I have chosen to live.
