We regret to inform everyone that the Toys for Tots Holiday Hoedown is now officially canceled.

We had a great lineup of Bands, Artists, Burlesque, and more...but because Harvey's is now Shut Down, we were left scrambling to find a venue to replace it. At this point all places were booked or they required a deposit which we just can't pay, being this is a fund raiser.

We're deeply sorry to all who had committed to the event, but mainly to the Toys for Tots organization.

Please remember that this year, with the current state of the economy, it will be very difficult for families and we need to be as generous as we can to those in need.

Hell In A Handbasket Zine will be sponsoring a Christmas Fundraiser for Toys for Tots for the 2009 Holiday Season. The “Hell In A Handbasket Ho-Ho-Hoedown”, scheduled for December 12, 2009 will feature a mixture of local crafts/arts, live music and burlesque performances. All proceeds from the show will benefit Toys for Tots.

H.I.A.H. is looking for Burlesque performers for the show, to perform in between band performances. Because all proceeds from the show are going to Toys for Tots, all performers are being asked to perform “pro bono”; however the Handbasket will strongly encourage tipping all performers throughout the evening.

• Routines should be Christmas or holiday themed and should run the length of an average song, approximately 3 ½ minutes long.
• The date for the scheduled event will be December 12^th, 2009.
• Either a video of your performance or live auditions are acceptable.
• Performers must be over 18 years of age, and be available for two rehearsals prior to the actual show.

Submissions will be accepted until November 15^th; however early applicants will be given priority, so don’t wait until the last minute.

Black Devil Doll will be screening at the Know Theater on August 1st at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm. Followed by an after party in the Jackson St. Underground, directly below the theater. And being that the bar is connected to the theater you'll be able to drink beer...in the movie! How fucking cool is that?

We've also got a bunch of great local Horror Artists lined up to show of their amazing ART. Billy Tackett, Rob Meyer and many more!

Hey all you Hip Cats & Kittens. We're really excited over here at the Handbasket with all the great response we're getting and positive input. Its been a little hectic trying to get the online zine up, but we're very close and should be ready for the launch this weekend. So keep an eye out and we'll let everyone know once its up.

We're also getting ready for the printed version of the zine to come out. We'll let you know which record store/coffee shop/watering hole will have copies. And just so you know, there will be things in the print that you won't be able to get online. Even a special Centerfold. Yeah, I'm sure you'll all be pleasantly surprised by it.

We need help from the bands and venues out there to add more dates to our calendar. We've had lots of adds already, but I know there are tons of bands that haven't updated their shows yet. This zine is for YOU! We're not making money on it, in fact we're probably going in debt....LOL....We're doing this because we love it and no other reason. All we ask of you is to give us some info to pass on to the people that will be attending your shows.
