Well, our last show of the present touring season came and went, and it just happened to be our first show at a venue called 307 Downtown, in Lafayette Louisiana. We had such a great time there that I thought we should share a few words about it.

It's a great small/medium-size club; there's some great art on display and it has a really nice vibe. EVERYONE on the staff was exceptional- I don't know that weve ever worked with so generous and professional a group of people!

The doorman, the bartenders, J on sound/stage, and Chad overseeing the whole thing- what a great bunch of folks.

They really love what they're doing, and it shows. In particular, J was a pleasure to deal with. Out of all the stops on our tour, he was definitely one of the best stage/sound guys we met. I'm not sure why it is, but it seems to us that soundguys are either nice OR good, but never both. J proved the exception to that particular theory though.

One of the most important factors that make for an enjoyable show from our perspective as a band is having a good mix onstage, and J gave us the best that any venue soundman has been able to provide. Thanks J!

If you're in a band and are looking for a really cool, up-scale venue to visit in Lafayette, LA- check out 307!

If you're a friend of AM, do us a favor and stop by 307s Myspace Page and say hi. We'd like to show them a little support, as they took such good care of us.

Anstrom performed a 20-minute bellydance routine between AM sets, and it went really well. She resumes teaching classes on the Gulf Coast in a few weeks, so if youre interested in bellydance lessons, you might want to get in touch.

While staying in Lafayette, we booked rooms at Jonathan and Cheramie's Bechet House Bed and Breakfast. They are really good friends, and they're opening the really cool and HUGE Bechet House for traveling bands at a really nice rate. Bands touring through LA should DEFINITELY get in touch with them, it's a great place and they're really hospitable and entertaining. They've got some nice perks available there too, like a fully-functional recording studio. Please feel free to stop by their Myspace page and say hi too.

So, AM is done touring for the moment- we intend to get down to some serious work on the new album in our studio shortly. We're not discounting a possible show here or there in the interim, but we're not actively booking gigs till we get most of the album done. Thanks for reading- hope you're doing well, and we looking forward to seeing you all out there sometime again soon.

Trying desperately to catch up on our inbox and comments- if you write, we'll try our best to get back to you, but it's really backlogged at the moment. Thanks for being patient with us!

Mark

EATV and Engage Radio are doing really cool things in support of independent artists, and we are happy to announce that our Lilith video is now in rotation with them. They're also spinning some big-name, major-label acts; we're honored to be in the company of such bands as Goldfrapp, Calexico, of Montreal, Death Cab for Cutie, the Buzzcocks, Killing Joke, and Matt Pond PA, among many others.

If you have a second to spare, a vote for our Lilith video would be most appreciated! It's extremely simple, takes only one step and doesn't collect any info from you.
just pull down the arrow, find Analog Missionary-Lilith and hit the vote button.
Thanks so much~ primarily due to the votes from our friends, we were able to debut at #2!

Feel free to check them out on Myspace, it'll link you to their homesite;

Working on fleshing out our bio, and preparing for a few interviews.

strangely enough, the Standalone Player still WORKS!  If you hit the 'standalone player' button in the lower right corner of the player, it will open in a seperate window and it plays just fine.
Seems our musicplayer has gotten quite problematic lately, not sure why.
The DL's don't work anymore; we've asked the Myspace techs for help repeatedly, but haven't heard anything.

So, if the music won't play or you'd like to DL a tune, or for whatever other reason you feel compelled to check out our other profile, here it is;

These files seem to work when added to other profiles, so if you're feeling in the mood to play an AM tune on your page, you should probably use one from that 'AM2' page, not this main one.

we were planning on using that profile to debut new music, but for now we're mirroring the songs that so often don't seem to work on this profile.
Sorry for the trouble~ Myspace has been very good to us so far, but not from a technical standpoint- that's for sure!
thanks

Planning to journey Westward in June, looking for booking agents or promoters who can assist us with finding venues in the San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Denton (TX); Las Vegas NV, Colorado, Phoenix AZ, and Southern California areas, or anywhere in between.

Please let us know if you work in these areas, or know a reputable company who does.
thanks very much,
m & AM

here's the blog Anstrom posted on her page;

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to all you guys.  We just got back from our Texas tour with Dramarama.  We had a great time and all of the guys in Dramarama were extremely nice!  They have such a great stage presence.  I really enjoyed watching them.  It was great!  We met other bands too, one of which was
Squint (who were from Louisiana-my home state!)-great energy, cool sound and super nice people.  The other I want to mention is Saints and Sinners.  They had a great open  landscape-Americana  type sound.  I don't even know if that would be a description used for music or not...  Really talented and (again) really nice guys!  We met so many nice folks, we are currently in the process of putting together another tour out west.  This time it will include not only Texas, but hopefully Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and maybe California.  Our date to set out will be June 1st.

Well, it's a long way off, but I have a lot of work to do to get ready for it.

Talk later with more to say...

OK, it appears to have been succesful.  If you click that button, it will prompt you through the steps to send the 'Dirty Road' Ringtone to your phone, if it's compatible.  Just a little experiment I'm conducting.

We really need some banners that friends could post on their sites if they want to help support us. Like we did a while back for our logo, we're running a contest now for banner designs. We think it's cool to be able to feature art/designs created by our friends, so if you've got some ideas, we're all eyes!

Just wanted to mention to all our Myspace friends that we are SO appreciative of all your help over the past year.

Thanks for chatting with us, sharing us with your friends, reposting our bulletins, and posting comments on our page.
Thanks for playing our songs on your pages, and for putting us in your music section list, that really helps get the word out!

Thanks for buying T-shirts and CDs, all that money goes into our fund for the tour and new CD and makes it happen that much sooner.

Thanks for visiting our website and joining the forum or mailing list!  Thanks for sending in for the free stickers, we're glad to share them!

Thanks for making it out to some of the shows; we LOVE meeting our Myspace buddies in person- it's been great fun!

Thanks for EVERTHING, friends-  we really do appreciate it!  If you haven't had the opportunity to do any of the things mentioned above, thanks for just being our friend and reading this bulletin!
drop us a line anytime, we'll try our best to respond

once again Myspace tweaks the dynamics on our love/hate relationship and eats our Myspace Group! Oh, the humanity!
Maybe it's telling me to spend less time online and more in the studio...

anywho,
we've restored our phpbb forum setup on the homesite, so for now (and probably permanently) we'll be using that as our forum/messageboard.
Sorry it takes a little more than just clicking 'join' like a MS Group would, but it gives us a lot more configuration options.

Come on over if you have time. You never know what's going to happen to Myspace, though I'm sure once Rupert starts working on it it'll REALLY improve!

we're also checking out this new site, which looks and acts very simliar to Myspace. It's for 18 , we'll see how it fares.

we've posted an exclusive track there, it'll be available for a few days, then we'll rotate it out after a while.

We've set up an account on the Music Freedom site, looks like a pretty cool place. Might want to check it out if you've got a band with DL'able files. You can sell your songs there, maintain a forum, etc. Looks nice. Of course, if you're NOT in a band, there's lots of music to browse that you might enjoy.Have a look at our page if you have time, maybe listen to a song or two or rate the band?

if you decide to sign up there, use our ref code, we'd appreciate it!  J6NX5D7L

We want to try a new format for submitting press/promo packs to venues/promoters/labels, etc...  if you're in that line of work we'd like to hear your opinion.

We're thinking of compiling a 'virtual press-kit' on DVD and submitting that one item containing all the materials we would normally send in physical form.  It would contain our CDs, video, bio, photos, contact, internet stats, and other info depending on who was receiving it.
Since we're submitting a video on DVD anyway, I'm curious about just putting everything on that one disc.  It could contain a lot more info than a physical press pack, but then maybe you don't want to have to sort through more material, I'm not sure.  Would love to hear what those in the business think.

We had hoped Sonicbids would usher in the age of the electronic press kit and cut down on printing, mailing costs, and general wastefulness- but that hasn't turned out to be the case.  In fact, I suspect Sonicbids is just another way for a company to try to make some bucks at the expense of the already challenged indie bands.

Anywho, thanks for your time-  and if you have a moment to let me know how you feel about a DVD press pack, I'd really like to hear it.
thanks!
