SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Southern Ink Xposure is more than just a tattoo convention. It comprises a series of events catered to the international tattoo artist and public alike. Below is a list and description of events that will make Southern Ink Xposure a week not easily forgotten and a mainstay on the international tattoo calendar for years to come.
Date: Tuesday, January 19-20
Event: Works of "HEART" Exhibiton
Location: TBA
Description: With the unexpected excitement over this year’s “SKULLS” exhibition
(which premiered at the SIX gallery at the CTICC then moved to Toronto
in June with an entirely new set of pieces) organizers were hard
pressed to outdo themselves for SIX 2010. Curator Manuela Gray came up
with notion of “HEARTS”. In the coming months a select group of
international and local artists will be given pre-cast,
anatomically-correct hearts and will be given this simple brief: create
a work of art in any way you see fit.The exhibition will open in a
venue to be announced soon and will move to the CTICC on Jan. 22 for
the duration of the convention. The opening of the exhibition also
serves as the Southern Ink Xposure media day, in which the press are
invited and given access to organizers and artists. This year saw over
40 print, radio and online journalists in attendance so the
opportunities of exposure are great.

Event: Peninsula Tour
Location: Cape Peninsula
Description: Experience an unforgettable journey exploring the Peninsula. Hug the
Platinum Coast to the meeting place of oceans where breathtaking
scenery clashes with the rugged coastline of the southwest edge of the
continent. Visiting the Atlantic Coast towns of Clifton, and Camps Bay,
Mariners Wharf at Hout Bay with an optional cruise to Seal Island, the
magnificent Cape of Good Hope Reserve (optional funicular ride to the
top), the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, the peculiar ostriches

Event: Shark Cage Diving Experience
Location: Gansbaai
Description: Depart early morning from Cape Town and travel towards Gansbaai. On
arrival at Kleinbaai guests enjoy a delicious continental breakfast
while recent sightings being discussed. After all information being
given through guests boards the catamaran and departs into the ocean.
At the sight of sharks the cat will anchor and the guests get the
opportunity to get in the cage and view the sharks out of the comfort
of the cage. Lunch will be enjoyed on the boat before returning to the
land. On arrival coffee and scones will be served. Return back to Cape
Town in the late afternoon. Remember that you bring suntan lotion, cap
and sunglasses, a warm jersey/jacket and of course, a swimming suit and

Event: Artist "Meet and Greet"
Location: Anton Anreith Square (outside of the Circa Hotel)
Description:
This event serves two purposes. First is to give all of
our international guests a taste of South African hospitality. A
traditional braai will be laid out for the artists where they’ll have a
chance to mingle with local artists, event organizers and sponsors. Guest
musicians Lonesome Dave Ferguson and Them Tornadoes will be doing unplugged
sets. The evening promises to set a great tone for the rest of the weekend.

Event: Full Day Wine Tour
Location: TBADescription: The scenic beauty of the Winelands will remain in your memory long
after your return home. The beauty of Stellenbosch, the oldest town in
South Africa, reveals a vibrant university culture. Enjoy wine and
cheese tasting at selected vineyards as well as the Cheetah Outreach
Project at Spier while sampling the magnificent Cape vintages
en-route.Tour includes historical Stellenbosch and visit up to THREE
wine farms including wine tasting and interact with the Cheetahs at

Event: SIX - Open to Public
Location: Cape Town International Convention Centre
Description: Over 3000 people will pass through the doors of the CTICC
to see some of the world’s best tattoo artists work their magic on a
hungry South African public. Giant AV screens will broadcast live events
such as competitions, videos, and convention images.
Event: Concert Night
Location: The Mercury Live
Description: Sponsored event. Mercury Live, one of Cape Town’s top
live entertainment venues, once again hosts the Friday night concert
evening for SIX. This event was absolutely packed at the first Southern Ink
Xposure. Like this year, the concert night for SIX 2010 promises to produce
the absolute cream of South Africa’s live musical talent who will be
performing for artists, vendors and rabid fans alike. VIP treatment for SIX
artists and sponsors. Suffice to say, this evening will be epic.

Event: Southern Ink Xposure 2010 After Party

Description: We’re changing things up for next year’s show in
that we will be offering SIX artists, VIP guests and sponsors the after
party to end all after parties.. There are a number of venues still being
considered so stay tuned to this space.
